5 tips for driving in snow and ice. +comparing tires and vehicles

Driving in snow and ice can be dangerous. With a little knowledge of what to do and a little practice things can be much safer. Most important is slow down and don't make any sudden stops or starts.
Be aggressive driving up hill. Be very cautious driving downhill. If you start to slide it will take a long time to stop. Snow tires make a huge difference. Rear wheel drive vehicles are the worst.

Good tips. I also downshift going downhills when its icy. I feel hardly anyone does this anymore.

Thanks and so true I forgot to add the downshift. My wife is very diligent about downshifting when going down our hill in ice.

I can think of nothing I hated more than “chaining” up when going over the pass to Pullman while I was in college. Thanks for your tips
