Grats on getting reunited with the G7! G7 is my daily shooter. Damn fine camera. Light weight, easy menu nav, quality photos.

Still got mine! Use it everyday but the autofocus sucks when you shoot in 4k! On another hand, AF is super quick when you shoot photos

I am using Lumix G85 camera. Still using 14-42 mm kit lens. I am very satisfied with camera. But one good quality extra video lens not affordable one. Lens price is too huge compared to other brands

The G7 rocks. Just bought one new. My old E300 was getting worn out. Not only are the new micro4/3 lenses amazing, but I've got the original 4/3 lenses too.

The G7 was my first MFT camera as well. Helped kickstart my passion for photography and videography. Moved on from the GH5 and picked up the G9M2 in March. Sadly have to send it out for a silly warranty repair so I'm breaking out the ole trusty G7 while I wait for the G9II to arrive back from repair. Excited to push that little guy again like years ago!

The G7 is the Main Camera for My Podcast Studio - Clients cant tell its a 8yr old camera! And my second camera is an old Nikon d5300 in studio - Color actually matches without tweaking

Got a used G7 for 200 and use it as a webcam. Very pleasing 8-bit 4k video. People can't believe the quality with a 9mm f1.7 on there! The IMAGE app still works great on my iPhone and makes working as a one-man band so easy and intuitive. I like the video quality overall and the files are small and easy to edit. Alternatively, you can spend another 120 bucks and scoop a used Olympus 45mm f1.8 and have a killer portrait setup $$$ It's such an excellent entry point into the M43 system.

I agree with every reason you've given for the Lumix G7: I believe it has received bad publicity. The autofocus is quick, and if you have the camera up to your eye, you can additionally focus with your thumb on the screen, which is very convenient. As for the lack of in-body image stabilization, I don't see it as a problem, but rather a limitation that isn't particularly problematic depending on the type of photo. Regarding ISO, even though it loses some sharpness, it's very functional, and up to ISO 1600, I think it's fine: it's preferable to increase the ISO than to lift shadows later. You have a great 4K (I love the video quality). I'm saying all this after not having used the camera for a long time, and I've enjoyed it for its ergonomics and because it's very lightweight to carry around. I think you do need to know how to handle highlights, and on the other hand, it's very easy to accumulate dust on the sensor. Kit lenses are OK (flare is my biggest issue, but zoom lenses are fine )Thank you very much for your content. Greetings from Santiago, Chile

I always thought the Panny image app was a bit sluggish connecting to the camera, but the UI is a dream compared to when I got an Oly and tried their equivalent app. 😰
You put forward a good case for the G7, but for my wildlife purposes I'd like a weeee bit more resolution.

I still use a first gen G1, I've shot more than 21,000 photos with that camera and it's getting a bit long in the tooth. I was thinking about getting a G7 and this video has confirmed my opinion. They're still available new in the UK, but reduced by £350. Bargain.

The GH7 is better than the Sony in every scenario except low light and autofocus. For night photography on the G7 you need a fast lens, one with an f1.4 or f1.7. There is the 15mm, 25mm, 42.5mm, etc.
