    Making barely any progress in 10 episodes is crazy.
    I was most hyped for Juliette’s story but honestly Bernard stole the show for me this season in having the most interesting moments.

      yeah, hes for sure got the most meat on his bones when it comes to character development, he's slipping more and more into the role of "tragic villain" I think..
      a person forced into choices that he knows will hurt innocent people but chose to carry those sins for what he really believes is necessary to keep the silo from being destroyed, That doesn't make him a nice person but I'd say he's a more forgivable villain than Sim's who's far more interested in his own pursuit of power within the Silo
      Heavy is the head that wears the crown, as they say

      Well she's an engineer so she fixes things and seeing her and Solo bond and solve problems is interesting too. • @mrdynamitehee
      @mrdynamitehee 16 дней назад +6

      @ - we already saw Juliette fix something major - the massive Silo generator in the 3rd ep of season 1. We already have that insight into her character, didn’t need to see 8 eps of it again in slow, painful motion this season. Or long scenes of her recovering from random infections and the bends (to what end?!). The main Silo stuff is just okay, but you can tell how much they’re trying to stretch everything out to spread it over 10 eps. It just means progressively diminishing returns all round. Such a pity.

    All these theories and not one theory about how SLOW the pace of this series is...AND ON PURPOSE!!!! Juliet could have thrown a new suit back on and went back to her silo in one episode...but noooooo. She had to meet a quak, get an infection, overcome a fear of water and become a d@mn deep sea diver, get the bends, hang out under water for a while and get shot with an arrow by a teenager with no apparent reason to even have a bow and arrow. Now in EP 9 we have to sit through the acquaintance process...then once acquainted we find out that the teenagers need something...Juliet will surely have to help them with whatever that need is before she has her suit returned to her. In the last 10 seconds of the season finale she's gonna show up on the camera back at here silo. We might not even get to see the silo's reaction to her returning. You can literally skip 50% of this "intellectual curiosity snail-athon" and still get the whole story! Most of this show is just filler between plot points! and I hate myself for being hooked in!!!!!!

      @@imalwaysright They are following the books. Jules spends a lot of time in Silo 17 in Dust. The second book Shift covers the who, what when where and why of the silos. Not sure when or if they are going to cover that book.

    • @nguyendat8292
      @nguyendat8292 17 дней назад +5

      Lol. I assume you don’t read the book because Juliette’s timeline is almost exactly like in the first book (minus some details/stories change), which these 2 seasons are based on. I don’t want to spoil anything so keep an open mind otherwise you’ll be disappointed because some won’t be answered as you’re hoping for.

    • @imalwaysright
      @imalwaysright 17 дней назад +3

      I don't read the book, but even if the timeline matches, the quality of the storytelling could be better. Are the plot details the same as the book, because some of it is ridiculous. All the near-death and dangerous incidents. We know she's not gonna die. and it's unbelievable.

    • @nguyendat8292
      @nguyendat8292 16 дней назад +3

      @@imalwaysright I think the book focuses more on events rather than diving deeply into details, and it's a bloodbath, which you’ll see more of in the rebellion. The story does drag a bit with all the planning, but that’s understandable since there hadn’t been a rebellion in 140 years, so they likely didn’t know how to go about it. Some plot points in the book are also different, like the love story between Juliette and Lukas and their communication when she’s in a different silo, while Lukas is Bernard’s shadow after the failed cleaning (he was never sent to the mines). Sim barely appears in the book as well.
      I can forgive Juliette’s near-death experience now because I don’t recall anyone mentioning her fall into the trash chute in season 1-onto a ton of metal-then being dragged out immediately before getting hit. I think we’ll have to accept some unrealistic details since this is sci-fi, or maybe the human body has adapted to harsh conditions after generations of living in them.

  • @HarrisonNevel

    The Quinn's code has been broken for almost 3 weeks now by reddit users. It reads (spoiler alert):
    "If you’ve gotten this far you already know.
    The game is rigged.
    We think we’re the chosen ones but we’re only one of many
    The founders didn’t build a single silo
    They built fifty

    - Jules gets some life threatening injuries but miraculously survives
    - Jules gets her suit back after solving an episode long problem, then is faced with another cliff hanger problem that she will spend the finale solving before she can go back to Silo 18 in the last 5-10 minutes of the season
    - Mechanical continues to rebel against the silo without making any significant progress
    - Mechanical try to find out who the snitch is & Walk’s behavior makes them suspicious
    - Sims tries to regain his power
    - Camille meddles behind Sims’ back
    - Lukas continues to dig into the Salvador Quinn mystery and finds out nothing other than some vague information hinting that the Silo is bad & suspicious
    - Bernard is faced with some adversity in his effort to regain full control of the silo
    - Billings is faced with a conflict of interest between his faith in the pact & his morals
    and as for the crumbs of actual plot progression:
    - Some or all of the truth behind Solo’s identity & the backstory of the Silo 17 rebels is revealed. Will likely underwhelming relative to the amount of build up
    - Answers are given about Camille’s shady behavior (maybe)

LITERALLY nothing is happening i want to put my attention on something but you could pick a random scene from any episode thus far and juliette would be underwater, mechanical would be breaking into things, sims and camille are scheming. like there is nothing substantial happening or moving the story forward. book pacing ≠ tv pacing. different mediums for a reason. half the plot is others catching up on things we the audience already know and have known for a long time while the mysteries stay locked behind cheap cliffhangers.

    My worry is the Lucas will open the doors to another Silo on the bottom level and it will be to Solo's silo and a bunch of water is gonna take him out (hopefully temporarily). In doing so the water level will lower and Juliette will tell the others she "fixed the pump" and so the they (which I think are classmates of Solo) will see the receding water and let her into the their entrance to the legacy and give her access to the suit. I hope Lucas survives. But I'm not sure if Bernard will be usurped by Lucas to become the true head of IT, or if someone like Sims or Camille or Mechanical or Lucas takes him out. I think the Legacy in their Silo will just let Sims use the Legacy or any other Head of any Department if they actually get access (it would be fun to see Knox ooooh and aaah over the tech of the Legacy). I think all the heads normally get access but when the last rebellion happened the new head of IT made it so only they had access. Maybe there wasn't a Mayoral Shadow (or also offed in rebellion) and the offed the Head of Mechanical so only IT had access to it and wrote the pact to ensure no more rebellions. I think it was new Head of IT and they probably just made a new Mayor without telling them about the Legacy. I don't buy that Salvador did the wipe and confiscation in the way Bernard says. I think it was Salvador who helped the rebellion. Either started it or allowed it to happen after their Leaders thought to stop rebellions they needed to erase the knowledge. Maybe something like Shadow of IT, Head of Judicial with Shadow, and Mayor on one side with Head of Mechanical with Shadow, Head of IT (Salvador) and Mayoral Shadow on the other. Shadow of IT erases records, Judicial takes books, and Mayor offed before new shadow is chosen since old shadow would have been removed as Shadow by the acting Mayor right after defection to prevent any unauthorized access. Salvador probably hid the message incase the records were all erased (their side lost) and Bernard is kinda fibbing who actually did the erasure since he was probably watching Lucas talking to the descendants and gave him some "secret info" that would help convince them to trust Lucas. I kinda want their Silo to just have a happy ending with Bernard gone, Lucas Head of IT, Sims Head of Judicial on board to protect his family, & Juliette arrives to become Mayor and their Silo must prepare for the reality that maybe they are the last one that is left that is functioning as intended.

    Those teenagers who attacked Solo do have food since there are cats, rats, and dogs in the silo; that's why the bow and arrow are used. They were just like Solo, left behind in this silo. They looked younger than Solo because they were not the kids who got left behind; their parents were. Since they have very little education and don't have that birth control thing, they started to have their own children.
    Seriously, I don't know what will happen next since the show changed so much from the book, and it has been going so slowly. They planned to do 4 seasons, and we're close to midway, but the show has only reached the second half of book 1. My guess is that they might skip most of book 2 since it is mostly a prequel to book 1, and Juliette barely exists in it; the production then only has to cover books 1 and 3.

    Season 2 is a masterclass in turning a great show into an absolute joke. I came in hoping to dive deeper into the origins of the silo and learn what’s happening in other silos, but instead, we’re served a warmed-over mess of recycled rebellion plots and pointless scenes that go nowhere. It’s like they asked, “How can we make this as uninspired as possible?”
    Juliette, the star of Season 1, is now practically a side character. She’s got maybe 20 minutes of screen time, and when she does show up, it’s for meaningless nonsense. Remember her epic water-dive sequence? First, she dives into the water-cut. Then she comes out of the water-cut. Then she finds blood-cut. Wow, edge-of-your-seat storytelling there! Whahahah, who thought that was a good idea? And Solo? He’s devolved into the human equivalent of background noise.
    The only character I’m remotely enjoying now is Bernard. He’s the only one left who feels like he has some depth or purpose. Simmons was a favorite too-once. Now, he’s been reduced to a bitter, resentful detective whose only ambition is to be Bernard’s shadow. And guess what? He does nothing either! It’s like they decided to neuter every compelling character and leave us with a cast of aimless extras.
    And let’s talk about the tragic attempts at inclusivity. It’s painfully obvious and hilariously overdone. Everyone in the silo seems to have a black wife or husband. Whahahaha, even Juliette’s love interests are all Indian! All the sheriffs are black now too-except Juliette. Did the writers have a checklist for this? It’s so forced it’s distracting. Representation is great, but when it’s shoved down our throats this blatantly, it feels like a parody of itself.
    With two episodes left, it’s clear this season is a disaster. Either they’ll rush everything into a chaotic finale or leave us with yet another cliffhanger-probably Juliette and Lukas finally talking on the phone. Lukas and Juliette haven’t even entered the vault yet, by the way, so I’m guessing they’re still working on their lines. This season is such a mess that I wouldn’t be surprised if the finale is just Bernard sipping tea while the rest of the cast stares at walls.
    Season 2 is a tragic downfall. The pacing is horrible, the characters have been gutted, and the story is going nowhere. Save yourself the pain and skip it unless you enjoy watching a show collapse under its own bad decisions.

    I am confused about the cryptic message from Quinn. Before this episode was aired, someone on the Internet was able to decode the message correctly without knowing the primer which is Quinn’s The Pact book. How is this possible?

    I'm wondering if the bow and arrow girl and her friends found a secret passage from another silo. Or perhaps they are drilling sideways from one silo to the next? They definitely seem like scavengers.

    The story is really cool and they made a very good work in building misteries and tension. However the fact that it release an episode a week is making it perceive slower than it actually is, because a week wait for little progress is exhausting. I really like all the stories in the main silo, for the other silo is going a little too slow and they should have shown more of the secrets of the silo in solo bunker instead of just by Bernard. But I’ve got so hunger for answers that i spoiled myself

    The television series has garnered my appreciation; however, I have several concerns regarding its pacing. It appears that the creators are deliberately extending the narrative to provide background information without disclosing too much of the plot. As noted by other viewers, dedicating an entire season to exploring backstories and interpersonal relationships seems excessive. Additionally, when considering the implications of radiation, it is important to differentiate between ground bursts and air bursts, as well as the number of nuclear detonations. The residual radiation from such events could persist for approximately 20 to 40 years. Therefore, if the characters have been underground for over 300 years, it is reasonable to conclude that radiation levels would be negligible. Moreover, the groundwater over the span of 335 years would likely have been contaminated, resulting in lethal consequences for anyone residing underground.

    Martha is so insufferable! If she really cared for her ex she would've stayed with her. I feel like I could've skipped 5-8 and wouln't have missed a thing! I hope this is the last of filler episodes and we see some change

    At this rate apparently they will be stretching Wool to 3 seasons. That seems a bit much and the cause for the dragging pace. Or episode 10 will be a speed run of wrapping up that book, which looks doubtful.

    I’ve really enjoyed the way the show has fleshed out and enriched so much of the book - which proceeds at an extremely brisk pace in comparison. It has really elaborated on the lore. Unfortunately all the benefit of this has been towards the silo 18 side of story, which has necessitated dragging out the silo 17 part of the book to ensure the timeline matches. Silo 17 is by far the most compelling and mysterious part of the story, and dragging this out is very frustrating. It was a bit of a fail on the writers.
