A Visit to Mellow Johnny's Bike Shop in Austin Texas

On our recent trip to ATX, we took my nephew to Mellow Johnny's Bike Shop. Mellow Johnny's is known for their owner, now shunned cycling legend, Lance Armstrong. The crew that works the shop is incredibly friendly and the coffee from Juan Pelota's, which shares space with the bike shop, is excellent. But even if you're not into bicycles or how you feel about Lance Armstrong, the basement is worth checking out if you are ever in Austin, Texas. There is an incredible amount of cycling history to see.

To bad they hate cops and don't want to provide bikes to the Austin PD no more.
Good luck with whatever local, state ,or government contracts they try to get.

In August 2020, this bike shop announced it will no longer sell and service bicycles for the Austin Police Department.
It ended a five-year contract worth up to $350,000 with the police department to purchase, resell and service bikes for a downtown patrol unit used to manage large crowds and events.
Customers will decide whether they wish to patronise a business that clearly does not support the community's police.
