As someone with anger problems, I'm so happy to get nuggets like this while I'm in my 20's. Saying "no" to my anger is a lot harder than it seems, but I know it isn't impossible
Agree completely to both comments. Truthfully I am happy & finally feel at ease knowing (which to me is verifying) that it is possible to do that change. Thus making me a better knowledgeable person. Like mentioned above, it does take time, it won't happen overnight but it will happen & it's how long you take to make it happen... Strength and wisdom 🙏 to you my friend.
What's interesting to me is that what the Rabbi is discussing and sharing has been part of Witchcraft for the longest time as well. This idea of Shadow work is not new, proactively facing it and changing YOU rather than others is also not new. BUT many many people haven't heard of it or if they did they wrote it off. I find it very great to see this being discussed here. This is so good to see.
Wow.. wish I could've either heard this or spoken to this man in my early 20's.. Possibly could've saved me and others around me from a world of hurt 😔😔 from roughly 2:00 - 3:00, he completely described me at that time to a T
Amazing interview, Now we can understand better how to handle with anger problems. Your podcast channel encourages us to make deep reflexions in several areas of our lives. So amazing. 💯
Anger is Human I try to understand it Unbiased and use it as motivation Example If you care for and protect your family yet Don't care about mine or myself We're chewing on a different bone That kind of anger motivates
I found the best way to curb your anger is to learn how to not take yourself too seriously. Learn to laugh at yourself and see a loss of your emotions as a weakness. Now I’d never dream of rising a fist in anger, only as a means to an end.
I follow a similar practice through chaos magick to isolate these negative egos and name them. Give them a character. Learn how they work and then compromise with them, or if compromise is not possible, banish or dominate them. Learned about this from Grant Morrison. They would be a FANTASTIC guest, Jon. Off topic observation. Boy, I hope Jon is rocking the Frank Castle look for a reason.
I hope this gets to John.💯💯 I was in rehab in Raleigh North Carolina in 2016(I believe) right after the holidays. I believe I was in there with John if not him then someone wealthy and also knew martial arts. I was involved in a fight one day in the cafeteria with a patient who was psychotic. This guy who I think was John was in the same unit as I was. The next day I see the guy in the cafeteria again with a different unit. But he came up out of nowhere and as I stood up he threw milk on my face. This guy did a spinning kick directly in this man's chest and knocked him down. I would love to know if it was really him. I don't know
3:34 - Because it's always your own fault 😑, excluding actual abusive people, it's normal to critise one's spouse and change will only happen if said spouse decides to do so. 4:11 - Dude literally said that there's "assumingly" no thought behind critism. Having to correct other people is a true motivation, just because certain critisms comes through anger (Picture a drill sargent) doesn't invalidate the criticism itself. 5:43 - Specifically regarding not holding the rifle correctly, I'm not surprised that they got angry if they had to keep reminding him cause his forgetfulness would endanger the people around him and himself. 6:04 - If he had a backbone they would've stopped just a thought. 6:50 - No that is repression cause you keep having to reason away your anger, and given how I assume that he lives a pacifist life style I'm not surprised if he has to do this daily. This is different from self-reflection where you look inwards to better yourself. TLDR; It's repression because he looks inwards to explain away the pain/anger thereby justify the actions he took that caused these feelings. 7:55 - So the anger never goes away. 8:29 - It ain't the school's job to teach kids how to feel, that falls to the parents who have to guide kids through. Cursive is useless but if I had to go through it, so do your kids (joke).
I like this Rabbi dude and his philosophy, but I'm worried that his approach to anger migh not work for some and make them unbearably out of touch... We need confrontations sometimes.
The book of John does not say all the Jews agreed to crucify Jesus. It tells of Jesus’ 12 disciples, his Jewish friends, and many followers who did not support crucifixion. It does say that there were a group of religious leaders who presented him to the Romans for Crucifixion. And earlier Jesus said their father was Satan-Jesus spoke in language people would understand at that time- they were behaving as kids obeying an evil father. Also, to say that Jews would never have a meeting on Passover, that defies common sense-if a matter is seen as extremely important we can be sure it would be discussed. Would religious leaders work on the Sabbath( in modern times, would the stack a few sandbags if they Also, my personal experience (evangelical Christian) is that Christians view Jews in an elevated class of sorts. I was taught when we are “born again” we are adopted into God’s original sons & daughters aka the Jewish people ((not sure if I agree, but that is what I was taught)
You would be surprised that there are people in the church, temple or what have you who are legit qualified counselors to better serve their congregation and community. I'm not saying that you should find religion as the only answer, but if you lack the resources to reach a counselor to address issues such as anger or relationships and willing to do some footwork (asking around, refereal from friends or coworkers), you will at least start on a positive path by addressing whatever negativity you have in your life out loud. Won't cost you anything except your willingness to try to control your life and time. The metaphorical mileage will vary depending on the denomination, but it can cover quite a few things
I know you see this so please have a great journey in life, push yourself, grind harder than I grind my pillow and make yourself proud and especially make me proud your old man much love spread it✌🏻❤

41, Same here, keep working on it and hold yourself accountable. It’s a lifelong struggle brother. Be blessed. It absolutely gets easier over time 💯

Manuel Schoch wrote great books on this very subject... Weird, illogical stuff, but somehow works.

There is no normal
My anger stems from losing Dudley Moore he was never able to do the sequel to Arthur 2 On The Rocks. I would have called it Arthur 2 On The Rocks 2

Jung studied Hinduism and mapped those principles onto shittyanity - this jew definitely took those principles from Jung.
He's boring, but his speech made a lot of sense to me.
