    Sorry guys I just noticed at 11:49 refer to a note in the chord as a 6th interval, it was actually a major third. Failed to spot my mistake in the edit. Enjoy the video.

      @@crash3711I referred to the Knight in chess because you're going down a string and up a fret. An 'L' shape of sorts but to be fair, a bishop would be more accurate. Not really sure why I didn't mention it to be honest.

    Yes Randy was good...... did he change rock/metal guitar? Not at all.... his fingering, tapping, hammer ons etc. came from studying Eddie.... Randy even said so.... Eddie was at the forefront of all that or there would never have been the Eddie we all know and love if that were NOT true.... Why they always end up in the same sentences is ridiculous to those of us that know the truths of the history... Randy, Steve Vai, George Lynch, Joe Satriani, and 50 other hot rods are all in the same paragraph following the master Eddie....

    The thing about Randy Rhoads is he knew all the chords and all the scales and phrasing and it’s amazing to just sit back and crank it up and enjoy but you make it seem so easy your understanding and skills come out in not only your playing but as the teacher

    • @kiezersosay49
      @kiezersosay49 Год назад +6

      That was one of the key differences between RR and EVHs playing imo. EVH learned sitting on the edge of his bed noodling/experimenting and doing EVERYTHING he was told not to. RR, on the other hand was classically trained for years and melded what he learned with metal. I believe RR would win a dual because he could fall back on his training. RR was probably more versatile in that sense. I've heard EVH couldn't read music, but I don't know if that's true or not.

    Randy didn’t seem very random in his playing style but very deliberate in his playing, crafting entire solos from beginning to end. A solo guitar part or melody you could hum all day long.

      yep, as opposed to all the others, who did one off, wing it solos in the recording studios every time. Bcs he knew music, and dint just learn by moving his fingers along the neck in tandem with the pick. A major reason his phrasing sounds so much - SO MUCH more musical than all the others. All the others. He's the prototype superior guitarist, in every way.@@CameronCooper
