Ken, along time ago (1980 ish) I towed in a car on a real cold day up here I New England, set the car down opened the hood and leaned over the fender to view the alternator cables and battery. At this point ,without touching any thing the battery exploded 1 1/2 half feet from my face. I now wear safety glasses any time I’m near a battery. I would never want to anyone to go thru that. You just never know.

I know. I thought part way thru this video. I should be wearing glasses. Many times I do.

I tore everyone of those junk breakers out of my RV when new and replaced them all with marine grade circuit breakers and rewired several circuits with upgraded wire and connectors.

One positive of not actually filming the problem or the repair is this would make a good podcast.

Thx Ken for another informative and entertaining video of your RV repairs. FWIW I spent 31 yrs working for Electric Utility with voltages up to 500kv. I had a few close calls but always tried to reduce Mr Murphys opportunity for mayhem. I know you were working with mostly low voltage (less than mankiller) but with shore power(?) and inverter/charger energized you were exposed to potentially fatal potential. Obviously you are familiar with and accept the risk involved. My concern is your audience's knowledge level with electrical work and possibilities of an injury or worse by not deenergizing and making elect sys safe before trouble shooting and repairs are attempted. I'm sure your aware that electricity doesn't give 2nd chances. Work Safe. JM2CW YMMV

I appreciate your concern, but I was never exposed to anything but 12 volt DC current during this entire video.

Oh so glad to hear Billy Hilly is out and hopefully for good this time! We been so worried about him in that terrible excuse for a jail they had him in. And Kenny, great job on the breaker diagnosis. Glad the Xantrex was not busted. Them ain’t cheap boxes.

Good job, sometimes it feels nice for the bad part show up quickly. Iwas a little surprissed you did not have to reset the Xantrax. I try to keep a pretty stocked service van like you. I don't know how some techs continue to work out of a pickup. thanks for your good work.

      Ha ha
I hope it works out for them.
You have to have parts. I don’t know how some guys do service without parts.

@@hillbillyrvsaves a lot of gas and time when you keep parts stocked on your truck, I do a lot of plumbing and electrical work when I’m able to. Health isn’t good and it costs more money and time when you’re making road trips for parts

Great Job Kenny ! I sure do love your videos ! Hey , in the next few weeks I going to put a solar panel system in my Class A myself. I looking at putting in an EG4 6000XP for my inverter. Because it has build in MPPT's and auto generator start up. Pluss it will provide addition power if I'm hooked up to 30amp service. It is split phase and has an built in transfer switch.
Using flexible 420 watt solar panels. I will send you pictures if you wish . You can delete this message if you wish as well. I'm not trying to hijack site . I do not have a You Tube site or have no plans to ever do so.

Extra $10 for emergency and after hours seems like a deal vs “regular hours”. You should value your off time more.
