  • Mexico has cut diplomatic ties with Ecuador after police stormed into its embassy in Quito to arrest former Ecuadorian Vice-President Jorge Glas. The Ecuadorian government has ordered Mexico’s ambassador to leave, declaring her a “persona non grata”. Mexico’s secretary of foreign affairs said the country’s diplomatic personnel had suffered injuries in the episode at the embassy. “They hit me, I was hit on the ground… like criminals, they broke into the Mexican Embassy in Ecuador,” Canseco said.

    1. The judge that convicted Glas is now in prison for being a narco judge, Correa (former Ecuadorian president under whom Glas was Vice President), his family, and one other of his then-ministers are also physically in Mexico with political asylum. So, the threat of this being political persecution against Glas with unfounded charges is very real.
    2. An embassy is legally considered a territorial extension of the representing country, thus what Ecuador did is considered an invasion of Mexican territory and legally can be a legitimate cause for war. Mexico won't go to war but will sue Ecuador in The Hague. Many international sanctions await Ecuador...
Imagine the response by the U.S. if Ecuador had done this to their embassy.
    3. Whatever the Ecuadorian president was thinking, this shit storm is blowing up in his face. Even in Mexico now, the opposition news media, and the opposition parties PRI, PAN, and PRD are all falling in line supporting the Mexican president's response. This has had a response of almost universal backing for Mexico domestically and internationally.

It is an act of war if Iran wants one, Equator made itself known that the country can't trusted to keep its agreements, and I doubt they understand how much it will cause them trouble. No need too. You can break to law in USA and get bail out the same day. Just axx all the untouchable criminals, and Trump who break the law. 🤡

FYI if you don't know who's the first to violate embassies it was when Donnie was in office. Supplanting the embassy of Venezuela, and also another incident of then removing Julian from the Embassy at the behest of the US. So if Americans from now on need to go to an embassy for safety don't count on it because someone created a dangerous precedent by violating international laws.

Ecuadorian embassy gave up Julian Assange to the UK police, there was no storming of the embassy to get Assange, they just waited until the embassy got tired of hosting him
