- 'In 2023, Stay Up Forever historically reach their 30th anniversary. We want to celebrate this landmark with an exhibition in London.'During the last thirty years, a creation of music, ideas, philosophy, art, vinyl and live events have caused an eruption of subversive ideas globally. A triumph of musical substance and belief over commercialism and profit. Inspired by the raw sonic power of Roland's TB-303, this network of D.I.Y. defiance has thrived not just in London, but across the U.K. and the furthest corners of the planet.
The exhibition was hosted at FOLD by The Rebel Union run by DJ Sterling Moss with artistic director Joe Gacomet in Canning Town London and was a huge success with contributions by a large number of artists, musicians, sculptors and many others from the underground scene all of whom, in one way or another, are connected through music art and lifestyle.
With amazing historic footage, interviews, photographs and discussions, culminating in a sold out event at the club, the culture and purpose of our underground scene was laid out for everyone to interact with and enjoy.
This video by filmmaker and editor Theo Goble, features some of the Stay Up Forever artists talking about the Roland TB303 and how it influenced the sound of their productions and kick started the sound of the SUF label. It is a part of several short videos, also put together by Theo, that were playing in loops on plasma screens around the exhibition and will go on to form a part of a full length documentary which is planned for the future.

Great to see the UK's top practitioners of 303 culture given the respect that they deserve! I'm sure this will become the go-to archive film for future generations every time Acid Techno gets 'rediscovered'.
