- At the end of Grand Fiesta Tour ride, the Three Caballeros sing their song to the riders. For years the characters were shown on a screen animated. But recently, the animated characters were replaced with animatronic characters. These animatronics were actually featured in another Disney ride many years ago. But they were brought back for this one!
The animation makes me laugh and say references, the animatronics are cool but it's missing the charm. Wish they used both

The animatronic version is definitely better (especially if you see it in person) but the sound effects during the song don't make sense anymore.
the animation is way better because when one of them (idk who it is) is holding a prop gun he can take it out and put it back while the animatronics cant do that so they must hold it.

They should have added neon lights when they say, "Have the stars to guide us", and "Guitar's right beside us" to give a bit more flash. Idk but that's just me
I personally think they should've kept the animation. It was way funnier than the animatronics (coming from a kid's point of view), all the other clips from the ride are animated, and the robots are, to say the least, mediocre (especially José's)
No offense to the guys who made the skins for the robots or José Carioca (who is my favorite Caballero), but whoever made the skins should've done a better job. I also saw Panchito's was a little,,, eh
@@thetinydancerinyourhand8658 I mean... They're older animatronics that kind of took a trip around the world before they settled at Epcot. I believe TPMVids explained this in his recycled animatronics video.

I personally like the animatronics because you feel like you’re there at the concert. And they saved it for the end, making the realness a grand finale for itself. As cute as the animation was, i Iiked having a different medium, realness, or form for the finale. The change makes the ride pop for me.That is the theatre standpoint from my perspective.

I also like the historical aspect of the animatronics being in previous rides and renewed for this one. We’re talking about history here!
In the end while I liked the animation, the animatronics really make the finale stand out, plus since the animatronics are old and a piece of history I think that just adds a special touch to it if you know

i love the fact that they reused the mickey mouse revue animatronics- they’re such a cool piece of history. i really love the fluidity of the original animation too, though, even if donald gets beat up one too many times for my liking 😅
The animatronics are soooooooo.........lifelike and the animated cartoon is soooooooo........animated! I can’t decide which one I like better! I love them both! I’m just so happy to see José Carioca being utilized more by Walt Disney World! He’s my favorite Disney character!
Panchito is my favorite out of the three but Jose is my second favorite

I understand that the animatronics are an integral piece of Disney history, but frankly, I prefer the animated finale. Fun fact: all the animation for this ride was done by legendary Disney animator, Eric Goldberg, best known for animating Genie in Aladdin.
I wish they kept the animation. The charm isn’t really there and from my experience, for some reason whenever I went on it ppl got so freaking hyped cuz of the animation (because it was lively and stuff) and started clapping to the beat of the song which was so cool. Now it’s rare to find that because again, the charm is gone. I heard stuff going around that this ride is gonna turn into a coco ride :( I really hope it isn’t true because this ride is loved by a lot of people, including myself. But if it is true, RIP The Gran Fiesta Tour, you will be missed by many. 🥀💞

@@rckblzr it just enhances joking about how Disney took away really nice animatronics and replaced it with a 2d cutout, when they have a b-mode for the scene. I get the animatronics need work on it but they should be using the screen

@@emilybrinkerhoff6825 Yep! But if I remember correctly, the animation (in the finale, for elaboration) was just a placeholder while they were waiting for the animatronics to finish their little world trip.
@@mochaexpress5419 I heard they replaced the finale’s animation with the animatronics to pay tribute to the extinct “Mickey Mouse Revue” attraction where these animatronics are from.
Donald got hurt a lot in the animation!
I have to make things clear for some people. In old cartoons, idk if it's his gag anymore, Donald's bit was how unlucky he was. He would get hurt all the time because he would do something to deserve it, and he would show off his classic temper.
Donald gets hurt, because that's how unlucky he is, and he's used to make ppl laugh with physical comedy. And he only gets hurt 3 times, which is the perfect amount for the length of the animation.
I like the sound affects
To me the rest of the animations dont transfer well to animatronics because it is a different type of animation and it makes a bumpy transition. I love animatronics but think this is a case where it worked better without them for seemless transition between sets...
It be cool to bring back the animated screen since at the moment all animatronics are gone

where is the screen portion? in epcot they have the animatronics.
splash mountain power This ride used to use a screen for this scene, but they replaced the screen with animatronics, sometime in 2015, I believe.

I prefer the animation. It is just so expressive and fun, especially compared to the animatronics.

To be fair, the animatronics were built in 1969 and were at opening day of Disney world, then traveled and stayed at Tokyo Disney land for more than a decade, then brought back to Epcot, of course they would kinda look like that they are OLDER

Such fluid 2D animation. Such a pity Disney doesn't make 2D films anymore.
Granted, they don't because all their last 2D movies either flopped or underperformed, but that was just because of script issues, badly handled marketing and the audience's general misconception about 2D films being "kid stuff".
We seriously need this animation put to good use now that Disney+ exists.
@@ericdarkgoat4050 Those are indeed masterpieces and I don't try to take away their merit. It's just that 2D animation is a forgotten artform and the animators who know how to do it are not getting any younger nor training a new generation, and it might dissapear forever. Both 2D and 3D can perfectly coexist.

I love them both! But, Jose has yellow hands not white gloves. And the animation is cool and I know why there was a rainbow in the animation. They're 3 gay caballeros right? Yes, and that's the pride flag for gay
Jose has yellow gloves. And the rainbow is not because of pride flag. In the olden times (when the movie was released), gay was another way to say happy or joy. They're three happy cowboys. Also, they're always chasing women, so they're not part of the LGBTQ+.
