The U.K. did violate an embassy before but it was in a different context. "Operation Nimrod" was carried out at, ironically, the Iranian Embassy in London in 1980 by the British S.A.S. Regiment in order to free hostages from 3 terrorists. Sometimes the end justifies the means.

@@amigochevere5217 yes, I completely understand that. This is an example of the current political party in power weaponizing the justice system to fight its political opponents. The reality is that both the right and the left are corrupt, and each party has its own narrative or view of the situation. The reality is unknown sadly. Both parties point the finger at the other and say that the other party is the enemy, doesn’t respect human rights and is bad for democracy. It’s all a great manipulation. My question is: was Ecuador better or worse when Correa was president?

Similar yet very different. Glas already had a jail sentence by the time Mexico cowardly hid him away in their embassy. Assange wasn’t even tried for his crimes, but Ecuador’s leftist regime at the time let him in their embassy. Mexico was effectively harboring a convicted criminal who does not have the right to political asylum.

We have had good relations with each other, and a lot of Ecuatorians are apologizing for what the president did.
This rich kid president from Ecuador, his heart is NOT in the right place nor is his head.
Want to know what’s trully happening?
      Imitation…
In his mind is a competition to elevate himself. He wants to be popular like Bukele. He wants to be the new “coolest president of the world”, because in his narcissistic mind, he is young, he is good looking… “popular”
Why not. This is what society is all about anyways no?
I mean come on … I didnt even knew a single thing about him until now and this is my conclusion from the feeling I get in my heart…
      Call me crazy 🤷🏽‍♂️
I don’t think Ecuatorian people should pay for this. I’m hoping they push him out.

I love how you people expect the US to police the entire world, yet when we police the world you get mad at us for that too. If the US intervened here, you would start whining about how the US is always intervening. You wanted a return to the Age of Imperialism where the US doesn't shut down bad actors, and you are now getting it. Colonization of Ukraine, Middle East wars, civil war in Myanmar, China attacking the Philippines, Venezuela colonizing Guyana, Africa collapsing, now Ecuador invading an embassy, and we are just a couple years into this. If you don't like what Israel is doing, too bad, it's not our problem anymore. Your country can go to war if you care about it so much.
