I have that exact 686+ and I can't believe how small it looks next to that X-frame, lol. The L-frame is the biggest handgun I own. I'm not a S&W collector, but this video made me want to track down a two-tone combat magnum. That thing is bad ass.
Carried the combat master piece during our time in air force security police .38 spl. A smooth shooter tack driver. Always envied the army with their 1911a1. Years later while shooting on state national guard pistol team i had enough of the 1911a1. Today really enjoy shooting revolvers especially a S&W k frame.😊 8:56
Be still my fluttering heart strings. S & W revolvers....it doesn't get any better than that. Especially older S&W revolvers. I was drooling watching this video. I've zeroed in on Smith revolvers for collecting. I originally was going to focus on K frame snubbies but they are just so hard to find in good condition and are usually priced over the top. People are really sitting on them. I do have a couple but the majority of the collection consists of J frames. Round butts, square butts, bodyguards, and centennials. All in great shape. I don't have a nickeled J frame and that's on my radar. No N frames currently but I do have an L frame in 44 Spl. It's a five shot 3 incher and sweet. Model 696 dash 1. Just about all the J and K frames in the collection are no dash except for two. That nickeled model 19 and the four inch N frame 44 Mag. were raising my blood pressure. Excellent presentation. Thank you.
Mine is a couple years old. Listen to this. The cylinder pawl on my S+W model 69 would not engage the cylinder, leaving the cylinder to freewheel around. It eventually did work again but that was all I needed to see to not trust the revolver. S+W was notified and sent me a shipping label to send it in for closer inspection. That condition could have been a catastrophic failure sever injury or death. I have owned many S+W revolvers and this was an issue I had never seen before. I have only put a couple hundred rounds through this .44 magnum, there shouldn’t be any issues. at this point. Be aware.
Nice...I was hoping that since you actually had an i frame, you would discuss and show the differences between the J frame and i frame. I know the i frame was usually a 32 caliber but it looks so similar to the j frame in this video.
I own a K frame thats a .22 6shot double action with an adjustable rear sight made in 1904 passed down through the family. This guy needs to recheck his facts.
Where are you located? I'm looking to buy my first gun. The only thing I know for sure is that it's going to be a revolver. I'm thinking that I want a .357, seven shot or more, 5-inch or longer barrel, probably L frame, preferably a darker gun so as not so easy for everyone to spot from a mile away. What choices would fit that bill? Thanks.
Good choice. Nothing wrong with aSS finish though. Blue i& black is fine ..a revolver can be every bit as good or better at every thing a auto can do. Keep an open mind. & the saying they don’t makeem like they used to is nothing but true with some of these things. New can be fine too. Stay Open minded & hold as many as you can get your hands on & find a person that actually knows what’s up. It’s most likely not going to be a person blowing his own horn. ENJOY!& if you’re wanting to carry it. Round lines Blends with with a human shape way better a lot of the time. In MY experience. Takes trial & error like everything else but get the right recipe & it’s pretty sweet all the way around.
The 45 has become stale and offers nothing unless you want very large slow bullets, nobody under 80 should consider a 1911 or that fat low pressure round.I think the 38 special is great and never gets old ,22lr is so efficient and versatile in its original form I doubt it will ever go away until metallic cases are replaced .
I love a lot of the older S&W guns, unfortunately living in Commie California I cant get a lot of them. Even though its not a deal breaker I don't like the Hillary holes, S&W should only make 1/2 the guns with it
Those guns are crap and sicken me to the core. I might need to take a j & an L frame of of you maybe an i frame. 32 is fine. Get some of that mess out of your immediate surroundings. You don’t know me but I care about all ppl. I help strangers often & am more than willing to help you.

Hey I'm interested in a model 60 38 snub nose. Would you happen to have one?
I’m trying to restore one of these, any chance anyone can help to identify the model and frame?
I like the S&W 625-3 such a beast gun oh yeah it’s a 45 caliber
Very nice indeed.

Not all S&W .32 are i frames. Later .32 where j frames and j frames are bigger.
