I started one piece because of you talking about it on twitter. Best decision I ever made
I started One Piece back in 2005 with the 4 kids dub. Didn't like it but finally found the world of Japanese subs about 2 years later, which was way further and better voices. Loved it ever since.
Yeah, 4Kids dub did irreparable damage to One Piece’s reputation. It gave everyone the impression that it’s a kid show with nothing else going on. Glad you made the right choice.

Me and my roommates threw a Halloween party last year and I vividly remember screaming “MONKEY D LUFFY MONKEY D LUFFY” and pointing at a dude who came as Luffy despite being blackout drunk. I don’t even watch one piece, the only reason I know anything about it is alpharad plus/deluxe/gold

wow. back when i was reading it i think i averaged a bit under 100 chapters a week, with my max in one day being like 20-30 chapters
in anticipation of the 1000th chapter less than a week later i binged 500+ chapters in 5 days

I hope you guys eventually play One Piece Grand Adventure, it's a Power Stone fighter on the GameCube/PS2, dubbed by 4Kids with multiple story modes, including one where you play as Usopp and bullshit your way to recruiting every strong pirate to your crew.
i've been up to date to one piece for years and it has been so funny seeing alpha evolve to my point where every theory is "yeah, maybe. fuck if i know. let oda cook frfr" even after 1k+ chapters of lore and excruciating detail
I like that they pointed out that this game starts in the middle of wano and came out before luffy and kidd had even escaped prison. Imagine how hellish the development cycle would have been to start and finish production in that span of time
Them making wano before they broke out of Udon prison was a huge mistake because PW4’s version of Wano blows chunks.
@@phillemon7664 I love how pretentious they were trying to get though, like the way they start at the end and then flash all the way back to chapter 1. They really thought they were about to one-up Oda with their Wano fan-fiction
Playing the Pirate Warriors games in reverse order would be pretty epic
As someone who was never seen one piece this episode is very entertaining
Try it out, read it for the quicker experience but for more emotional wait you should watch it.

From what I've heard about Oda killing characters, he doesn't do it because he feels it would "ruin the victory parties" the characters have afterwards. Which is fair, One Piece victory parties are peak fiction

19:14 i agreee one piece made me cry so much before time skip and still does but like Ussop became one of my favorites and i think his fight goes so hard with luffy, and like impel down was so fire seeing buggy so fucking funny it was fire. I miss alot of things but i think the tone change was needed for the type of things the show set up even though i prefer how the crew was before it kinda sucks but its still fire like it feels like a needed change and it still remains a little but its yea my fav moments will always be prior to time skip. 25:11 my friend told me what you think about the new straw hat nico when i got there and i thought she was a temporary character from the get that i didnt even consider her to be one but like yea i ate the words or whatever lol

I loved this game but it did have plenty of odd exclusions like only 4 of the 9 pre time skip versions of strawhats being playable, only one blink and you miss it season of dlc, the removal of all alternate costumes that they added all the way through the previous 3 Pirate Warriors games and not just skipping entire arcs but also leaving the arcs they did include pretty bare bones. Still I can't imagine they'll make another Pirate Warriors game before the manga wraps up or something, weird thing to say I know but that's how I feel about the series.
Unironically I just started the Wano Saga in the manga and will say that Whole Cake Island is my third favorite arc only being outdone by Impel Down / Marinford
