We did a full Lutron lighting controlled house this year. Every single light was wired as a radial back to the Lutron panel with each keypad (switch) ran back to the Lutron panel or in series dependent on the design. It works perfectly fine but definitely took a bit of understanding when we first started.
Really enjoying watching this project. This and the battery/solar install are really informative and interesting. Hope you’re doing ok with the meds and the other bits and pieces you’ve talked about. Keep up the good work!
4:37 It was quite relaxing watching you just work without the commentary (no offense intended at all haha). I've never actually seen a perspective of work like this before. I has me wanting to see a whole task from start to finish done in this format haha!
damn i love the tech of this house! ok its complex but hey, for what you want you need perfection... go beyond the norms and get it! 😊🎉🎉 nick, your right to want this setup! your doing really well on this, bit out of your normals but its a step into the future 😁 hats off to the customer, this is one heck of a cool place with the tech! nicely done and thought out! 🎉🎉
The control 4 stuff is very locked down, officaly you need an dealer to add any new equipment to thier kit. Allthough im told their is a jail break. Recently went wombling(with offical premissison) off a shut down shown room all the good stuff has been stripped out it was intetesting to see what remained.
Super sparky experts, how do you know when you're being ripped off by your sparky? I've been quoted for some work and I have a sneaking suspicion it's rather high! Are there any signs to look for? I have a garden room which is currently supplied by a 6mm SWA with its own 2 way CU. It literally supplies 3 indoor sockets and one outdoor socket. I'm having a hot tub installed and asked for a quote for a 32A isolator and tail to supply it. My sparky has told me the CU needs changing for a new one with RCBO's. I won't say what I've been quoted, but I'll say it's 4 digits. This seems excessive to me for a CU change, a rotary isolator and about 10 metres of 6mm SWA. 🤷🏽♂️ 🤷🏽♂️ 🤷🏽♂️ And this is Midlands, not London!
oh no he discovered hotel light systems that can be BUS/CAN controlled to all switch off for an entire building. Softly. Without stressing the lamps and causing premature failure.
I was thinking the same thing watching this. And it would be neater. Nice install this though. I have had nothing to do with these lighting controllers.
@@Sparks9133 if this was “site work” I’d completely agree with you. But if you watch Nicks videos he goes above and beyond what is required for an install. I’m not saying what he has done is wrong, it’s completely fine.
@@StorminBriski nick is slow by the time his got all his tools out i would have got the job done and be home counting the money while nick is carefully putting his tools on the floor all neatly bless him
@@Sparks9133I know what you mean. He just does things his way. We used to have 2 squads of 4 lads that did an occupied house rewire each a day. The local authority wanted speed and quality (they never got both). Mind you this was about 10 years ago and we only charged about £1200 per rewire. So about £12,000 a week for the 10 houses. I think most sparks charge more than that for 1 rewire now.

I am not an electrician but love watching your videos top notch work
Put the lock off on but left the board cover off 😂😂😂
ssssshhhh
😂😂😂😂
Great video again, the longer fischer nylon plugs are a godsend for longer screws although you can daisy chain two smaller ones, clipping off the end
I bought a cheap endoscope with screen off Amazon, absolute game changer for finding cables in walls and where they go

Love the videos. It looks like some of the cables around the bay are out of zones?
Their brilliant Nick, those junction boxes. My ‘go to’ for junction boxes now. Great vid mate!
Thanks Nick! The cameras and editing are great. An interesting project indeed. Cheers
Those grip-its are fantastic. Used them to hold 25mm3c to plasterboard. Just a shame they're so expensive!

Where is the sleeving dispenser from?
Another great video Nick. You're knocking ot out of the park these days!! Lovely stuff.
I wish 5 Amp sockets for switched lighting circuits were more common, even become a standard fitting. They're so useful and practical.

Times good as gives as sense of how long things have taken!
Why is your PE wire not sleeved from the factory? seems like a lot of trouble for the tradesmen but not the producer of the cable :D
He really needs a picture cause youll never label it enough to document the complexity of this. Great series
nick what is the bit extender u use for ur 12v drill
What's the time Mr Wolf? I'm really liking this project dude, seems like a good one to be on.
Whats the bit holder you use for the impactor?
What is that drill bit please
Ncv non contact voltage same as your fluke pen
Expert electrical code isn't working for me!
Loving the videos Nick 👌🏻
Grat Video. Quick observation though, as you've used plastic lock nuts on the metal flexible conduit, does this mean that they arent bonded?
Ever seen those folks in the gym when they’ve just done arms and they “point” to the next machine……. 👈💪
definatly keep the time references

Please make that joint box have a din rail, yes wago’s are brilliant but a din rail will be more fitting for all the efforts being put in.

Nah wagos all the way time is money much quicker make more money.come on boys switch on

What time is it Nick
Mr Name Withheld has a crazy looking garage space going on , is he a data engineer?.
Quickwire joints are so much easier
Interesting video. There’s more electrical stuff in the garage than your unit.
Well I like the 3 pin 5A outlets
Great video Nick Mate 👍
Nick...you definatley dont need anyone talking to you , on this job..!
I really enjoy watching your videos. They’re really interesting. Is amazing. What is out there? Thanks for sharing it with us.
Are you a bot?
Lay off Amazon and you’ll make your first million 😂😂😂😂

Does the customer get a discount for all the time you spent with brand recognition? Or do you have your cake and eat it?
What’s that got to do with you?
