I made it and i dont wanna drive without the damper anymore. I love this mod. Thank you.!
Thank you for posting this video. I upgraded from Logi G920 to a Fanatec setup and found the throttle to be worse than the Logi. This mod made it totally usable
Awesome, thanks for reviewing it. I have it installed on my throttle and standard brake (same as your set but without any 3D printed parts, as you can source everything from the two major USA hardware stores locally for $9 USD per pedal including those bolts, nuts, washers and all the insert rods, and the pair of RC dampers from Ali for $12 USD shipped, for two pedals this DIY mod comes to $30 USD, and is very worth it). I like how the RC dampers are adjustable for the spring strength with the adjustment knob. The CSL Pedals standard (with this DIY mod on the throttle and brake) are my backup pedal set now after I purchased Heusinkveld Sprints recently (super impressed by them, talk about quality and adjustability, and are quite a few levels better). I probably could not go back to CSL Pedals standard now that is for sure! I would need to have this DIY mod installed on it of course even if I had to go back to it one day.
Yeah, it's a simple mod you could easily bash together the same thing without a 3D printer. You can't go wrong with a set of Heusinkveld pedals, excellent choice, Jon.👍
Hi mate @jonferraez. Could you tell me how is the spring in the less stiff setting compared to normal break/accelerator?
Thanks for the awesome mod! First off, I tried with a 100 mm RC damper. It wasn't bad, but the 140 mm dampers are a bit better and easier to install (not moving that much).
Man please dont post anymore Sim Racing mods, you are the reason i spent all of my money 😢
Big thanks. I did try this mod. I ended up buying a 3d lrinter to print the parts, i know lol. But i went to different hardware stores and couldn't source them, tried a few 3d prjnting services but they wanted about 80 bucks, so i got a used 3d printer for about that price and i am so happy with the result. I did use the stiffer spring you listed, it's a must. This does feel way better now.
But if i were to do this again i would have just bought it premade from you from ebay. But i guess it was somewhat satisfying to put this together myself.
So now thinking of putting the threadlocker to avoid leaking
Did you have a Video for the Brake pedal also? As that looks different with the rubbers
Nice! I'm going to get this setup myself.
Btw what shoes are those?
These are the shoes ruclips.net/video/oWxq2kSiCy4/видео.html
Would you recommend the damper mod or the 3drap bushes, just bought the pedals and not sure which would be best
This is just what i was looking for! Thank you for this!
Do you have to replace the oil in these ? If so how often? Cheers for the vid
Great video, would you say in terms of price to performance there’s any major reason to go for something like the SRE mod for a casual sim racer? Or does a mod like this suffice? Only wondering as something like this is only £12 as opposed to the 50 that the SRE mod would cost
I tried to set it up myself but it’s super noisy and squeaky, not sure if I did it wrong or if I got a bad damper.
It squeaks a lot any help? And it’s grindy that the most annoying part it feels like sand
So is this mod worth it or I rather get the Fanatec CSL Elite V2 pedals? Which many considered the best pedals for the price ($299)
I'm curious. What is RC oil? In case, by some chance, I need to get some.
Damn I thought this was the anticipated custom brake mod you were talking about doing with custom polymers
Hi,
Thanks for video, I purchase one of these from my csl pedals and whilst it has improved the brake a little bit even with the spring fully loaded it still feels like could do with a stronger spring do you know if there is anywhere they can be purchased thanks in advance
nice mod but i need the 3d printed parts wich i cant buy..... any tips?
This is amazing work. I own the Csl elite pedals, can you please make this for the Csl elite pedal set, particularly the lc brake, I get no feedback or feel from the brakes at all. Do you have any suggestions on what I should do/ use to mod my lc brakes on the Csl Elite. Again I'm very impressed with your work. Cheers.
which mod would you recommend for the standard break(non lc) for the csl pedals, this or the 3drap mod?
I have one of these and my oil leaked out. is the oil necessary? does the oil do anything?
Anyway to get these 3D printed part without a 3D printer? My closest library is too far away and I work 7 days a week. By the time I'm off its well past closing time
I know. I wish someone should make this in a kit.
somebody has made the kit and is selling it on Ebay now if u want to check. Ebay link is in video decription.
Hello, what is the best setting for the spring? Mine is all the way at the top but not sure how much I should rotate the spring the get the most of out this mod?
Hi, how stiff is the lowest stiffness compared to normal accelerator? Thanks :)
Thanks for help. I ordered right now
Do you like the mod? Thinking of ordering
@@madhaz3359 i put 4 springs on, because i like to press a little bit hard, and its better control
I did this mod to the throttle and clutch as i have the load cell brake a few months back and has worked great. I also ordered a set of stiffer springs. Depending on the quality of your shocks the throttle will eventually leak i assume due to the constant foot pressure. Have not experienced that with the clutch to a severe degree. Dont like the 3d printed replacement spring perch as it does take away 30% of your throttle length. Overall a good mod for the money.
Where did you order stiffer springs? Can’t seem to find a place online
Could you link the springs you ordered?
@@JoesirisReborn tried linking it but doesnt seem to let me. Go it on aliexpress tho
I used threadlocker on the bottom and havent had any leaks so far been using them going just over a month of daily use
@@mjeezyca ill have to try that out!
Have you tried it flipping it 180 with shock on bottom, read 1 review saying it's much better?
I have
How long is this damper from hole to hole? Guessing like 140mm?
Do you sell these already pre made? Im in UK
Love this mod, feels much better and easier to gauge when cornering. Be sure to use threadlocker on the bottom nut in order to prevent leaks. The spacer helps shorten the throw and hopefully means prolonging the life of the shock as only using it to 70% of capacity
Hello where do you exactly put the threadlocker on, I’m still confused when you said at the bottom nut. Plz help
@@haijin7484maybe it is bottom nut for the hydraulic tube to prevent oil leaks
Would that replace load cell on the break pedal if I don't have one? Which one is better for breaking. Thanks :)
Maybe watch this video. ruclips.net/video/udajL05D_Qs/видео.html
im getting weird noises any way of removing those when applying pressure it sounds like the spring is touching the metal and sound is distracting.Great feel for the pedal just hope I can get rid of that noise
I have the same problem maybe it’s because I ordered a cheap damper from Aliexpress.
how long is this damper? I have CSL pedals....
Hi, can I buy the 3D printed parts.
Hello, Thx for the video. What model of support plate do you use for your pedals? I have the same RIG. Merci.
Hi there, it's this pedal deck. ruclips.net/video/H34NnGCephQ/видео.html
What size and length on the bolt/screws?
Hello. Did you use oil ?
How long did the springs take to arrive?
Hey, could you (or anyone else) measure the length of the damper? There are also some dampers with 2 springs, I wonder if they could be any better/ worse?
Nice! Just downloaded the STL files and ordered 2 if the silver dampers from your link.
Already have the 4x M6×60mm bolts and nuts.
Hopefully it doesn't take for ever to arrive
How many kg are this damper kit on?
Do you like these or the 3Drap better?
They feel is quite similar, so either one does the same job really.
didnt they leak after a while?
do the bolts come with the kit?
Anybody know what kind of oil is used?
I bought these. The brake sounds good but the gas pedal gives an annoying sound from spring as it's hitting the shaft
Did you fix the noise ? I did the mod today and yep, is noisy for the night time. I use noise canceling headphones but for the other it can be annoying for sure ....
@@jesusrdz4091 hi yes with the brake I placed the original csl dd brake mod back on and reinstalled the mod kit
Zero noise now. For the pedals I reinstalled it and the noise is 95% gone
@@TheKerr1983 Sorry I didn't get it... what did you do for the gas mod?
@@jesusrdz4091 I took it off from the pedals and pulled the spring up so I can adjust the stiffness. If you adjust it while the spring is connect to the bottom piece it messes it up. So pull the spring up and adjust the stiffness that way
Do not fill them with oil, they will start to leak after a couple of hours, my floor, socks and pedalset is a mess now😣
impossible to command if we are in France...
good evening. do you have the link of those 4 thick pieces that go on top? I can't find it anywhere that sells it.
You have to 3D print these yourself. I posted the link to the STL model in the description.
Will you do a video on how to probably add oil to these I just ordered a pair for gas and brake of my sim pedals same as yours
There are video guides on YT on how to do this. But try it without oil first. I thought it was fine.
@@SimRacingCorner in description it says to add oil
Does this fit to the loadcell brake pedal too ? Cus i find the stock one way to heavy
No, but there are other mods you can try. ruclips.net/video/oCdUoOjtEfU/видео.html, ruclips.net/video/LQfbcqIAiqM/видео.html
@@SimRacingCorner i have the 3drap ones but i Still find them way to stiff. Im looking for something which makes the brake pedal soft so i can feel the travel of the brake with low force but thank you
@@UCXTSane Maybe the spring mod might be right for you. With the yellow spring.
i have 3drap mod throttle, do you think this is better?
It's about the same, really.
Will this work for the V3? Much cheaper than fanatecs damper kit
No it won't fit
@@SimRacingCorner thanks
Whish I could buy it but no shipping to south africa 😢
I was just thinking if the bolt was all thread you wouldn’t need the 3D printed parts could just use nuts to hold in center
Fair point, you could do that.
@@SimRacingCorner that’s what I plan to do when I get mine tomorrow just seen on Amazon that it will be here tomorrow also got some 30wh oil for shock
Thanks!!!❤
hey dude, quick question. if you preload the spring to get more tension, does it reduce the travel at the same time? cheers
Yes, preloading the spring does increase the tension a little bit. It doesn't restrict the pedal travel.
@@SimRacingCorner brilliant, cheers pal
so I need a 3d printer for this mod??
Correct
Great video. Seen these on ebay last night and looked like what i needed. Have you found any long term use issues with these? Thanks
They're great, no problems to report.
@@SimRacingCorner Great, ordered a set for my throttle and brake pedals. Cheers 🙂
Installed mine today (throttle only) not seeing a huge amount of resistance change from the standard pedal. Even with the adjustment screw at the very bottom. Did you say if you fill the chamber with more RC oil it should give more resistance to the pedal? Thanks
I didn't add any oil myself, I was happy with how it was. But yes, if add RC oil it will increase the resistance.
@@SimRacingCorner Thanks, ordered some RC oil. Cheers
Wow that looks cool man, how can i get this mod?
I 3D printed this, so it's easy to cobble together if you have access to one.
@@SimRacingCorner cool
Don't label this a guide if you didn't even include how to remove spring.
You don't remove the torsion spring, that wouldn't make sense at all. You add this mod to the existing pedal to increase the overall resistance. Removing the spring would negatively decrease the resistance.
everything fanatec sells is sold out.
Everything was in stock just a month ago when I ordered my DD Pro.
sure looks like an xmaxx shock lmao
