I agree! And one thing that I really like about this is the fact that the people of Indore are really proud of it! I have many friends from the place and the second you mentioned anything about cleanliness. They pipe up and speak about how they keep everything clean where they're from, they also usually keep their corners of the neighborhoods they are in relatively clean out of habit. Lol (although, of course you end up having people who kind of get negatively influenced and end up littering like they would have otherwise, which is sad to see)
INDORE has proved that behavioral change of society is not impossible in india. when we will go togeather we will definitely bring change in our society. thanks down to earth to make this video.
Congratulations to the leaders and the local community of Indore. Hoping other countries such as Philippines will follow this successful waste management program.

This is positive use of energy. We Indians should stop fighting with each other in the name of caste ,religion, language and focus our efforts just like people have done in Indore.
Commendable on the part of the people of indore and IMC which has purposefully carried out cleanliness efforts in the city. Thank you down to earth for making such a wonderful video for others to take motivation from.
A great example to emulate. This video is surely an eye opener to all people who discount the role of the govt authorities in waste management and put all the onus on the end users. Sure, people must segregate garbage and give for collection. But after that further refining the segregation, waste processing, incineration, recycling etc is the role of the govt and various other entities.
very much impressed with the progress indore made. Their parks are very good, people are motivated. officials are sincere and politicians are good . kudo's to indorians
Wonderfully wonderful achievement of the people of Indore, and the collective finest efforts of all the authorities involved in this gigantic tasks of remaining the #1 in the national survey each year! All of you deserve the national rewards! All the very best wishes for all of you! 🙏🙏
Watching this video after witnessing the massive landfill fire in Kochi.. Hoping to see this transformation in Kochi and other major cities in India.Jai Hind!
This is due to Punaya Karma of Devi Ahilya bail Holakar , Since She is role model for all the people of Indore, This Impossible task for a fairly big city of 20+ lakh people became possible.
It all starts with people's dedication and then the important efforts of the local governments to manage waste...this model is possible in all cities and Villages of India only the cooperation... People have to recognise the importance of segregation of solid waste
It gives me a headache wondering when we have a successful waste management model in a city, why is the rest if India not implementing it. Will is perhaps a big thing!
I really don't understand wider India's relationship with its waste & garbage. Especially given the 'Swachh Bharat' campaign which the our PM was supposedly such a big champion of. One the one hand the country is visbly dirty pretty much everywhere given the large population and inherent habits of littering amongst the majority. But it is too easy to dismiss the public's littering habit as the root cause of our country's filthiness and do nothing about it as politicians usually do. The bigger truth however is no country's population is full free of such habits. In fact public apathy towards littering is one of the big problems USA itself faced back in the 60s. The real problem however is not littering I think. It is structural lack of standardized processes of waste collection and waste management. If there is no government initiative to collect waste or dispose it, what can the wider public do? They have to dispose their waste someplace. Without a centralized system in place no one has the time to do "personal ethical waste management" The Modi govt. even with it's "Swachh Bharat" drama seems to have done absolutely nothing in terms of establishing this waste management process. Making videos & taking photos about cleaning the street using a long broom for a couple of days is good for publicity and image but does nothing about India's filth problem. On the other hand, there is a constant worry about unemployment among a big section of the India public especially those transitioning from rural to urban India. Investing in a centralised 21st century pan-India waste management system [one that truly respects its workers by providing dignified safety gear, salaries and benefits, instead of treating them as "low varna/jaati people who are meant to do this work" as they are now treated (hence justifying their work hazards, low salaries)], though expensive in the short-term, not only creates cleanliness in the country but also creates jobs, make citizens comfortable living in their country and even indirectly may reduce brain drain, apart from all the ecological benefits. Maybe I'm just a dreamer, but hey....I'm not the only one.
This initiative is part of the Swachh Bharat Mission itself. Maybe you are half informed but Swacch bharat sarvekshan actually is part of the SBM itself. Also, you must listen to the last part of the video wherein the commissioner speaks about the reasons why Indore could maintain its high ranking in cleanliness. If there are people willing to cooperate , no goal is too less. It is a collective effort and not a political exercise. SBM is a very welcome initiative which atleast made the conversation about waste management a wider discussion.
They also charge it in indore. I am a resident of Indore, but we are happy to give 100rs per month to keep my city clean. It not only helps to keep it clean but also generates money for salaries of safai mitra hence people are having employment. See "the print" channels documentary about Indore, you will get many insights which are not included in this video.
I really wish same thing happens in city of Mumbai. Most popular and visited by huge numbers of foreigners, get very disappointed by Garbage dumps, dog's and cattle still roaming in streets.Total mismanagement ,i heard though it's the richest municipality in India.
This should be imitated by all the major municipalities in India. Hopeless to see the apathy by the politician turned corporators in Kolkata doing nothing much like this. #KolkataMunicipalCorporation
Indore's biodegradable #Wet waste #quality is better than Europe's. For Bio methanation plant you need top quality waste in which there is barely any mixing of Non biodegradable waste. (As per company which built this plant said, that's why they were interested in more plants in other cities but wanted assured quality waste for it, which others (Local Bodies) failed to provide).
Quite commendable indeed. Also looks like Indore actually has footpaths with sett/cobblestones, let alone them being clean, which is impressive for India. BTW: 1:41 It should be "a few years _ago",_ not "back" (i.e., पहले not पीछे) 10:11 Not "commendable impacts", but commendable _effects;_ "impact" means a crash/collision, and I'm not sure when those would be commendable. I don't know why this jargon word is becoming popular these days.
Don’t whitewash Madhya Pradesh too much. Attacks against minority Christians is evident. You can’t hide minority persecution by progressive development. V❤❤
This is a perfect and proper example of waste managment for the country. we should implement this model in every city.
