  • It’s a little bit of insight on the APR stage 2 with single pulley ! I do have a transmission tune as well that is custom so I will not be able to give insight on the tune with the pulley alone. I was told without the transmission tune you won’t be able to get the full advantages of APR stage two. I don’t know if that’s true but I knew I was going to the race track so I went ahead and got my transmission suited to me.
    If you have any questions or comments or concerns leave them in the comments section and I’ll get to as soon as possible, I hope this gives you a bit of insight. I’ve recently done an oil change, new spark plugs, ignition coil ‘s, I do have some additives in my coolant as well as my oil. I did this video on a day I was running errands and I realized I really need to do this because it’s been a year and I’ve had the tune for about six months already. My car is kind of hot but I and my updated video I’m going to go out when it’s a little cooler and see if I can break that 12.5s 1/4 without the octane booster.

    615 miles to the gallon huh, LOL may want to adjust that one because you don't get that. I have a 2013 A6 3.0T and I get around mid to low 20's in town to 30mpg on the highway with just the injen intake and no tunes. I plan on doing the APR Stage 2 kit soon but it has plenty of power for me right now. : )

      I meant I have an estimated range of 615 miles when I have a full tank of gas. I would definitely recommend jumping to the stage two with a single pulley and skip stage one for the best bang for buck. The inner cooler though is hands-down a must, where I live the summers are always in the triple digits so as much wear something on my car it was a no-brainer for me.

    To be clear, Stage 1 and Stage 2 SP pull hard in the top end like a turbo. Stage 2 DP comes on sooner and provides that big block torque, slam you into the seat feeling while blipping the throttle at low RPM.
    A 2016-2018 A6 3.0T has an added clutch to turn the charger off (mostly) below a certain RPM. A 2016 -2018 A6 3.0T has 30% larger heat exchangers in the supercharger. A 2016-2018 A6 3.0T has 12 fuel injectors instead of only 6 injectors on older cars.
    The ZF8 can be launched like a 7 spd DSG. It might not be able to shift as fast, but look at how the larger ZF8 shifts in the RS7. There are many custom tuners out there who can set the launch RPM to whatever you like. Pretty much disable the AMAX counter. Set the aggressiveness of the shifts and the shift RPM base on throttle inputs.
    This car accelerates hard in first and second, but not so much in third. So if you want a good 0-60, you need to launch it and have the transmission reprogrammed to go past 6250.
    A good 0-60 will mean a better quarter mile.
    Reprogramming the engine makes the RPM limit higher, but the transmission needs to be reprogrammed as well.
    This is with ANY tune as they all add power in the top of the RPM range.

      A turbo is mostly low end torque which is why a supercharged has an advantage over a Single turbo. The linear torque is unreal though, on track you’ll feel like your in a Porsche that weighs a boat haha! But I must say I have solid 3rg gear torque when Im rolling. My set up isn’t for Quarter mile but I have seen a couple tuned A6s that can run in the 10s. I’m not too sure I want to do the mods that would take away from my current theory. I 100% need to find a custom tuner to match my driving for sure though! It’s

      I can’t say have a lot of experience with BMW but definitely drive both cars are thinking about! I know I have an Audi but I’ve driven just about every car out there and it definitely takes being behind the wheel to feel something that’s a custom to the way you drive! Your car can be the fastest out there but if you’re not enjoying it then it’s not really worth it in my personal opinion of course! I’m a mechanic and I literally gain drop a transmission and keep everything in my car in a parking lot but I can also smoke a hellcat if need be so I absolutely love the practicality for my uses that my Audi has now!

    Awesome video bro! I’ve had my 2017 3.0 A6 for about 4 months with a stage 1 tune and I thought I was doing something haha but I can onlyyyy imagine what this stage 2 tune will feel like in a few months! On another note, I’ve read that doing a stage 2 tune will put more strain on the engine and shorten the life of the car. Is this true? I have 60k miles on my Audi and I need her to run strong for at least another 60k -70k .

      I’m sorry man! But I would look around your area on APRs website to see your closest dealer then go there and see if they know anyone in your area 👍. I drove 6 and a half hours to get the ECU tune and by chance I ran into an individual who was in the shop I was in that had a C7.5/c7 A6 too and after talking for a bit they admitted who they were and offered the tune. I’ve read different things on forums but the opinions are so diverse I can’t comfortably tell you I recommend any of them ha😂.
      I’m sorry I couldn’t be of more help, but I do hope you find one and when you do I hope they let you share it. I have questions about mine but my guy is crazy busy so I only get to talk to him if I go in and that’s still a 6+ drive to get there ha. On some days off though I’ll go and ask again about being able to disclose. But there’s a high chance it’s still a no.

    Huh?? Why would a company that does tranny tunes not want you to mention them??? Also, why would you not do dual pulley? Seems suspect

    • @NinjaSniper7
      @NinjaSniper7  3 года назад

      It’s not a company, it’s a private tuner. But to answer the question in a professional format if somebody is offering a limited product to certain circles, if my tuner is only tuning race cars, then they wouldn’t advertise. I’m not saying that’s the situation but that is just an example and I’m sure you can understand how there are multiple more examples that would explain that. Also the door poorly at decent amount of RPMs in the mid range but with my transmission tune I don’t need the second pulley just yet because I’m already getting there. If I get the second pulley right now it’s going to add just as much power and torque a drop in air filter. I only recommend doing the door Pauline if you’re going to go ahead and get the transmission tune with it, inner cooler at the same time, and possibly even an upgraded throttlebody. But if you only get the door poorly with a tune with that and then you’re not gonna say anything at all.

      @@NinjaSniper7 problem with that is liability. Your talking about at least 5k to replace your tranny and 10+ on the engine. I wouldn’t touch anything that isn’t proven reliable, no sir.

      @@TheWarawaj Just upgrading to an Audi SQ5 tune with a higher RPM launch makes a lot of difference. There are many people who use individuals based on proven recommendations. No major brand tuner is going to guarantee your used, out of warranty, transmission. Canned tunes are not adjusted to your driving style and may have lower launch RPM and lower rev limiters and softer shifting.
      The A6 transmission is rather clueless in stock form and when you add 30 to 40 percent more horsepower it just gets worse.
      Any tuning or modifying your vehicle properly or improperly can see damaged parts as well as stock. You drive a complex car, expect higher repair bills. You can also get warranty from companies that don't care if you are tuned or not.

    • @NinjaSniper7
      @NinjaSniper7  2 года назад

      @@Todd.T I actually disagree. I had a much higher launch RPM and my red line was higher after the tune also. Depending on the brand of tune and if the shop doing the work is authorized by that brand then some tunes actually do come with some type of warranty.
      As far as “expect a higher repair bill” for a modded car I can say that also is not entirely true. There are some modds you can do to extend the health of your vehicle and many are easier to maintenance. A bigger inner cooler, oil catch can, magnetic oil drain plug, upgraded throttle body, engine mounts, and much more. Just depends on what drive you’re personally looking for. If you’re getting nothing but problems or concerns with your modds I’d check with your shop’s work or the part quality.
