Try using rivnuts where fixing the the metal brackets to the van structure, I had a VW Transporter 4WD all kitted out with Sortimo racking some years back and I believe the van is still being used with the racking and rivnuts still holding...15 years on !
You need an insertion tool but they are not expensive nowadays.
im using rivnuts in my van to the only why to go
I just commented on rivnuts then saw your comment. Rivnut for the win
Somehow I expected a dropped mug the moment you picked it up 🤣
To fasten the racking to the van you can use rivnuts or just normal rivets and a strong glue. Instead of angles for the shelves, try using blocks of wood onder the shelve like you used for the stackers. Some flexible glue can go a long way
You inspired me. The inside of my van (almost done!) Is blacked out. Looks 1000x better than just plain wood
Whoops 😬 🤣🤣 trying to give me a plug and ruins my mug 🤣
he'll need a new one now!
That's what she said.... 🙈🤣
Deliberate? Or clumsy nick ?
You should get him a plastic mug, no excuse to destroy, I mean accidently throwing the mug on the floor.
@@stuarth540 🤣🤣 he’s a proper butter fingers 🤣
I saw you dropping that before you did haha
12:52 I get a mention 😍 vans looking good man 👌🏻
Instead of self tapping to the bodywork how about using some rivinuts? And some aluminium angle to support the shelf rather than a small bracket?
Thanks for sharing. Your van storage awesome. I like to do same like your van.
Using tradify and xero is a game changer👌
Try using some battens to support the full depth of the shelf, use so grab adhesive to which will give the wood a little play to stop things rattling loose.
I was one that subscribed after watching the none payment video! It's one of the things that all trades can relate to.... the amazing levels of arseh*leness that clients can get to 👍
Iv been driving with the same wooden rack for 7 years now. The key seems to be that the deviders are slotted a few ml into the crossing plate, wood glue and staple gun. No squeaking or loose dividers.
Working from a van 3 things are so important
Lighting, plenty of.
storage boxes, plenty of.
Racking to take the storage boxes.
Those work benches look great, wooden shelving will usually wear out given the amount it suffers in a work van - repairs dead easy though.
You could maybe use some washing line pegs or bulldog clips for your wire reels on your door to hold your ends in place
It's Pretty heavy plywood you installed. I recommend any Airplane Boeing has very light weight plywood. Thumb up Cheer!
The sleeving reels mate, you should be able to 3d print something to grab the loose ends or use a bulldog clip. As someone else has said, use rivnuts and large steel brackets to hold that cable reel shelf and that should never come loose again. Shame about the mug, I spat my tea out when I watched that!
11.49, if you look on the earth sleeving reels there are small cardboard knockouts to solve your issue. Just tuck the sleeving inside the hole to stop it unraveling.... 👍🏻
Instead of using angle brackets just put a bit of 2x2 the length on the shelves then screw down from the top and into the side. This will be a lot stronger and less likely to snap :)
Excellent work and thanks for the awesome content stay safe and take care
I’m on call and every time your phone rings it scares me lol
Hey matey,..
In the time it took to fix that racking, you pair could have rewired a council estate...😁
You should see the back of my van , ffs 😁
Another one, blank of a 300mm pice of conduit, fix to board on back door and tuck the ends of those cables into tube, or tubes, stops them unrolling all over the place, or use a couple of screws with washers to hold some bungee cord to the board on back door..tuck the ends of cable behind it...sorted
Will you do a video of the velocity rogue 4.5 unilite back pack? Or a whats in my bag episode?
What’s the power bank you’ve got there? Any links?
Where do you get your rubber flooring from ?
Instead of brackets you could use some wooden battens to sit the shelves on. Someting like 18mm*44m
2:05 Aww he killed it 😆😆😆
Did you do a video of how you installed your van lights
What’s the depth of the racking at the left and right rear of the van? What width does it leave the usable floor space, above the van vaults?
Try Rivnuts for fixing the shelving, its changed my life
Great video 😀 typo in the description you put hank you to tradify 👍
Fixed thank you
Angle brackets aren't shelf brackets. Battens needed on all four sides with all that weight and movement, and 1x1 uprights. Screw and glue and you'll never need to redo it.
Can you do a video on the veto testing bag keep the video coming 👍
Good video what do you keep in the van vaults?
I finally ripped out my wooden racking after the L brackets broke for the last time and self tappers ripped out of the metal of the van frame. Ive just ordered my Bott smart racking at a cost of 3.5k🥴 I will do a vid before and after it's a L3H2 Transit.
I'm thinking about going it alone but haven't got a gold card. What quals you got bud or do you even need the gold card? Cheers
Starting to sound desperate 🤣
😂😂😂
Thanks for sharing !
At 4.30 you said you knew you had a some squeeking going on... I had the same problem in my van.. couple of mouse traps solved the problem 🤷♂️
Do you have a link to the Stanley trays with metal catches.
When will Adam be getting the other van?
Contact Bott, they may do you a deal. The metal shelving is at a reasonable price compared to Sortimo, and Naggy got that sewing up. Quick, before Jordan does a van video and offers a 12 week course on washing and maintaining a van 😃
Hey mate, what year is Adam upto in his apprenticeship? ?
Aw man! Once you see it, then sadly you cannot unsee it. You need to get your van another registration number. What I suddenly started seeing is "BIG KNOB"
1:40 - LMAO! Oh dear! Oh dear! 😂😂😂😂
Nice tidy van! i like it! :D

Eventually I think you are gonna need to get proper metal racking it’s annoying but it’s gonna save you time and effort in maintaining it. Remember time is money.
Butterfingers Bundy
You really mugged him off there
Always a worry how much overall weight we lug around, often unnecessarily
Is that music not trade marked
do you check your view daily, weekly or do you just notice high views
Daily mate
I though JBeck was on for a minute 1:40
I spy some AirPod Pros, how are you getting on with them?
When’s Adam going to be using the old van
He’s not. They want to spend their days together and insurAnce too much
Jordan's too busy chasing electric poles on fire.
No he’s implementing his 2021 business plan so he can retire to Spain
Where did you get your alloys from?
eBay mate
I think you need some nice high vis wear to bump up the subscribers 🤣
Jordan’s posts have been a bit dull recently, so unsubscribed to reduce his lead 😂 Will resubscribe once you’re ahead 😉
Any chance you and adam can smash plates whilst playing and dancing to zorba the Greek??? 😂😂😂😂🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Probably get more views than any thing he’s done.
In a pink tutu 😀😀😀😂😂😂🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
It’s a working van nick, they get dirty and damaged, don’t be to precious all it ya tart
You can’t beat wood,oh wait
Love the videos you do, especially the big fluffy unicorn 🦄 lol. Ummm so the problem with the racking is to much weight on the little L bracket, have you thought about doing what Adam has done on the left side pack out system. Instead of using the L bracelet use wood with glue and screws. Make it more secure and save you time fixing the problem every week or so. Maybe get Adam to do it. Keep up the good work you do pal.
Arh. Adam ringing.
Metal racking is a nightmare. Wood easier to modify
Amazing Amazing shit in a bucket
should of used 1Holes 1 holes mate 😂
Sorry,
Aaaaaaaarrrrrrgggghhhhhhh! Its the suicide music again! 😮😢
Jordan is obviously feeling that Bundy pressure and has had to unleashed his ultimate weapon - 'The Cory and Oscar show'. He's even invested in a camera man. Definitely feeling the heat.
Just wanna give a thankyou for recommending the van vault sliders. Van got broken into whilst on-site on Friday. Fuckers tried but couldn’t get in. Saved me 2 grand there my man 👍🏽
We are so sorry that this happened to you on-site on Friday but over the moon to hear that your Van Vault Sliders kept your tools secure! Do you mind if we share your story on our social pages? :)
@@vanvault5597 absolutely feel free to share👍🏽
Come on PUSH - Nick to overtake Jordan - PUSH Harder... PS thanks Nick you all the support and love for GSH Electrical and my daughter Vienna 💕🦾.
Try putting some upright wooden posts at the back of the shelves to take some weight and take the strain off the angle brackets .
Awesome mate! I'm getting my brand new van soon and I'm going to use the Milwaukee Packout system for everything 👍
Packout is great, my vans filled with it, the only thing is the Uk hasn’t got the Milwaukee shelving or drawers yet, so I find myself forever unstacking and restacking the cases etc. Tough, looks great, functional, but it lacks the ability to be used well in vans atm.
@@garethwatson7999 I know I'm waiting for the shevles and racking system. Hopefully, be here by end of month 👍
You won't regret that mate
No way
The unit is literally the thing of dreams... if your as sad as I am, I’d live in the place 😂
Sad but stick with it you will have one soon enough maybe even an apprentice...
@@mathman0101 I’ve got an apprentice already math 😃 usually hiding somewhere on his phone
I still think making your own shelving beats any metal made versions. My van came with metal racking was great to get out on the road with it, but the new wooden layout is 100% better 👌 😎
You need a rivnut, thank me later 😜
Amazingly organised! 've ry nice. Too bad about the "accident"! 😉🤣 Oh dear, oh dear!
Love your complete set up mate, must be so much easier having a unit you can store everything/keep it all safe etc. Great stuff mate👍🏽👍🏽
Them knipex flush cut snips are great for cable ties. Stops the next guy slashing his arm
Smashing video😂
What is that 3d printer called if you don't mind me asking
More of joiners job if you ain't confident but instead of using L shaped brackets, route the thickness of the ply shelf into the side panel a third of the material is your groove size then glue and screw. They will never move with vibration like mechanical fixings and L shaped brackets and stuff. Just pay a decent joiner instead of making things with zip ties and metal brackets mate.
Hi Nick. I recommend to use RIVET NUTS in your van. They are much stronger. Regards from Hungary. An another Sparky guy.
Anyone in the Bromley/Orpington area looking for an apprentice/electricians mate I would like to send a CV if you are looking thanks.
hi nick hope this helps for fixings in girders at height hammer on girder gripper clips for cable anthing heavier a short lenght of uni strut the width of the gider your fixing to with two girder clamps this will cut your time on the job and make it safer for working at height kind regards Steve
Oh fuck! ya mug 😂😂😂 your face was priceless 😂😂😂
I from malaysia.. i am eletrician.. i look very smart racking this van 👍
Get a rivnut gun that should give you better fix for your shelf into steel
Glad it’s not just my van that’s 1 a mess at the end of the week and 2 have squeaky racking
Nice Nick. Very nice.
Where’s the rubber matting from mate
Olá meu amigo, tudo bem ?
Re shelving, why didn’t you just run a piece of 1x1 timber underneath the shelf’s both sides and along the back, spread the weight load.
I did in the end bud 👍
How did you wired up the lights inside ? They keep burning ? My lights turn off depending on the battery .. when eco mode kicks in they die to save battery ...
Butter fingers
that poor mug
Question time:
When you go to a house that has had a new consumer unit installed in let's say 2015 and it is a plastic one, would you recommend to the customer to have it upgraded to the current regulations of a metal one. Keeping in mind most customers aren't really to fussed about it and won't want another consumer unit upgrade so soon after.
If you would recommend it how would you go about recommending an upgrade? 👍
Don’t know about nick but I would be recommending rcbo s over metal enclosures, nothing wrong with plastic if all torqued up correctly.
@@supersparks9466 yeah RCBO's all the way. I think that is kind of the point of the metal though haha the key word you used was "if" 🤣🤣
You havnt understood me, you’re question was to advise customer to swap cu for metal. I wouldn’t necessarily advise that on its own if the cu was fairly new and had rcd and mcbs. You would be better to advise about the advantages of rcbo s , then you can give them a metal cu as well.
@@supersparks9466 yeah I know what you mean. Have to take into consideration that majority of customers don't care about their cu they will say but I have never had any problems why would I spend £400+ to do something that isn't a problem. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
