Dragonite then switched flamethrower with fly to compensate.
Clefable is one of the strongest mons in FR/LG. Absolute wall defensively with extremely good base HP and good sp defense and defense base stats, moonlight for healing, cosmic power which is OP, raising both defense and special defense, further building up the wall that is clefable, and an insanely diverse moveset. Just set up with some cosmic powers and moonlight, then sweep any trainer in the game with some good special attack moves of your choice.

My two favorite teams I used : Leaf green: Charizard, Nidoking, Raichu, Hitmonlee, Starmie, and Snorlax. Fire red: Venusaur, Raichu, Arcanine, Lapras, Aerodactyl and Marowak. Before I obtained Aerodactyl, I used Dodrio. Geting the thick club for Marowak was pain in the ass, but it was worth it.
Rhydon stronger than Nidoking. Idk Fearow vs Fearow, but probably Dragonite is stronger than both. Aerodactyl and Charizard also respectable Magneton vs Jolteon is a trade off of speed vs raw Sp Atk
Of course some of those Pokemon are stronger, but do remember that Rhyhorn needs to be 42 before getting to Rhydon. All those levels being underpowered was not to my taste. And carrying a weakling like Dragonair up to 52, there was no way I’d do that. Aerodactyl arrives at level 5, so it would need a strong grind before it could get to a respectable level. Alakazam would be great, but at the time, I just could not get trades, my friends did not own Gameboys, just large consoles.
So my team Blastoise (IMO best starter) Dragonite(dragon type) Magneton(only steel type) Snorlax (bulky monster) Golem (defense core) Clefable (filler)
The Team i used in Fire Red : Charizard , Nidoking , Primeape , Gyrados and Butterfree . The best team i ever used . You might think butterfree would be useless mid or end game . But it was very useful
My pokemon team in fire red is Charizard Nidoking Jolteon Hitmonlee Lapras And Gengar Is that a good one? Personally i pick this pokemon because they look cool lol😂
I did a LG playthrough that was in parallel to a FR 150/150 run. I did not expect going into the game that Slowbro would be my ace but my god was it phenomenal. I did the elite 4 and champion slightly under leveled with some EV training. Slowbro had STAB Psychic, Surf, with Ice Beam for Dragon coverage and Disable+Own Tempo ability to stop Double team/confuse ray Gengars. Solid AF for a mon with less than 500 total base. His speed was not a problem overall either, he could tank Shadow Balls and hit back with psychic. Plus he cleaned up Bruno as well.
My LeafGreen team was; Magmar, Lapras, Raichu, Rhydon, Pidgeot, Hitmonchan. I didn't use starter, legendary, OP Pokémon like Arcanine or Alakazam. Idk why but this team made me happy. During that time, I was so excited to play LeafGreen again because of this team. Magmar is my favorite fire type tho.
This really inspired me to create something that is the strongest team i've ever used in Leaf Green. The team however is only complete before the second time you beat the league. The team: Venusaur Marowak (with thick club) Blissey Gyarados Articuno (Sheer Cold + Mean Look) Wobbuffet God the bulk + power this team has... Marowak literally ohko's everything in game with rock ground coverage
flareon so slept on in these games, yeah fire is special which puts many people off as flareon boasts a much higher base ATK stat (130). However, a SPA base stat of 95 is not bad and flareon gets access to shadow ball, iron tail and hyper beam to utilise its huge 130 base ATK stat as all ghost moves are physical in this game. Honestly really worth a try, never seen any poketuber talking about it :)
Best team for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Blaziken - for sidney Aggron - for glacia Milotic - for steven Absol - for phoebe Salamence - for drake Plusle - for "too much water"
My all time fav team for FRLG Is by far Charizard, Nidoking, Snorlax, Starmie, Gengar, Jolteon/Magneton. Starmie is very underrated but you can fish it in Pallet right after saving Fuji and with Surf, Psychic, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Recover and other moves is an absolute menace for the whole elite four 😍
Starmie is not underrated at all, it's just version exclusive to Lead Green which is why it doesn't always get included. It's literally the best water type in the game. It was in one of MysticUmbreon's best pokémon FRLG team
Currently playing Fire Red, nearly a two year playthrough (spent a year and a half searching for Shiny Dratini at game corner) My current team is Venusaur Shiny Dragonair Arcanine Lapras Nidoking Pidgeot
Blastoise, Jolteon, Hypno, Aerodactyl, Arcanine, and Snorlax Blastoise will smoke a lot of the battles, early and late. Jolteon for Late Game. Hypno with Dream Eater, can get Drowzee early. Aerodactyl for Late Game, pretty darn powerful. Arcanine for Late Game. Snorlax for a Normal Type, It can learn mixed TM's of different types, and HP Sponge.
My first time beating the LG E4 (which was 11 years after getting the game) was Venusaur, Raichu, Pidgeot, Ninetales, Starmie, and Rhydon. Still have the Rhydon, now a Rhyperior
In my first play through I used blastoise nidoking raichu dragonite arcanine and hypno (I had nobody to trade with) An in my slightly more recent second play through I used venusaur nidoking jolteon snorlax gyrados and dragonite I plan on doing a third with charizard but haven’t gotten to it yet
My my team was Charizard, Lapras, Aerodactyl, Exxegutor, Jolteon and Hitmonchan. This team when fully kitted out was absolutely busted for me. Only elite 4 membee that gave any sort of trouble was the ghost chick
My team of choice for FireRed was this: -Venusaur -Alakazam -Machamp -Jolteon -Lapras -Aerodactyl I also considered Scyther, but it just barely missed out in favor of Aerodactyl
people that have a hard time with catching good psychic pokemons, just use gengar, fast, powrfull and can learn a very good moveset, i higly recomend this moveset psychic, thunderbolt, shadowball, giga drain, may sound thrash, but will destroy every trainer and a lot of elite fours
So my Leaf Green team ended up being: Venusaur, Lapras, Ninetales, Jolteon, Dragonite, & Kadabra (I didn’t have the ability to trade evo but still felt like using it) Fun thing about the Dragonite, I had Dratini before Erika thanks to the Game Corner
My ultimate team in FR without legendaries was always Aerodactyl, Snorlax, Scizor, Gengar, Jolteon, Charizard. Then swap Jolteon with Zapdos and Gengar with Mewtwo if legendaries were allowed.
I'm using Blastoise, Arcanine, Jolteon, Snorlax, Nidoking, and Dragonite. Most of them are near the top of the leaderboard in terms of overall stats (save for Nidoking, who is my all-rounder for type coverages).
So I actually did a team of six without a starter to make it more challenging. I have Dragonite, Moltres, Articuno, Snorlax, Magneton, and Dugtrio. Gave me a pretty well rounded team that I usually had an advantageous matchup pretty much every time somewhere in my team. Two legendary birds but many times I don’t even need to use Moltres because the other 5 shreds
you can have aerodactyl for 4 gyms, if you do this order, brock, mysty, lt. surge, koga, after that, you can go to cinnabar to get aerodactyl and use it for four gyms, including gras and fire gym
Also, if you are unable to trade, Kadabra is still a good replacement for your alakazam. It has a base sp atk of 120 and its base 105 speed means it can out speed and ohko most pokemon it battles. It also learns all the same moves as alakazam too
Starmie (Thunderbolt, Surf, Recover, Ice Beam/Psychic), Arcanine, Nidoking, Jolteon, Tauros, Venusaur. Edit: I would have said Aerodactyl. But I went with Tauros as both Aerodactyl and Tauros ate really strong in gen 1.
Of all of the teams I used in Fire red, this was my favorite team and the strongest imo: Charizard Poliwrath Exeggutor Electrode (Just trust) Snorlax Nidoking
Finally, another comment other than mine that has Mr. Mime in their team! It is always slept on because kadabra/alakazam, but it's coverage is top-notch; in-game trades get boosted experience; and best part is that it ALWAYS comes with a beneficial timid nature!
My favorite Pokemon team is usually Blastoise, Mr.Mime/Jynx, Snorlax/Tauros, Zapdos (Drill peck+thunderbolt), Sandslash/Muk. Depends on what version of pokemon, I usually play 5 pokemon because it's easier to extract and the elite 4 is basically well-chosen 4 pokemons.
Aero is so underrated. Rock with a ground immunity and grass advantage is so good in Kanto, especially against Lance's all flying team
Good candidate for EQ too.
It's on my list of Pokémon I need to finally use in a playthrough!
I did a Nuzlocke of FireRed a little while back, and after my Dodrio, Pidgeotto, and Spearow died, I no longer had a flier on my team until I remembered I had the Old Amber. Aerodactyl was an absolute beast and absolutely tore through a good chunk of the elite 4 (especially Lance)

His speed was not a problem overall either, he could tank Shadow Balls and hit back with psychic. Plus he cleaned up Bruno as well.
FireRed: my ace team was always Blastoise, Nidoking, Jynx, Arcanine, Raichu, and Dragonite
My Team is:
Pikachu Or Venasaur
Primeape
Gengar
Snorlax
Aerodactyl
Dragonite
My team:
Charizard
Raichu
Gengar
Golem
Lapras
Exxegutor
Charizard, Raichu, Mr.Mime, Rydon, Articuno, Snorlax
My current fire red team is pretty neat IMO,
Blastoise, Arcanine, Beedrill, Jynx, Pikachu, and Dragonite
This really inspired me to create something that is the strongest team i've ever used in Leaf Green. The team however is only complete before the second time you beat the league.
The team:
Venusaur
Marowak (with thick club)
Blissey
Gyarados
Articuno (Sheer Cold + Mean Look)
Wobbuffet
God the bulk + power this team has... Marowak literally ohko's everything in game with rock ground coverage
Can you provide moveset as well
Scyther is extremely underrated. Used him in my FR team with Blastoise, Zapdos, Nidoking, Magmar & Alakazam and e held his own during the elite 4
Wdym by fr team
@@Helli-kidsfire red
My current Fire Red/Leaf Green Team is Electabuzz, Flareon, Lapras, Dragonite, Nidoking, and Tauros
Venosaur -> Nidoking -> Gyarados -> Dragonite -> Dodrio -> Alakazam/Hitmonlee, all can be aquired around Erika - Gym 4
flareon so slept on in these games, yeah fire is special which puts many people off as flareon boasts a much higher base ATK stat (130). However, a SPA base stat of 95 is not bad and flareon gets access to shadow ball, iron tail and hyper beam to utilise its huge 130 base ATK stat as all ghost moves are physical in this game. Honestly really worth a try, never seen any poketuber talking about it :)
My favorite Kanto team for FR/LG would be:
- Charizard
- Gengar
- Dragonite
- Electabuzz
- Rhydon
- Gyarados
Team I’ve used in Firered many times:
Charizard, Poliwrath, Nidoking, Electabuzz, Aerodactyl, and Kangaskhan
Blastoise, Arcanine, Alakazam, Raichu, Pigeot, Machamp,
Nidoking, Gyarados, Rhydon, Golum, Dodrio, Charizard,
Tauros, Venasaur, Jolteon, Cloyster, Dragonite, Mr. Mime.
i would love to use aerodactyl in a playthrough, bummer it’s so late game
My playthrough
Charizard (Fire/Flying)
Aerodactyl (Rock/Flying)
Jolteon(Electric)
Nidoking (Ground/ Poison)
Starmie(Water/Psychic)
Gengar(Ghost)
Best team for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
Blaziken - for sidney
Aggron - for glacia
Milotic - for steven
Absol - for phoebe
Salamence - for drake
Plusle - for "too much water"
Where dragonite?
Dragonair takes too long to evolve and you could only use Dragonite in the postgame
Sucking
@@joaquinfernandezaracil1703seriously I just got to the elite 4 and still 3 levels to evolve into dragonite.
@@LJProductions247no you can use dragons before the league he’s just saying it’s really hard to level up
Weak
My all time fav team for FRLG Is by far Charizard, Nidoking, Snorlax, Starmie, Gengar, Jolteon/Magneton. Starmie is very underrated but you can fish it in Pallet right after saving Fuji and with Surf, Psychic, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Recover and other moves is an absolute menace for the whole elite four 😍
gengar gen 3 Sucks , but nice team
Starmie is not underrated at all, it's just version exclusive to Lead Green which is why it doesn't always get included. It's literally the best water type in the game. It was in one of MysticUmbreon's best pokémon FRLG team
Starmie isn't underrated.. ppl all say it's 1 of the best pokemon in that gen
Currently playing Fire Red, nearly a two year playthrough (spent a year and a half searching for Shiny Dratini at game corner)
My current team is
Venusaur
Shiny Dragonair
Arcanine
Lapras
Nidoking
Pidgeot
Blastoise, Jolteon, Hypno, Aerodactyl, Arcanine, and Snorlax
Blastoise will smoke a lot of the battles, early and late.
Venusaur, seadra, Scyther, magneton, rhydon, and Arcanine are my primary pokemon I use in most games
Jynx with Lovely Kiss and Dream eater was my go to Psychic type
My first time beating the LG E4 (which was 11 years after getting the game) was Venusaur, Raichu, Pidgeot, Ninetales, Starmie, and Rhydon. Still have the Rhydon, now a Rhyperior
In my first play through I used blastoise nidoking raichu dragonite arcanine and hypno (I had nobody to trade with)
An in my slightly more recent second play through I used venusaur nidoking jolteon snorlax gyrados and dragonite
I plan on doing a third with charizard but haven’t gotten to it yet
My team was 1.venasaur
2.nidoking
3.parasect
4.hitmonlee
5.golem
6.gengar
My team in fire red:
Venusaur. Arcanine. Nidoking. Gyarados. Alakazam & Dragonite.
Ngl this is a good team but if I were to battle you I would use
Charizard
Blastoise
Gyrados
Electrobuzz
Gengar
Lapras
Jynx is an absolute beast. It is so overpowered in fr or lg.
My best team in pokemon fr was blastoise, exeguttor, machamp, aerodactyl, electabuzz, arcanine
My my team was Charizard, Lapras, Aerodactyl, Exxegutor, Jolteon and Hitmonchan. This team when fully kitted out was absolutely busted for me. Only elite 4 membee that gave any sort of trouble was the ghost chick
My team of choice for FireRed was this:
-Venusaur
-Alakazam
-Machamp
-Jolteon
-Lapras
-Aerodactyl
I also considered Scyther, but it just barely missed out in favor of Aerodactyl
Woah very similar except for aero, I used arcanine instead
people that have a hard time with catching good psychic pokemons, just use gengar, fast, powrfull and can learn a very good moveset, i higly recomend this moveset
psychic, thunderbolt, shadowball, giga drain, may sound thrash, but will destroy every trainer and a lot of elite fours
Man I would have you with my Hypno. I'd tank your shadowball and give you one good twistedspoon boosted psychic 😂
I can counter that w Charizard .
So my Leaf Green team ended up being:
Venusaur, Lapras, Ninetales, Jolteon, Dragonite, & Kadabra (I didn’t have the ability to trade evo but still felt like using it)
Fun thing about the Dragonite, I had Dratini before Erika thanks to the Game Corner
Whenever i hear garados i wonder when we will get a regional variant of it.
Got venosaur, nidoking, dodrio, starmie, ninetales and dragonite. Loved It 🙊
Charizard
Alakazam
Nidoking
Starmie
Jolteon
Snorlax
This is the big 6 I've been using since forever
My team for my every playthrough for FireRed is:
Charizard
Nidoking
Alakazam
Machamp
Lapras
Dragonite
I use this team: Blastoise, Nidoqueen, Jolteon, Aerodactyl, Gengar, Hitmonlee
My ultimate team in FR without legendaries was always Aerodactyl, Snorlax, Scizor, Gengar, Jolteon, Charizard.
Then swap Jolteon with Zapdos and Gengar with Mewtwo if legendaries were allowed.
Magneton is infinitely better than jolteon lmfao
For FR I used Charizard, Raichu, Primeape, Vaporeon, Kadabra/Alakazam w/Shadow ball, and Snorlax worked out for me.
I'm using Blastoise, Arcanine, Jolteon, Snorlax, Nidoking, and Dragonite. Most of them are near the top of the leaderboard in terms of overall stats (save for Nidoking, who is my all-rounder for type coverages).
I have the exact same team as you my man
Cheers!
Well my team for blastoise is:
Blastoise
Dodrio
Gengar
Persian
Hitmonchan or Hitmonlee
Dragonite
FFS i just started playing it with your old team jajajaj, great video anyways, will use it for the next time i play it!
you can have aerodactyl for 4 gyms, if you do this order, brock, mysty, lt. surge, koga, after that, you can go to cinnabar to get aerodactyl and use it for four gyms, including gras and fire gym
It's not good enough to put that much effort into it
Also, if you are unable to trade, Kadabra is still a good replacement for your alakazam.
My fire red team consisted of Venusaur,Fearow,Nidoqueen,Mr Mime (the in game trade),Lapras,And Raichu
With held items consisting of charcoal sharp beak silver powder mystic water amulet coin and magnet
My current team in my LG play through is Venusaur, Alakazam, Poliwrath, Jinx, Pidgeot, and Rhydon. Killer team so far
Charizard-Nidoking-Lapras-Snorlax-Rhydon-Hitmonlee
Of all of the teams I used in Fire red, this was my favorite team and the strongest imo:
Charizard
Poliwrath
Exeggutor
Electrode (Just trust)
Snorlax
Nidoking
For a starterless team run, I'd suggest Lapras, Aerodactyl, Nidoqueen, Hitmonlee, Snorlax and Mr. Mime.
Yea niceeeee
