Jazz fan here. Dunno how familiar you are with Olynyk's game, but man, he can be a real impact player. He can shoot the 3 and is a really good passer. He knows the game, too! If he has to defend a superior athlete, his fouls will be effectively used. Wins more than 50% of disputed possessions. Good touch around the basket and has displayed an incredible, time-warpingly slow drive and Eurostep that is something to see.
Really came to appreciate his game while he was here, glad he's happy to be home. Good luck, y'all.

Another thing you didnt mention was that apparently, Bobby Webster and Scotty Barnes had discussions about finding a stretch big because its something the team hasnt had while Scotty has been on the Roster. So Scotty asked for a stretch big and they went and got him one.

For the people talking about Siakam. Siakam was making close to 40 mil dollars, so we didnt have the money to sign anyone. Management went to the team and they had discussions about what centers they could get, and EVERYONE that means Pascal included, agreed to bring in Jak and now the rest is history. Siakam is happy, Raptors are happy, keep it moving.

Given what a college player has to endure in his first two years of the NBA, I expect ALL NBA rookies in their 2nd year to have a down year just by what they had to endure in two years. Put yourself in their shoes - you grind all your life, your final year of eligbility you declare and sweat that you get drafted. You're drafted, tossed into the Summer League or G-League right away. Then you're hopefully on the bench or on the court right away, so you've gone from busting to immediately into the NBA with that stuff in between with no break. Play the entire year and then crash and go wow time for a breather by the 2nd summer which then puts you behind the 8ball when year 2 starts because instead of you doing your regular routine during the summer you're so burrnt out from running a gauntlet in two years that it's probably only natural to ease off on the grind that following summer. Year 3 is where you determine if the player is really going to be a player in the NBA or if he's going to fizzle out. Crazy logic, I know.

Everyone freaks out about how new players say glowing things about the Raptors organization and their fans and are happy to join the team. What do they expect them to say? 99% of players are going to say they love the team and the city they were traded to. It's the classy thing to say, and more importantly--you don't bite the hand that feeds you! This team had to deal the other 1% when we received Goran Dragic from the heat. That classless idiot wasn't smart enough to give what should've been obvious answers. Hell even good players that are traded to bottom feeders know enough to act enthusiastically.
