Some of them. Bust most of us are either a.) ex/current military who are well trained and understand the need for such firearms b.) Well trained civilian or law enforcement who want to protect their families or be prepared for the worst. or c.) People who enjoy tactical shooting as a hobby. Luckily, we live in a country where our hobbies and belongings are not dictated to us by those who feel they are superior. (not yet atleast).
First thing out the BCM Rep's mouth was our objective is to build it correct . Then flashes to barrel nut being torqued with the tool fixed parallel to the torque wrench (which acts as a multiplier ) rather than at 90 degrees. Perdy gun though!
No problem :) oh and believe it or not play between the upper and lower doesn't affect accuracy because all the stuff that is important to accuracy is in the upper. but it is a bonus when the upper and lower have a tight fit. and also those companies i mentioned will have nice fitting.
I tell people that don't know much about mil-spec like this...... now there's mil-spec dimensions without the testing and then there's mil-spec materials and dimensions but with a non mil-spec coating and or testing procedures..... 100% mil-spec like bcm or DD is mil-spec materials, dimensions, and testing procedures / quality control like a military m4..... it's the standard for a reason. And most Special Forces around the world use the M4
The BCM company has become one of the finest Combat/ manufacturer in the UNITED STATES and for that matter one of the best /weapons manufacturer's in the world. It comes out of the box re
Scott Aten That is not true either, the reason for our own military and civilian entities using HK is because they just simply work. I was issued an m16a2 when I was in the military. Colt is a great company, always has been, and always will hold a special place for me because of that. The fact of the matter is HK and for the most part many european designed firearms are far better engineered in the broad spectrum of things. However no one calls into question the integrity of the folks at BCM, or Haley Strategic. Most DSS, DOD, DHS, SOG, and DOJ counterparts use mostly foreign manufactured firearms. Not because they look cool, but because they simply work. For example I would rather carry a HK416 than an M4 or M16 that was manufactured by Colt. Or even a HK G36C-K 55.6 even though at distance damage received is diminished. However when you consider the Scar H, made by FN, there is no comparison. Our military needs to realize that if we are going to keep sending our men and women into harms way, then they must be equipped better, and not just for SOF or JSOC components. Everyone.
I am a veteran as well (Infantry) Colt makes a great M-4, I should have said that I have found the BCM AR-15 to be very well put together. Yes there are many AR style manufacturers used by various companies so I see where your concerned about their integrity comes into play. I love my SIG SAUER M-400 (5.56mm). I apologize like you I'm big on details and I left them out. I will say this my M-4 saved my ass more than a few times. Y'all have a good one God Bless America.
+Brian Moffitt First, thanks for your service. Secondly, gun is being sold for $2200 on BCM's website. This is a DI AR15, LOL. My Sig Sauer .308 716 which can shoot .5 MOA with match ammo on cost me $1,800. I put a Gesielle SSA-E trigger so that bumps it up to $2,020 and it's still cheaper than the Jack. No doubt the Jack is well-made but that thing is WAAAAAAY over-priced.
Hell yes! Used to use those all the time. They scared us into thinking that the rounds would get stuck in the barrel and make it blow up in our faces later with live ammo.
I have an AEG, and I have owned Gas Blowback Airsoft Rifles...I have also used simunitions in military training. They are using simunitions, not an AEG. The rifles are ejecting simunitions shells, and the magazines are marked blue for training rounds. Simunitions are training rounds that can be fired out of real firearms (with some adaptions) for extremely realistic training. They also hurt like a bastard!
Bcm builds excellent products. Travis Hailey is a responsible patriot who is a fast dying breed in our community. I pray the tyrannical Liberalism in Washington does not try kill our most sacred of freedoms.
Honestly, the last thing we need is another AR 15. The muzzle device looks like it could be good, but there are so many other AR 15s that could probably do everything this rifle can. Also, what training ammo where you using?
Is the milspec tactical weapon system specced out to milspec? What advantages are there in having each milspec system component more milspec than similar milspec components?
Most of magpul's stuff are mid-grade gear. This rifle has some pretty high end components. It's no competition rifle, but sure looks like a reliable durable fine piece of machinery. I've never operated it myself, but from what I can tell, niiiice.
I will forever be mesmerized by the ability of slick marketing to convince someone that a $2500 AR will outshoot there $600 AR because of a name stamped on it. It isnt the weapon, it is the finger that works it.
It is heavy, but it balances pretty well so it isn't a big deal. Regardless, the advantages of a smaller, lighter rifle are so obvious that they shouldn't need mentioning.
I'm sure your S&W also came with the Geissele SMR Mk1 Free Float Handguards, BCMGUNFIGHTER Charging Handle, B5 Systems SOPMOD Bravo Stock, End Plate with QD Swivel Attachment, ALG Defense ACT Trigger, Impact Weapon Componants Thorntail Mount, Inforce WML-HSP, and a$200 Certificate toward training with Hailey Strategic Partners.
in terms of BCM's accessories i can tell you lot of soliders are using their products. of course they are not using their AR's directly because they have standard issue colts. i was in the airborne infantry(just go out in march) and i have an BCM reece 14 now and its superior to the colt m4 i carried in the army in every way in my opinion.
The only thing I don't like is the low profile gas block uses set screws and is not pinned in like a standard A2 front sight/gas block. If they would change that I would give it a harder look. Otherwise this is a really cool rifle that gives a lot without adding a lot of little things to drive up the price more.
I just built a clone essentially. Geiselle mk14 SMR 13” - 191.00 vet day sale BCM BFH 16” mid length - 269.00 Halloween BCM BLEM UPPER - 50.00 on BCM site $500 I through an Anderson lower($40.00) (I’m from northern Kentucky, so I’m partial) ALG trigger, BCM Hhandle and stock and an eotech 512 ($379 at PX)with Magpul pro BUIS I’m looking to buy a new BCG and charging handle to match the quality of the upper but all in all it’s well under $1000.00 and has been great. Sales and patience is truly the key to an outstanding rifle without spending the incredible prices some people are asking
LtThompsonCS well to be honest I did not say I built a 1:1 replica. I built essentially a clone meaning some things are different however the overall concept and parts are very similar. I cut corners with the lower and I don’t have the same rail. I recently through a geissele super charging handle on it and the super braided 42 buffer. My comment wasn’t meant offend a “purist” or start an argument 5 months after the original comment. It was meant to shed light on my own project and give prices for someone who may want to build a good weapons that is very similar to the one in the above video.
I am a fan of the piston however, if you're trying to save weight go for the DI, I however wouldn't trade those couple of ounces for the extra reliability of the Piston system.
Looks like an Airframe helmet with a Surefire helmet light and Smith Boogie Regulator goggles. Also some sort of IR strobe on top of one and a battery pack on back is my guess. Have not had ton of luck with any googles in high stress situations, looking into some thing like a Cyclone Mike right now to solve fogging.
We had one at the shop I worked at. I was not that impressed.. it sat on the shelf until I left there. It’s a well built rifle, don’t get me wrong.. but it’s wayyy overpriced for what it is. There are much better builds you could put together for half the money these days. Your truly paying for his name on there in my opinion..
What kind of rounds were they using? Some type of practise rounds that will cycle the ar platform properly? I would be VERY interested in getting my hands on something like this.
I think it's a paintball marker-I forget the brand/model but I've seen them before, one of which is the S-Thunder, though there are airsoft models (Systema) that eject casings.
Come on gents. We all know MIL-SPEC means "bare minimum without breaking". I'm sick of that shitty selling point. You won't impress any real infantryman with "it's milspec how cool is that" Capable, but at the cheapest possible price. The Jack carries a premium price tag. I demand more.
+TheActiveAssault No it really doesn't, you think stealth bomber which are obviously "mil spec" are made just good enough? The AR-15 when first made over 60 years ago was made of the lightest and most advanced materials of its day. Stoner made the highest quality weapon he could, mil spec is just that. the specs that the military demands of a product it uses to ensure quality. no need to be cynical bro
+Jimmy Wiley wait, you know your argument didn't make sense right? Like my issued boots are to the same spec as a B2 bomber? Anything aircraft is off the table because that will always carry a premium price point. Any Marine will tell you that his gear is crap and "Mil-Spec" is honestly a selling point. Manufacturers that do well in the AR market go wayyyyy beyond mil spec minimums.
mil-spec means a lot more than that. take a colt m-4 completely milspec and a damn good rifle for under a 1000, there are better rifles but just knowing colt took the time to individualy inspect each part means a lot. to me atleast
+TheActiveAssault The problem with issued weapons is they're often old, abused, and worn-out. Clothing items such as boots are not equal to rifles. I don't think anyone would question that the RCO's (Trijicon ACOG) are a damn good optic and those are "mil spec", same with Aimpoints. Also along the lines of the cheap boots thing, of course issued uniform gear is going to suck, what are they usually Bates or some shit? Pick up some other approved boots like Danners, still "mil spec" but much higher quality.
once you start letting little things go, you never get them back, and once they know they can do it a little at a time, they will .. over and over again, until there is nothing
Well, you're wrong on that note. On the right side of "The Jack Carbine" there is the Haley Strategic Partner logo. So, they both have their personal company's logo on them.
Close but not quite it really shows on the blue bolt and mag that it is sims rounds. Work the same way though. We had the same things for the sheriffs office.
The difference being the FAL was obsolete before it was introduced, in no small part because of the US insisting on 7.62x51 instead of the .270/.280 British cartridges. None the less, it was obsolete from day one. The M16 and its family of weapons, both by design and pure luck, were decades ahead of their time. That should be beyond dispute at this point
Zach Conant no one's hating bcm as a company just the Jack Carbine. The Jack is just a little overpriced considering $1,600 can get you a brand new recce
intro price of $1995 which is sold out of course. i love Bcm and have a reece 14 but they are not good at keeping there stuff in stock like for example LWRC. i doubt most of us will ever see this rifle unless its heavily price gouged. BCM had an order form up which u had to mail in, for about 5 days before they said its sold out.
Credit where it is due Mr. Haley for not putting your damn name on the side of your rifle (Costa & Vickers) and for making a weapon Ad without using the words "revolutionize" or "game changer." Just building a damn good carbine and letting it be.
The FAL is an order of magnitude more dust sensitive than an AR. It is probably more lube sensitive. I've seen foreign debris tests on M4s, I've seen them on FALs. There is no comparison. The M4 is about as combat proven as it gets.
Are you sure ? I was thinkinh about force on force marker rounds which are a little different from simmunition ... I might be mistaking though. Thanks for the intel ;-)
If you run the parts list and add up the prices on all the parts it adds up to the same price as the MSRP. You're getting all the costs with nearly no labor costs. What "trick" are you referring to?
at 8:25 he totally turned his back on the enemy and got in his battle buddy's lane of fire at the same time. If the enemy turned the corner at that same time they would have all been dead. BCM is good to go though. Great stuff...
NICE. BUT FOR THE PRICE. WHAT ARE YOU GETTING.. I'M NOT KNOCKING BCM. MUCH RESPECT. BUT WOULD LIKE TO SEE BRAKE DOWN.. AND HOW OPERATORS FEEL ABOUT IT... BUT VERY NICE THUMBS UP.
does anyone know when this item will ever be back in stock? or when i could expect it to be available for purchase this year seeing they produce a line of jack carbines once a year.
Could someone please explain to me what happens at 7:52 ? Is the operator assumed to have knifed the target in the throat ("notionally dead"). Sorry but I'm just confused.
Actually, the majority of people who swapped out their traditional system for the piston system, have switched back after running less than 6 months with the piston. I'm not sure why, but generally the consensus is that it actually doesn't hold up as well as the tube.
@Johnny Del- you didnt lose anything. This commercial is to wow possible sales, contractors and mall ninjas! BCM is qualitty no doubt, but I only see LE agencies running Colt, Rock River and Bush masters. I have two BCM lowers, one mated to LMT lower and the other to a Stag lower. They are up there with Colt,FN,LMT, but they do not have military or priv. Contractor sales that I know of.....
***** - wouldn't argue with you on that, Sir! FWIW, I think Colt gouges the shit out of the Civilian and LE market, as they still sell to my former agency and to other local agencies the 6920/40 for about $1,000 a piece but sell the M$ to the U.S. gov't for about $600.00 a piece. I know LAPD allows officers "qualified" to by Bushmaster rifles- guess they want them for that one to two pin point shots rather than expect a full on gun fight with them( Thats what METRO and SWAT are for!)
they keep saying "milspec" but what milspec actually means is that it may not necessarily be really good quality but that it is the most cost effective for the military to implement on a large scale. Milspec = decent quality at best in most cases, not all but most
BCM makes some great stuff. I definitely have some of their parts on my rifle. However, when they started talking about their muzzle device and the guy at 2:40 said theirs was the first to cross between flash reduction, ground signature, and compensation properties, I laughed. Though the standard A2 flash hider is primarily a flash hider, it was designed to be solid on the bottom to not only reduce dust pick up, but to also reduce muzzle rise by venting gass upwards. Pushing the barrel down. If I were to be totally honest, you don't really need anything besides the original A2 flash hider. Not saying the their muzzle device isn't better, but definitely not the first device to address said issues. Even then, it isn't that much better than a stock flash hider. There is also a flash comp for 26 bucks that is slightly longer than the A2 and shaped slightly differently which also slightly inproves both flash reduction and muzzle rise. Again, not saying the BCM flash comp isn't good. But they do overhype it a little. Unless you go for a muzzle brake, most flash comps are not very different from each other.

Damn, dude's running an LPVO and a canted T1 on a Jack back in 2012. Def ahead of the curve lol
It’s a 2.5-10x24 actually. MPVO for the win

For a gun that is, literally, ready to fight out of the box....this is a solid deal.

That was a superior video, especially for this market. Well done! Thank you!
man i want, and today is my 30th bday haha i think im getting this as a present to me! great product bcm
Did you ever get it? Also, your 38 now 😳
First thing out the BCM Rep's mouth was our objective is to build it correct . Then flashes to barrel nut being torqued with the tool fixed parallel to the torque wrench (which acts as a multiplier ) rather than at 90 degrees. Perdy gun though!
You’re a BFM to have a rifle named after you! Much respect
No problem :) oh and believe it or not play between the upper and lower doesn't affect accuracy because all the stuff that is important to accuracy is in the upper. but it is a bonus when the upper and lower have a tight fit. and also those companies i mentioned will have nice fitting.

“Bee Keeper” is an interesting name to choose since BCM has ties to Cold Harbor Special Projects
great vid, rifle sounds amazing. i have a bcm reece 14 that i decked out and i feel so lucky to have it. just an awesome ar

During the 22422 drill, I think he only shot 3 rounds for the 3rd set.
Who gives a shit
Make more with full rail for the love of all the Gun saints. St.Haley St.Costa St.Vickers St.Lamb etc!!!
the offset red dot is a Aimpoint T1. The other scope looks to be either a Schmidt and Bender short dot or a Nightforce.
Okay

Awesome video, and all the companies mentioned are great if not amazing people.
Good call.. yeah I see it now, in other scenes as well. Plus the distinctive blue bolt of Simunition.
Haha. considering regular AR15's go for about $3000 now, $2500 doesnt sound too bad. $1000 for 1000 rnds and a $100 30rnd mag
It is heavy, but it balances pretty well so it isn't a big deal. Regardless, the advantages of a smaller, lighter rifle are so obvious that they shouldn't need mentioning.

Build same rifle for half price.
yep
I just built a clone essentially.

2002

what type of projectiles are they shooting in the force on force weapons

Wow. Never thought I’d see a magnified optic w/offset mrds from 2013 Video.
I would literally give my left nut for this rifle. Ended up just buying a BCM upper instead.

I'd give a third of a prostate for this rifle
I just bought it, no regrets.
Earl at Impact Weapons Components is a great guy to deal with. They make awesome stuff over there.
you'll be lucky to get a t-shirt with a picture of that gun on it for the next year or so, but must agree...looks good
What kind of rounds were they using? Some type of practise rounds that will cycle the ar platform properly? I would be VERY interested in getting my hands on something like this.
It's called Simunition. You swap out the bolt carrier and you use paint-tipped rounds. Hurts worse than paintballs when you get hit with them.
I think it's a paintball marker-I forget the brand/model but I've seen them before, one of which is the S-Thunder, though there are airsoft models (Systema) that eject casings.

what are they using during the simulation at the end? Simunition? Blanks?
Why so much hate for BCM?
Isn't that what every big gun company does? Daniel defense. Hk. Lwrc. Noveske. And bcm is good price compared to the latter few
Zach Conant no one's hating bcm as a company just the Jack Carbine. The Jack is just a little overpriced considering $1,600 can get you a brand new recce
What is the system used for force and force ? Did not seem like simunition. Thanks a lot.
On the mayflower apc (dude with mich 2000 helmet plate carrier) what is that antenna looking thing on the back?
Awesome what are the carriers the guys are carrying are thsoe mayflower assault armor carriers ?
intro price of $1995 which is sold out of course. i love Bcm and have a reece 14 but they are not good at keeping there stuff in stock like for example LWRC. i doubt most of us will ever see this rifle unless its heavily price gouged. BCM had an order form up which u had to mail in, for about 5 days before they said its sold out.
Those are some nice and thin plate carriers.
Running the D3 rigs.
I dont know why but I died laughing when the guy came out saying "dad are you okay" and got pushed to the ground
What's the PC (Plate Carriers) the students and Haley are running in the beginning?
WHAT ARE YOU YELLING ABOUT
Actually there is a Magpul product on this gun. Can you guess which one?
The MSRP is around $2,000.
I agree. 13.5 would be best. A special 10" size actually makes it less desirable.
what eye were are they using in the final scenario?
does anyone know when this item will ever be back in stock? or when i could expect it to be available for purchase this year seeing they produce a line of jack carbines once a year.
Could someone please explain to me what happens at 7:52 ?
Is the operator assumed to have knifed the target in the throat ("notionally dead"). Sorry but I'm just confused.
BCM is one of the best on the market. Right there with colt, and daniel defense.
I love how intense the training is. Nice I would love to learn to do this kind of training ;).
easy play airsoft. find a Milsim Team and your all set if they pick you
Actually, the majority of people who swapped out their traditional system for the piston system, have switched back after running less than 6 months with the piston. I'm not sure why, but generally the consensus is that it actually doesn't hold up as well as the tube.
Thank you sir, that was very informative. And exactly the kind of answer I was looking for!
Thanks again bro.
Its great but its just a tricked out M4. I've been told its like $2k if you can get one, present issues excluded. Is that the right price?
what did he say at 4:33? "....... barrel knot"
I know LAPD allows officers "qualified" to by Bushmaster rifles- guess they want them for that one to two pin point shots rather than expect a full on gun fight with them( Thats what METRO and SWAT are for!)
whats the name of those flip up sights?
BCM BUIS made by Troy Industries
they keep saying "milspec" but what milspec actually means is that it may not necessarily be really good quality but that it is the most cost effective for the military to implement on a large scale.
Good work Travis Haley.
Does this rifle use a mid-length gas system or a carbine?
