They’re called shear nuts. They’re used on a lot of things like security fencing so that you can do them up easily with a socket, but once the head shears they’re a pain to get off again without the right tools and some patience! When you’ve sheared a load of paling off a fence, then the customer decides they want the corner post moved somewhere totally different, being the apprentice it’s always my job to try and get them off again 🤦♂️
As a steel fabricator I helped my mate fix his new slim slider van vault into his brand new transit connect. Instead of drilling the floor I made a frame that bolted into the existing floor tie down points and the van vault then bolted into that. 👍
There’s no other feeling than a new van and when you kit it all out knowing that the layout and cleanliness is only going to last for one job 🤣. They are great vans mate enjoy 👍
Just done something similar with my van (only a combo so had to design it well) slider one side, space for steps and 2 x fixings trays the other, false floor and space for my hand tools at the front / sliding door end. Working well for me so far
Great job, iv done similar, I have 4 slider draws, and 2 boxes built i my custom, with sliding rear racking and a slot in the middle floor to roof for my ladders and leaves ect.
Where was Adam in the boarding out of the van great planing on shelf arrangements Adam could have climbed in the sliding boxes for u lol can't wait to see finish out shelving
How do they say it "well jel"? Looks very nice Mr Bundy. You'll have to get some nice seat covers for those sausage mcmuffin bits that fall into the seat while you're driving 🤣.
A good dollop of "blue" (marine) grease over those bolts will protect them well nick! Really thick and resists splashes, and short term high pressure spray passes.
Nutserts or rivnuts are great for fittings in van. The tool is only £20. Black vans a very dark inside. I fitted white sticky back vinyl to the inside of the roof and 12volt LED strip by the roll from eBay get the silicone coated stuff. Makes it loads easier to find parts on your shelves. Smart looking van.
I’ve got a long wheel base custom, it was fully racked out in brand new bott smart racking the previous guy had installed and never used, I built two false floors, the bottom one houses a set of Zarges three ways and a set of 6treads. Second floor is about 4in higher and allows you to use the through loading still, totally mad blocking it having a roof rack is a pain in the backside for getting into car parks etc, then built a boxing against the bulkhead for a set of 5 treads that go width ways ☺️ works a treat. Van looks good though 👌
tidy van mate got the same one in blue! Also have the same slider drawers, was like deja vu watching this lol I put mine near the bulkhead with ladder racking above them.
I have a new Transit Connect, i am in a bit of a dilemma regarding secure storage, i ply lined and carpeted the roof and sides back in April. Now i am starting out on my own, this seems a great solution, adding a false floor on top. I already have a fully plywood floor with sound deadening underneath. A Transit Custom would've been ideal, so i need to make the most of what i have. On a side note, that front grille looks part.
Hi Nick ,I also own two of those exact van sliders like you . Try and keep the heavy stuff towards the back as the runner wheels end up wearing out inside. I've got all the m18 gear to the back and test gear in the front. Dividers can be bought but it's cheaper to cut your own. As far a stuffing about with bolts etc over here in Australia we use 500 series tek screws which cut their own thread even through thick H beams. One surprising thing is that although Van vault is a UK company they sell them to us cheaper than you get it in the UK. Great videos mate , I wish we had something similar downunder. Dave in Western Australia
There is no balloon payments with PCH leasing. Balloon payments are with PCP. You can also get HP and CS with a balloon. Not common as far as I’m aware.
Finally a recommendation/review and van plan that's actually sold me on whether to finally swap from a VW transporter to a Transit or not. Got to admit I'd ideally want to shift the Sliders to the right so I could still use the internal pipe hatch but looks like I'd have to bolt the sliders to each other or get the wider slider. Looking forward to seeing final layout!
Adam7890 It’s like this and we have to be honest! Fords are shite, I wouldn’t piss on one if it was on 🔥😂 VW make great well built machines. I too have a T6.1 4 motion, absolutely fantastic. Hats off to the Germans. 👍
Adam7890 You should look at kitting your van out with Sortimo shelving units and accessories. Fantastic products, costs a bit but well worth the money and the just transfer from one Transporter to another when you decide to sell.
Love the new van mate a little envious 🤣🤣🤣 plan is to keep the van for another 2 years then buy a new van 🤞Lithium grease for the wd-40 range for the runners
Check out Ajax alarm they do a 12v transmitter to link to home alarm and do a PIR with built in camera and siren. If want over kill can get smoke cloak :)
Doing better than me 🤣 had my new VW 4 weeks now and I've ply lined the walls and doors. Need some 10x5 ply to do a one piece floor now. Not easy to get stuff right now.
You need oil for the bearings not a degreaser like wd40. Skateboard bearing oil would be ok. Ps I like your electrical knowledge that you are showing us all , thank you
WD40 will act as a solvent on the bearings and dissolve the grease. Get yourself some proper grease or remove all of the current grease and WD40 and spray everything with Wurth Dry Lube (helps prevent muck building up as it isn’t as sticky as grease).
Hi nick have just received a new transit custom. Did you upgrade many of the security features on your van? Hace noticed the new customs have changed the front barrel lock on the drivers door.
Would a stocked veto pro pac Tec PAC fit in the drawers , perhaps lying down? Recently got a custom too, and am toying with how to set up. Love the idea of 2 drawers. Also how much of a gap will be needed behind van to pull out?
Would they not both fit next to each other both opening from the side door?. False floor at the front half and full height floor space by the back doors? Your existing ply racking would probably fit straight back in then? 🤷🏻♂️
Very Impressive! Nice ‘new to you’ Van. Noticed on your old one the Vinyl has a gmail address, I assume you’ll update that when the new one is Vinyl’d? Looks very professional inside. Maybe spray paint any visible Ply black ?
You not going to put LED Strips in the back for more light? Also a good idea to install small LED Light Bars on the roof outside for those late nights.
A good splodge of copper grease on the under body when you've drilled the holes then silicone seal for waterproofing. Can I make one valid point.. You tradesmen love making van tour & build videos and in this video you touch upon van security, dead locks trackers etc. With respect you are your own worst enemy as your advertising your equipment security and integrity of your vehicle to the world via youtube
Looks good Nick, just wondering will the ply floor block your access to the panel where you can change the rear light bulbs? (Assuming they're accessed from the inside)
Well done Nick, we have just got a new van (68 plate) we were contemplating leasing as you described but we worked it out it would cost us £5,000 in the long term Interested in the deadlocks you were going to get fitted any links .
You’ve gotta ‘Out Pimp’ DSS Dan’s van! I’m wondering if there’s any/many companies that can custom vans out like this? If not, there must a huge gap in the market.
I’ve not seen one with the ford grille like the trucks have. Is that just a custom thing that the bloke before you fitted or is it something ford put out?

Grumpy One, That sounds a great way of doing it, no drilling the floor, genius 👍🏼
That’s a cracking van, good choice. I am loving the front grille. Thoroughly decent of you to save the old one for Adam.
The 2018/19 transit custom is a dream to drive. Desperately trying to get my boss to get me one when mine gets replaces lol
Welldone mate 👍
Add a fire extinguisher, you never know.
Nicely done on the fitting out!
Shut up mate
There’s no other feeling than a new van and when you kit it all out knowing that the layout and cleanliness is only going to last for one job 🤣. They are great vans mate enjoy 👍
Happy new Van day.... That looks proper nice Nick

Great job Van. looks fantastic you work hard you need a new van you need a van that does your job it is brilliant
Time for a new reg plate “bundy 10”
😂
Congrats on the new van. It’s looking great so far. 👏
Looks good already mate 👌🏼 love the front grille 🔥
Thanks dude
Best of luck with the new van looks great good to see a hard work company doing well👍
Things are looking up 👍👍
tidy van mate got the same one in blue! Also have the same slider drawers, was like deja vu watching this lol I put mine near the bulkhead with ladder racking above them.
Don’t forget to leave access to your rear light clusters for bulb changes.! Looking good though. 👍🏻
Nice wheels and so so clean 🧱👍🏽

😂 Your making out like your old transit custom is a knacker, when I'm still rolling round in a 2004 transit 😂 be humble
Mate I’m still using my 1994 transit tipper 😂
The old ones are the best ones
@@transit1199 yep, I had a ‘17 transit crew cab , awful, constant electrical faults
Are you Irish?
The body work on the customs are too weak

I made a step ladder rack using galv conduit, ( sort of a U Shape both ends ) fixed to the top of the van .. they slide out nicely .. just an idea 👍
There is no balloon payments with PCH leasing. Balloon payments are with PCP.
You can also get HP and CS with a balloon. Not common as far as I’m aware.
£50 quid says you kerb the wheels and shut the rear doors wrong way in 3 months
Nice van bud and looking good on the inside to well done 👍🏻
Looking ace Nick 👍👍 definitely would love to see the finished product. Watched you on the Monday Club 👌
Monday Club ? 😳
Andy Kirwan here you go 👍

Very nice, would love to see a van tour when it's all finished 👍 true question is the numberplate the same as the one is the thumbnail? 😂
Lol Yeah man already in the works to get a van till done just finishing off the last few things
@@NBundyElectrical Coooool 👍

Resale value on a Ford is shit! Don’t do it VW is a far better van, don’t care what anyone thinks.
Adam7890

@Adam7890 I hope he takes out AA breakdown assist! I'd hate to see him doing a video at the side of the road!!😂😅
@Adam7890 No good!! In our game we need reliability on many platforms! I pity the lad who it was resold to!! Nick Bundy???😂😅
Jet rack do a ladder storage system that hangs from the roof and your ladder just clips in
Well done nick
That's quare sound giving the apprentice his own van
Love the new van mate a little envious 🤣🤣🤣 plan is to keep the van for another 2 years then buy a new van 🤞Lithium grease for the wd-40 range for the runners
Yeah unfortunately WD-40 is all I had available 😅
Definitely needs a big phat bass speaker in there somewhere lol
Get a jet-Rack for your ladders Nick, they're great.
You've funded this from flexicon endorsements haven't you Nick 😂
Fairplay it's mint 👌
For £155 he could have the number plate K20PEX
Nice one you deserve it but please get mechanical key deadlocks fitted too to your doors as well
Check out Ajax alarm they do a 12v transmitter to link to home alarm and do a PIR with built in camera and siren. If want over kill can get smoke cloak :)

@@grahamlush7140 lol true 😃
The heated seats in my Transit are great but never used the aircon, I do live in Cornwall after all.
You need oil for the bearings not a degreaser like wd40. Skateboard bearing oil would be ok. Ps I like your electrical knowledge that you are showing us all , thank you
Both in middle and leave the back clear for big stuff man.
Yeah I wouldn't put wd40 on bearings
WD40 will act as a solvent on the bearings and dissolve the grease. Get yourself some proper grease or remove all of the current grease and WD40 and spray everything with Wurth Dry Lube (helps prevent muck building up as it isn’t as sticky as grease).
Grease for bearings, oil for sliding surfaces
Agree. wd40 is almost like a detergent, great for breaking down gunk and freeing things up, but not so good as a long term lubricant.
Lovely van Nick. But not as nice as the rotiform wheels on that mk5 outside👌👌👌😍
Fit a towbar will be handy for trails and cherry picker
sweet ride dude. Nice.
I used screws and 6mm penny washes on mine.......im getting worried now.
I did have ply floor though?
basically spraying WD40 on the bearings and runners you have just stripped off all the lubricant that came with the vaults from the factory.
Doesn't one use grease on bearings? WD40 is too thin to be a lubricant. "Water Dispersal, 40th Attempt"
@@bitTorrenter WD40 is also a degreaser...... :)
Great content man! Really helped me out, thanks 🙏🏼
Lovely looking van mate. Hope i get a new one soon.
Love the van bro 👍❤ good work good videos
Are you worth keeping the sign writing if Adam is going to use it for your business?
they are shear nuts mate
It’s a Ford not a Ferrari😂😂
Wish i could afford to pay for a 19 plate transit outright.. joys of an Electrician hey.. money everywere ... 💪🏽💪🏽
Hi nick have just received a new transit custom. Did you upgrade many of the security features on your van? Hace noticed the new customs have changed the front barrel lock on the drivers door.

Sortimo all the way. No bolting to the floor.
Have you thought about using rivet nuts? Better than self tappers.
You'll regret putting them at the back doors ....I did 😂.
Yep! Always one of those "Oh, a works van. Lets park 50mm off their back bumper" people.
Awesome job.
You should add carpet to the wood so it look nice and the fury won't show
What alarm system did you go for? Just sorting mine out.
Wd4o is a cleaner not an oil just saying 🤣.
Oil or grease it for a better glide.. 👍

Once you've sheard the nuts you need to cut the bolts flush otherwise you can just lock two nuts on the bolts to loosen them.
Has the sideboard lining being painted? Mine is wood colour
A good splodge of copper grease on the under body when you've drilled the holes then silicone seal for waterproofing.

add a beer fridge ....you never know lol
The shear nuts seem pointless, you can't remove the bolts without a tool on the bolt head the other side (with draw removed) anyway.
Looks good Nick, just wondering will the ply floor block your access to the panel where you can change the rear light bulbs? (Assuming they're accessed from the inside)
Nice van Nick
Excellent job love the front of the van. What engine size is it? Look forward to the finished project.
Looking good, always liked the Customs - I see you have a pro pac - is it the 3 or 4 ? Weighing up which one to get and can't decide between them !
Great video, quick question How wide are the two units when together?
This dude's the James Hetfield of electrical work!
you should have used eather Lithium or Copper Grease on the Draw Runners! WD40 Can thin existing Grease
2:13 "look at the length on that" its how you use it not how big it is as she said
Auto as well ? Drove one of these yesterday, lovely drive 👏
