      @@hardbody_Santiago96 there's just been a few people that were trying to point out that the guy that sells the kit that he makes says this won't work and it won't hold few other people were politely suggesting adding some extra support which is fine I'm open to suggestions however I think I have proven quite well that it holds up just fine the way it is you can text me whenever you want I'll try and help you out how I can but we did not try doing it the way you were talking about doing it so I can only really speak to how we did it as I don't want to give you any bogus or false information

    Im doing this for my 2000 Frontier. It's the same chassis as the hardbody just slight differences. I'm going to gusset my mount only because I have a 5.3 in it and I'm afraid it may snap with the extra weight.

    • @WhoopAzzRacing
      @WhoopAzzRacing  2 года назад +1

      In your instance I would agree that would be the smart move. we are running the 4 cylinder way less weight and like I said i am not against any body putting extra support i just do not think it is required UNLESS it is a situation like yours or like four wheeling set ups where wheels can come off the ground and then back down really hard. have you seen the autocross videos from inside the wheel well?

      Yes, I have looked rock solid! Run into any issues with it yet. I'm gonna work on installing mine this winter. I'm still dealing with a driveshaft angle issue. Suspension is on my list. Haha

      I thought so I mean fortunately for me I work and live here in the Hampton roads area where the world's largest navy base and one of the world's largest shipyards is located and have access to many a welder and pipefitters fabricators and every one of them that I've showed it to did not see any flaw with my setup but as I said is experimental I am not having any issues at the moment and if I ever have any in the future I will be quickly to tell everybody and as the truck gets taken apart and inspected twice a month for autocross racing before we take it to the races and then gets inspected again at the races so something rears it's ugly head we will definitely know

    I love this... What are the plans for the sway bar?

    • @WhoopAzzRacing
      @WhoopAzzRacing  2 года назад

      Trying to figure that out now need one that is a little wider had it at the autocross races today it stays much flatter in the corner with the coil over with 600 pound springs vs the torsion bar and sway bar once I figure something out I will let you know check out the autocross videos of it in action it is pretty bad ass

  • @RealityUntold
    @RealityUntold Год назад +1

    Have you looked into a 240sx sway bar? I believe some people have used it for clearance. Could you get a clip or video of the ride height?

    • @WhoopAzzRacing

      I had not looked into the 240SX sway bar yet I will do a short video next time it's up at the shop or we're at the track

  • @chrisshepherd4807
    @chrisshepherd4807 Год назад +1

    First time seeing your video.. you may have answer my question before.. but just to be clear are you running the factory torsion bars and bump stops,, with a helper spring/ coil over shock set up like you might see on a Honda car or work truck rear axle.. and the spring is there just to gain back some stiffness that was lost unwinding the torsion bars to lower the truck?? Your not relying on the shock mounts carry 100% of the truck or bump stop the front suspension right??

    • @chrisshepherd4807
      @chrisshepherd4807 Год назад +1

      How much stiffness was gained?
      What's the spring rate??
      Are the spring pockets adjustable for preload and ride height???
      What's the spring dimensions what's the height and diameter????

    • @WhoopAzzRacing
      @WhoopAzzRacing  Год назад +1

      The torsion bars are fully relaxed the springs on the coilovers are what is holding up the truck the spring rate is 600 lb the top spring perch I got off of a Honda Civic rear strut that I cut down and welded to the top perch the bottom perch is where you would adjust for ride height somebody prior to us owning the truck had removed the lower factory bump stops I installed two polyurethane bushings from my Miata kit they were for the rear differential in between the control arm and the frame so it does not fully bottom out after watching the autocross videos they never actually touch even when the truck is fully loaded in a turn as for the top mount from the factory it is 2 1/8 inch plates of steel that have been welded together and that is also where the upper control arm connects we have not been having any issues whatsoever so far

    • @WhoopAzzRacing
      @WhoopAzzRacing  Год назад +1

      I will have to pull the truck back in and take a tape measure to everything I had it all written down but I can't find a slip of paper and as far as how much stiffness was gained we are not running a front sway bar at the moment and it is 10 times better than it was with the torsion bars and the sway bar we plan on putting a sway bar back in as soon as I can figure something out

    • @WhoopAzzRacing
      @WhoopAzzRacing  Год назад +1

      I would also recommend going and checking out the videos from the autocross from where we videotaped inside of the wheel well so you can see everything articulating as we are racing the second one is much better as the first one it was actually raining that day but both are excellent views of the suspension in action

    • @chrisshepherd4807
      @chrisshepherd4807 Год назад +1

      Sorry man I didn't realize you replied till now.. thanks .. iv install a set of 550 pound springs on my truck since I seen your video now I reinforced the shock mount with some plate and box it in to make the spring perch.. my truck turbo too I drift it and do all kinds of dumb stuff and it seems to be holding up fine I'll probably pull the torsion bars.. I'm not a keyboard warrior either a lot of times I feel like people on the internet overdo shit and try to make shit seem hard
