"The balance they strike between setting up new questions with revealing answers to previous questions is INCREDIBLE. The best i have ever seen." Only show I think did it better (and is more interesting because of the scale and intensity of it) is Attack on Titan.
@@galgrunfeld9954 Attack on titan was more intensive than this. This is more like Lost. But yeah all of these shows are really strong in the binge worthy/addictive department. Silo became a must watch on season 1 ending. By the looks of it, season 2 ending will leave us craving for lots more too.
I disagree, as someone who has read the books, there was SO much bloat in this season. Chracters that never existed in the first place, events that never happened. And don't get me wrong, I understand that you cannot copy a book 1-1 on screen, but so many creative decisions taken by the showrunners make zero sense to me.
I really like how the show frames the cycles of events, and how you get the feeling that all the events have happened before, but that Juliette is the jokercard, that all the cycles of rebellion before didn’t have in the silo, and that’s why this cycle actually might have a chance of changing. The efforts of those that came before, are the foundation of the new cycle, with this I mean for example Billings being a “new gen” Holston (both know that they can’t keep supporting the society and have feelings they suppress), George and Lucas (both outcast and with feelings towards Juliette, but only George being with her, but having same motivation and curiosity), Kathleen Billings and Allison (both wanted children but only Kathleen got her wish, and a drive to find out the truth) Judge meadows and Robert sims (she was Bernard’s shadow but chose not to be, after learning the truth, then became judge, while Sims wanted to be his shadow, but doesn’t know the truth and being named judge, something he doesn’t want, and Meadows knowing what she knew, and still further supported the system, while Sims most likely will support his family and the rebellion, all because the joker (Juliette) changed what was before seen as impossible, therefore breaking the loop. 10/10 writing
Severance took over two years for season 2. Remember when shows aired 22 plus eps a year and they were NEVER late with each season beginning in the fall? We're lucky if its only a year but i've heard they're already filming season 3

Not gonna lie, I had to push myself to get to this episode because I was so interested to know more about the silos. FINALLY, we are met with a secret vault door and AI. Last episode finna be WILD!
The wildest thing that drove me absolutely nuts is how Eater doesnt even ask julliete where she came from, its just assumed shes from another silo. They dont even know their last names, theirs no way they no there are other silos and wouln't be freaking out
anyone else notice that Solo had two different colored eyes? it made me feel like they were hinting at human experimentations going on in his silo like what they did in Fallout. idk 🤷🏽♀️ just wanted to mention
People in make shift prisons, fights breaking out in the down deep, Bernard about to win and Juliet pops up over the hill and knocks on the camera and be like 👋🏾👨🏾🚀 "could someone open the door plz?"....roll credit!😂😂 That's exactly how it should end especially since Bernard is turning the lunch room/viewing room into a prison
yo eater was just dropping crazy knowledge bombs the whole time she was with Juliet "i dont have a last name" "so you never had to eat a rat huh" like man did i ask?? it had me crying laughing.
Bernard says "technically they built 51". Which I took to mean one isn't like the others. Maybe it isn't under ground. It is above ground. It could be this is the place a silo's population would go to to start a new civilization and would be shelter as they rebuild, or it is a supply depot. It has what would be needed to kick start society again. Benard says "technically" because its design is completely different from the others.
What never made sense to me (maybe it's just a plot device, but perhaps there's some good in-universe explanation) is: why are those silos vertical at all. Why weren't they built as horizontal, single-floor structures? That would be way easier, in terms of engineering, and also allowing for much more natural living conditions, not ones under which "no human can ever walk 200 feet in a straight line". We do know that the top floors are perfectly fine to live on - in fact, they're the luxurious ones - so why not just use one spacious top floor? Why dig over a hundred floors deeper
I feel like the final shot of the season will be of Juliette with her face right up against the outside viewscreen camera (as she was back when they expected her to clean).
I think the vault down at the bottom links all the silos , or it goes directly to silo which is in charge of them all ? Either way I haven’t been so anxious for the last part … really wish they had season 3 done and dusted with 😩
5:57 Aren’t there 50 states in the US? One silo per state, the 18th being Georgia's… Then the 51st (the “overseer”) is the government or DC. Disclaimer: I have not read the books.
... I was thinking about that theory as well. Eater obviously wants to leave. No mystery there. But what would be the advantage for Juliet? I mean .. Juliette might think that everyone in Silo 18 is already dead? .. actually .. We need to know exactly how long she has been in Silo 17. That might influence her decision to bring anyone, really .. 🧐
@@ellenripley2054 I think Juliette would bring her back to use as proof to her silo others are out there. And also out of compassion as Eater will most likely want to leave.
Dreadful woman was just starving and protecting her family but do go off. Yes she was getting in the way of the main lead but it would be boring if everything just goes smoothly for juliet. Apparently mild annoyance is enough to make any woman Hitler. If the actor got you to feels things, it means they did a good job
@@ellenripley2054(spoilers)If you have read the wikipedia Silo book plot, juliet will be able to contact Lucas. Not sure how though. But maybe it will be revealed in ep10. Probably Solo will tell her eventually that he can contact othe silos.
Lukas can tell "everyone" about the safeguard: he just has to do it in writing or on the stairs, where it seems people can speak freely without getting accosted by Bernard and his thugs
everyone who said the last few episodes could've been shorter, or ep 9 should've been put earlier in the season, are you serious? without all those "boring" previous episodes, we would never believe how jules and solo's friendship grows that jules refuse to go out until she saved solo, how this bond between them is also what leads them into the vault in the end saving everyone, how the sparks of rebellions develop until both sides has to take drastic measures, how billings could've gone astray from the pact, how sims and his wife could change sides, how lukas can even get to the tunnel in the first place. even knox's action with walker, can easily be explained because in the previous episode knox confronted the cafeteria lady who poisoned the food the same way. these episodes are set up so the story progression is more believable. ep 9 is great because it's a payoff of the whole 18 episodes before that.
Season 2 has been slow barring the 9th episode. In season 1, things were happening frequently and I was at the edge of the seat the whole time. This season does not feel that. Hopefully next seasons will be bangers.
I don't buy that the "Algorithm" is an AI. Since the logic doesn't add up. If Quinn gave Lucas the Instructions. Then an AI would just enact the "safeguard" because the instructions would violate the directive Quinn was given to not "speak" (communicate) about what is there in the tunnel. Also, the voice states they did not talk to Wilkins, indicating that this person was not on shift. If it was an AI, it would have talked to Wilkins and would have stated, "....you will receive the same directive I had given them." So this must be the entrance leading-to or a way to communicate with the 51st vault. It is strange that Bernard knows of the extra vault but doesn't know how to communicate with it or anything. Perhaps the Key that lights up is his only way to receive communication from vault 51 and it is only one way. Perhaps the 51st vault is deeper underneath the rest of the vaults and in sort of a larger area the spans the entire area of the rest of the vaults. The size is probably for running all the power and staff to monitor and maintain the rest of the comms and house a larger version of the Legacy that has like cars and big stuff that doesn't fit in the smaller Legacies. Seems like each vault has one of these tunnels and for all of them to go to the same place it would need to be a very large area underneath. Since Bernard said it's "technically" a vault, maybe it is designed differently and is shallow and wide instead of the normal thin and deep like the other vaults. I'm excited to see where the story goes.
Interesting theory, I am also hoping it is not AI cus that would just be too lazy to eliminate the possibility of a human element there in 51. I am wondering if there is a reason behind contacting the vistors to the door, like they passed some sort of test
@@joof38955 Yeah, it is strange.... on another vid they posed that the greeting is only for someone "with clearance." Their guess was that Quinn, Meadows, and Lukas all knew about the Legacy or other Silos and therefore would be greeted. As for George Wilkins... he made it there but didn't have clearance to know about the Legacy and therefore was not greeted at the entrance. So, that is why the voice says they didn't speak to him. I don't know, but this has definitely got me excited for the finale! Yeah, AI does seem like lazy writing in this day and age. Which is funny to say seeing as how people use AI to write for them....😂
I agree with the Knox comments- I even think he had his suspicions the first time he talked to Walker, explaining they wanted to take control, etc. I thought it was all a test to see if Walker's recent lockdown was something more than emotional response. And it was.
Plus, getting a message through the barricade, he realizes that his message to Bernard (indirectly) worked. Hence the fake story to sort of tell Walker that he knows, without saying he knows. It also seems he sympathizes, at least a little?
Thanks, your videos are very entertaining. Can not wait for next week. That said I applaud your strong will not be reading the books. I did after season 1 and its great and I'll spoil nothing. I've read Wool and anyone who's read it also knows nothing. The show has veered away from the books so much lol Also someone has said the author of the books commented ep 10 diverges even more from the books. I mean the book did not have Quinn's code, Judge Meadows, Lukas never went to the mines, he talked via radio to Jules a lot plus Jules wasn't suspicious of George's death, and just a lot of things the book didn't have. I personally love the show more than the books.
@@mythrapi73 I like Simms being a major character. I hope they still preserve some of the key moments of the book even if done differently via different characters
I am pretty sure the prison cafeteria mentioned in episode will be filled with mechanical when Julia returns. In the long term, for some reason I think Julia and Bernard might work together against sth bigger. Bernard seems like a character that will stay for a long time.
My theory is that the 51ist silo is all AI run and watches over the other 50 and keeps them underground. Maybe forever bc humans did something crazy in the past
The Algorithm asks Lukas if he knew what the safeguard was? Does he, or is he just saying that so he can move on into the tunnel/vault. I know they showed us some code that he was deciphering from Quinn about the safeguard but I didn’t quite see what it was or understand it
When Lucas find the door at the end,and the voice speaks to him,and says something about not getting the opportunity to speak to one of the 3 others that made it to the door . It makes me think the voice guy is just doing a job, and was off that day when one of the 3 made it to the door . The voice seems, almost sympathetic, or impressed that Lucas made it that far, until the “safeguard” part of course . 🤪
George wasn’t an IT shadow so he wouldn’t have heard the voice. Judge meadows was IT shadow so she would of heard the voice, probably which led her to drinking so heavily
The story is amazing. There is no deeply evil characters so far in the show, they are all genuinely thinking they do the right thing. But they are mislead and all wrong.
The tunnel at the bottom of the silo doesn’t connect other Silo’s but instead somewhere else. Possible Silo 51 where the founders and their descendants are or some type of headquarters? With how hard they try to keep secrets and separate the Silo’s, I don’t believe they built a tunnel connecting them. So intriguing to see what’s behind the tunnel door…
I think its more strange how Solo has survived food-wise for decades in the vault,.. there's no farm area there. At least those outside have accesss to the farming areas. Basically, as well as all the computers and artefacts, the vault seemingly has a lifetime supply of food, including (ice cream!)
My daughter said someone needed to punch her in the face. I said throat. We both agreed she was a sociopath and her blood thirst to kill Solo gets her nowhere. Acting definitely succeeded in making me instantly hate her.
Love the video. I left a bunch of theories in Discord. ** Also, sorry to correct, but I caught that Chase and Tess had Benny - Rick and Audrey's half brother before they died in the airlock - according to Eater. Rick and Audrey have the baby.
This season is slow but still pretty good. I think this was the best episode so far it had better pace than the other episodes and it revealed a lot of stuff. But I found Juliette's shocking reaction odd when realizing Solo/Jimmy was only twelve when he locked himself in the vault. I mean we, the audience, basically knew or at least strongly theorized he had to have been very young when he started protecting the vault. Sure it wasn't literally said out loud until now but still. Anyway looking forward to last episode and already looking forward to season three.
from what you've been saying about the voice being called "algorithm", it makes me wonder if the plot is AI took over and decided that the best way to help humanity was to reset humanity and be it's "benevolent" overseer, having a bunch of silos for survivors to wait out the "apocalypse" outside, or to molded into the "perfect humans" until they can be let out to live outside again. if a silo turns out bad (rebellion , etc) there's other silos.
@@J-11mph maybe the AI was a tool of the founders that became sentient and took over everything, or it got sentient way before and "the founders" are part of it's mind control plot, or just puppets who don't know they are puppets.

No, they began filming for season 3 two months ago. The creators have said that they will be shooting all of 2025 and early 2026 so they're most porbably filming S03 and 04 back to back!!
I didn't read the books but am assuming the 51st Silo is the ACTUAL server room for the Algorithm and for all the Silos; and that the Safeguard is a self-destruct.
Non book reader ( all I know are their titles) I'm guessing the windmills shown I this episode are there for a reason as is the toy the kid is playing with that seems like a noise maker for a new years eve party. It would for sure be a high level relic because you would become aware of how you could get up and down the Silo faster and easier with a system built of the fundamentals shown with this toy.
also i think that apple tv was trying to promote the severance season 2 premier subtly in this episode. When Sherley was talking to Paul in the cafeteria she mentions how because of him all the comms were "severed". I mean she could have used any other word like jammed or disconnected or shut down. Im sorry if i dont make a lot of sense rn lmao
So the algorithm says “don’t SPEAK this to anyone” so that is why Meadows decoding Quinn’s message did not trigger the Safeguard, and so we can assume Lucas’ disclosure that Quinn told him about the door will also not trigger the safeguard on a technically? Or is it now triggered?
What I want to know is how meadows or Jules for that matter get back out after getting to the bottom of that rope, its like a hundred foot free hand rope climb, I'd wager few men could manage it either (looking at you Lucas)

"The balance they strike between setting up new questions with revealing answers to previous questions is INCREDIBLE. The best i have ever seen."
Only show I think did it better (and is more interesting because of the scale and intensity of it) is Attack on Titan.
And don't get me wrong, I understand that you cannot copy a book 1-1 on screen, but so many creative decisions taken by the showrunners make zero sense to me.
that scene about solo story made me moved a little 🥲
Same . Onions in the room.
Such an underrated show.
When the episode ended I was on the edge of my seat. Like wtf was that?!?!
Further supporting the cyckle theory is when Knox and Shirley connecting the dots under the Silo of the names of people from earlier rebellions.

I luv how these videos are so well explained 😅
I've been waiting for this 😭
Finally we get a great episode! Just not sure why it will take over a year for the next season.
Soo much work goes into each episode.
Severance took over two years for season 2. Remember when shows aired 22 plus eps a year and they were NEVER late with each season beginning in the fall? We're lucky if its only a year but i've heard they're already filming season 3
@@mythrapi73 I don't know what happened but honestly it depends on the series. Some are simply a lot easier to film than others.
@@mythrapi73 Very annoying but, to be fair, that 2 years includes the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes.
@@mythrapi73 yeah I don’t get it. I’m not going to pretend I know the ins and outs of production, but series like the boys where there are tons of special effects I get why that would take a year. Silo seems to be simple to produce. Not much special effects. Loads of acting. Just wanted to know why it takes so long for the next season ☺️
Damn, Knox is my favorate is this episode. He is a true leader!
I have a theory that he dies and is the only one that knew Walker was the traitor. Leaving Walker some struggles
Not gonna lie, I had to push myself to get to this episode because I was so interested to know more about the silos. FINALLY, we are met with a secret vault door and AI. Last episode finna be WILD!
It is not a AI ... its another vault. My guest its the HQ that control all the vault and see everything
@ Youre right for pointing out that it’s possible NOT AI, but on the same token it’s possibly NOT another Silo.
@ Maybe but what wake me up its bernad say there is 51 silo when the other guy before say 50
@@MrCycled Point well taken 😁 that would be exciting too! I’m pumped either way!

thank god i didn't get the time to watch episode 9 till now, thank god i don't have to wait for a week for next ep
SPOILER ALERT!
Juliet lives. She joins the Bene Jesurit and has a son who goes on to lead an interplanetary revolt
Really good inside joke, made me laugh hard 😂
She got accustomed to how the Fremen live because, like them, she was born in a hole in the ground
SILO 1 Lets go baby now the real fun begins.
People in make shift prisons, fights breaking out in the down deep, Bernard about to win and Juliet pops up over the hill and knocks on the camera and be like 👋🏾👨🏾🚀 "could someone open the door plz?"....roll credit!😂😂
That's exactly how it should end especially since Bernard is turning the lunch room/viewing room into a prison
yo eater was just dropping crazy knowledge bombs the whole time she was with Juliet "i dont have a last name" "so you never had to eat a rat huh" like man did i ask?? it had me crying laughing.
They have a g.e.c.k. in there.
@@vibovitold the whole class system where down deepers never go up top, and vice versa
I could see Eater, not Solo, accompanying Juliet back to 18. If she survived eating rats and that dreaful woman, she won't be afraid of much.

@@ellenripley2054(spoilers)If you have read the wikipedia Silo book plot, juliet will be able to contact Lucas. Not sure how though. But maybe it will be revealed in ep10. Probably Solo will tell her eventually that he can contact othe silos.

@ yep. Maybe Solo was lying!
I really hope the season doesn't end just when Juliette gets back.
I want at least some more closure than just that.
It will.
@@martincallahan263 Yeah it's looking like that 😒
season 3 should be a banger regardless
@@joof38955 True that
If they try to do more it will be rushed. Too much to cram into 1 ep.
Best episode of the season hands down. Solo's arc made me emotional
Which is funny to say seeing as how people use AI to write for them....😂
youre a genius, love the vids!
excellent episode
I agree with the Knox comments- I even think he had his suspicions the first time he talked to Walker, explaining they wanted to take control, etc. I thought it was all a test to see if Walker's recent lockdown was something more than emotional response. And it was.
Plus, getting a message through the barricade, he realizes that his message to Bernard (indirectly) worked. Hence the fake story to sort of tell Walker that he knows, without saying he knows. It also seems he sympathizes, at least a little?
I was very happy to see solo didn't do anything evil just a trapped kid. Season 2 was epic such a cliffhanger for season 3
The episode was popping 🔥
My theory is people live in the outside world and the people in the silo and just test subjects. To see the affects
Thanks, your videos are very entertaining. Can not wait for next week.
That said I applaud your strong will not be reading the books. I did after season 1 and its great and I'll spoil nothing. I'm so trilled by this show, I hope you remain strong and through you I experience not knowing.
Kind regards,

I've read Wool and anyone who's read it also knows nothing. The show has veered away from the books so much lol
Also someone has said the author of the books commented ep 10 diverges even more from the books.
I stayed up to play marvel rivals and you dropped this in perfect time 👌🏾
My theory is that the 51ist silo is all AI run and watches over the other 50 and keeps them underground. Maybe forever bc humans did something crazy in the past
God, I hope they don't make AI the ultimate control for the Silos. That would be a major departure from the books.
The Algorithm asks Lukas if he knew what the safeguard was? Does he, or is he just saying that so he can move on into the tunnel/vault. I know they showed us some code that he was deciphering from Quinn about the safeguard but I didn’t quite see what it was or understand it
I am hoping she goes back to silo 18 and brings a chalk board to write to everyone watching on the camera!
Thank you for your Information and Imagine nice reguards from Multiverse
Your signoff is fantastic, cause my dad died in 1987. No exaggeration. I mean my whole life. All I ever wanted was my dad back.
Yh true because he said he couldn't talk to George not he "didn't" so yeah that's kinda something
that wasn''t a voice guy that was AI talking and no he's not impressed
George wasn’t an IT shadow so he wouldn’t have heard the voice. Judge meadows was IT shadow so she would of heard the voice, probably which led her to drinking so heavily
i think it's because he wasn't part of IT.
Is the safeguard turning off the pumps and letting the silo flood?
damn
Wait what
No it's way worse...
😂 it's way worse 😂😂😂 hint [nanites]
Way worse than just flooding the silo
not far off the mark!!!! nice work.
I think its more strange how Solo has survived food-wise for decades in the vault,.. there's no farm area there. At least those outside have accesss to the farming areas.
Basically, as well as all the computers and artefacts, the vault seemingly has a lifetime supply of food, including (ice cream!)
Since there is a safeguard now, I wonder why the vaults are set up to withstand anything
Arrow girl kept taking me out of the scenes with her bad acting
cringiest thing ive watched of all time
Mostly because she was pretty annoying
What you felt about her is what the director wanted the audience to feel 😁

** Also, sorry to correct, but I caught that Chase and Tess had Benny - Rick and Audrey's half brother before they died in the airlock - according to Eater. Rick and Audrey have the baby.
Thanks for your recap
How does that explain the environmental disaster outside?
@@martincallahan263 the ai would've done it on the reset. with whatever. nukes, nano-machines, chemicals, etc.
Its definitely strange. Did the algorithm write the pact? The order? Or did the founders make the algorithm and those documents
@@J-11mph maybe the AI was a tool of the founders that became sentient and took over everything, or it got sentient way before and "the founders" are part of it's mind control plot, or just puppets who don't know they are puppets.

I didn't read the books but am assuming the 51st Silo is the ACTUAL server room for the Algorithm and for all the Silos; and that the Safeguard is a self-destruct.
The safeguard is whatever they pit in the water to make the people forget
The tunnel reminds me of the tunnel in FROM and the Winden cave. full of mysteries
You say no spoilers, but that bit about her returning her own silo sure feels like one.
I think you nailed it there.

I'm guessing the windmills shown I this episode are there for a reason as is the toy the kid is playing with that seems like a noise maker for a new years eve party.
Well severed is not an uncommon word, but if that were true then that’s awesome. Severance is probably the best tv show on Apple right now.
i like your idea of the rebellion crushed and the rebels gathered together in the cafeteria/jail as we see Juliet reappear from over the hill.
safeguard is run by Silo 1 in case a silo has gone rouge, it kills everyone who lives inside that silo by releasing Gas.
It was really unbelievable to me that Solo and Juliet wouldn't hear a baby cry in that Silo.
Maybe they are too far away, but I get ya.
This episode was the best the whole season
The sheriff’s “hand slipped” when he shot Russel apparently. Also we still don’t know what Russel was “lying” about
So the algorithm says “don’t SPEAK this to anyone” so that is why Meadows decoding Quinn’s message did not trigger the Safeguard, and so we can assume Lucas’ disclosure that Quinn told him about the door will also not trigger the safeguard on a technically? Or is it now triggered?
What I want to know is how meadows or Jules for that matter get back out after getting to the bottom of that rope, its like a hundred foot free hand rope climb, I'd wager few men could manage it either (looking at you Lucas)
Or what if they flood the silo like the first rebellion and that’s what the safeguard initiative is 😮 and that’s what happened to the silo solo is in.
