- So I basically rewrote the whole end of this song and made it a lot sadder, you’re welcome.
Hope you enjoyed my rewrite/cover of Toxic by Britney Spears! This cover is a bit of an experiment to see if there’s a demand for covers like this, taking pop songs and making them slower and sadder and changing them up. I enjoyed making it so I hope you enjoyed listening so I can make more!

Can I just say that I love the rewrite for this version? It reflects a toxic relationship between the girl and her lover in such a sad yet beautifully sung way.
It could be a perfect song for "Poison Ivy". More than "Poison Ivy", it would be a perfect song for one of her victims.
Also because "Poison Ivy" has the ability to seduce men and women, using her pheromones.
Also, direct touch to her skin can poison a normal person if she wishes to.
She has also created several types of toxins for various purposes, including a truth serum and a love potion, often secreted from her lips and administered to victims through a kiss.
She also has the ability to manipulate people by seducing them and using her special pheromones. And she can mind control anyone who isn't immune to mind control.
So this song would be a perfect "POV Song" of the person who has been seduced by "Poison Ivy" and is slowly getting more and more intoxicated with her toxins, as if it were a drug.
Realizing too late that she has fallen into a villain's trap.
Better yet: this could be from the POV of Harley Quinn as she slowly comes to the realization of how toxic her relationship with the Joker was as she comes to the frightening discovery that she's starting to fall for Poison Ivy despite her own misgivings about love and the knowledge of how dangerous it is to be Ivy's partner.

Such a tragic feel to it. So much pain and regret expressed in such a beautifully haunting way. I can decide if the protagonist is slipping into madness after the death of her lover, the protagonist’s soul shouting from the Beyond, or the protagonist realizing her lover is going to drag her to Hell.

Definitely demanding more stuff like this!! There's a lot of pop songs that'd fit lyrically for OC playlists but they might not fit otherwise. That, and I often like having the regular version and then a sad version for the "low points" of the character's life. These kinds of covers also sound great :D

I just listened to this song and have to say this is one of the hardest things I've listened to. The somber melody mixed with the way your voice hit across it perfectly... I absolutely loved it! This inspired me so much on so many levels.
It put me into the shoes of a hero who had just had a grueling fight against the villain to save the girl... only to watch as the "damsel" turned out to be the big villain all along. Now, coming to grips with this new predicament, the hero having to fight the very person he was in love with throughout the story... the very meaning to his entire journey and his life up until that moment... that kind of heartbreak...
Covers like this is why covers matter.
