- Alien Romulus has shown us connections to Alien Isolation in images, and in the teaser trailer, so lets examine the timeline of Alien Isolation and its follow ups from the comics and novels, Aliens Defiance, Aliens Resistance, Aliens Rescue, Alien Blackout, and Alien Prototype... This includes the tales of Amanda Ripley, Zula Hendricks, and Davis, as they work to wipe out the Xenomorph Aliens while keeping them from Weyland Yutani.

Alien Isolation has such a dear special place in my heart and I was so happy to finally see a movie referencing it so much
The main canon is becoming so much richer than just the films! I love this. Amanda and Zula's arc is totally canon
I love Aliens: Apocalypse too. It's my favorite comic and for me is sequel to original Alien. I hope we can find a references to it in Alien Romulus.
I was born in the 90s so I missed out on the experience of viewing Alien in theaters and even if I had the option to see it on the big screen growing up it still would be missing the shock n awe/originality that made it so unique when seen by viewers in the 70s! Though I was a fan of Alien n Aliens growing up I wasn’t a huge fan! It wasn’t until playing Isolation that my fandom reignited plus being a game it allowed me to experience the world of Alien similar to viewings of the original back in the day….even superior obviously since you control the navigation & survival! I loved Isolation beating it on hard once then nightmare twice! I was very impressed with Romulus director for quite a few reasons but the biggest was finding out that he was not only a actual fan of the films but the game! Seems like he’s took some inspiration from it which can only be a good thing so it’s looking like a modern take that’s similar to the original Alien with a bit of Aliens mixed in but also taking inspiration from the game!
That lab scene reminds me of Resident Evil
I would love to see an alien film set on a small other world colony, maybe an isolation 2? I can’t really get into the extended universe of alien, it takes away too much of the mystery but I love isolation 🥰

The problem is that the beginning of the second movie implies that no one knew about the aliens except for Ripley. That means each time almost everything that happened in the prequels, the game, and this new movie were either forgotten or effectively kept hidden from most. It's like a weird deus ex machina causing mass amnesia each time.
it always bothered me as well, but that's how mystery and suspense get obliterated by corporate greed and overzealous fans(litt. fanatics) imo , i just hope we don't see xenomorphs being tamed with almond water and fight Jason or Freddy ....

when is mv godzilla fight record coming we now have godzilla vs kong monarch and godzilla x kong and those had a lot of godzilla fights in it
I do believe that in a trailer we can see the same watch on a wrist that is used by Amanda in the game
Was it ever said in anything about who is Amanda's father?
All we have is a first name: Alex. Homie went to get milk when Amanda was 3 and never came back.

The idea that something is 'canon' in the Alien universe is a bit silly.
A few years ago, Blomkamp was about to erase Alien 3 & 4 with his new film, while the new TV show is going to ignore everything Ridley Scott generated about the space jockeys (thank f**k) in Prometheus.
Someone made a video essay recently about how the reliance on Ripley has been the series' downfall, and I agree. She was a great character but even the chances that she would run into the creatures a second time were astronomical (but forgivable, as Aliens is such an incredible movie).
The idea that her *daughter* is now running around chasing xenomorphs is daft, and lacks tension, as we know she dies of old age on earth.
Give us new scenarios and characters ffs.
The new Alien TV show is NOT ignoring the prequels it's simply adding a different perspective. There is no Amanda Ripley in Romulus, the lead character is a mercinary called Rain Carradine.
I would think the chance of Ripley running into an xenomorph a second time, on the same moon where there are thousands of eggs onboard an alien ship, is very likely. If not, inevitable. But I get your point. There are many good EU stories and characters that could be explored.
