I found a really good deal on a 2022 SB130 frame set with float X shock but i'm wondering is it still interesting/relevant in 2023 to buy this bike now that the SB140 is there ? d'love to have your thaughts
The SB130 is still an amazing bike.. but if you are not an aggressive rider the SB140 will be a lot more comfortable to you and worth the extra money. If you are more on the aggressive side both work great, but the SB140 is just a little more compliant and comfortable for most I would say.
Awesome review! I think if you add some more varying terrain (flowy decends /techy climbs/techy descend) and some more description on how the bike behaves (popy/planted/plush/some more buzz words) It would take this review from awesome to PERFECT!
The float x is a lively shock on the 130. Not very fast worthly but def fun. When ya get tired of it, put on a 210x55 coil on it. Whole other world of awesomeness
Nice review. Gives me hope my t1lr will be in soon. Lbs got C models in a few weeks ago. I pre ordered Aug 31st. Kinda wish I upgraded the wheels but $7700 already gives me a bit of heartburn.
Oh right on! Yeah I ordered this one a long time ago. It was suppose to be a 2021, then yeti said it got canceled.. then it ended up being the first bike the shop got for 22’… so I got lucky!
Sold my 2019 RM Instinct BC maybe 6 months ago and thinking of a 115 or 130, i been viewing a 2022 130 T-2 with XO non carbon wheels in that cool watermelon color, price is $8200.00
Sb130lr vs bronson mx. How do they compare climbing and descending. Debating between the two and I assume the bronson descends better but is the yeti far behind?
There is no match between the two climbing. The yeti is way faster and more efficient! the decent isn’t crazy better on the Bronson. It is a little smoother but if you’re an aggressive rider the yeti will actually be more comfortable most likely, where if you are a more relaxed rider then the Bronson will be more comfortable on the descent. I am thinking there might be a new designed 130 and also something to think about is the Hightower. That should be updated this year as well. (both in the later summer to fall time frame)
Thanks for your advice was about to buy a 2022 Specialized stumpjumper the same one you reviewed don't know what to do now 🤔 as I'm running shimano xt brakes twin piston they're pretty good the bike is in the sale but don't want to have worse brakes 🤔
@@dialedmtb glad I saw this. Currently have a Tallboy 4 but was looking to move to a sb130 (non LR) for better climbing performance. I would have thought the switch infinity on the sb130 would make it a better climber than the Tallboy? Especially since you said this bike was 10/10 in climbing and that you can’t get any better. You sure the Tallboy climbs better? I’m not impressed with climbing on the Tallboy.
@@pjbeattie1 I have owned both now and the TB4 💯 climbs better than the SB130. However the SB115 climbs better than both and is just as capable as the TB4.
I don’t have access to any Evil bikes, I wish! I’ve heard good things about them. Tell them you want the channel to review their bikes! haha But Troy and 130, that’s tough. They feel quite a bit different.
Haha are you not from Boise area? But honestly with the float X, I like this bike more then the Hightower. I didn’t think this would make that big of a difference but I had 2 130’s before this and they were not even close. Pretty crazy but yeah, long answer long.. I like the 22’ SB130 more then the 22’ Hightower
@@dialedmtb I mainly ride Post Canyon In Oregon … My local shop has the sb130 LR i’m stock that I might try to demo. How do you think the sb130 will do jumping ?
The bike should work good over there! But it jumps good, but if you’re doing a ton of jump lines and that’s mainly what you do I’d probably go with something else but if it’s just something you do every once in a while it will be good.
Hi looks great, whats the weight of your set up? How you will compare with sb150 or stumpy evo? Are bikes in my radar for enduro with a bit of everything, from flow to chunky, some pedalling routes, some big descends.. Thanks
So sadly I have never rode the Stumpy Evo.. but I have heard its great. I do have a regular 2022 Stumpy Pro though and its a good bike, but not what you would want. But if you are doing some gnarly riding or racing enduro's the SB150 is not a bad do everything bike. It climbs amazing for what it is and descends great also. The 130 is probably one of the best Trail/All Mtn bikes out right now. I would race an enduro on it no problem, but if I was doing more then a couple per year I would probably want the 150. Hope that helps!
@@dialedmtb Hey man .Just stumbled upon your channel and your content is sweet because u ride all the bikes I'm actually into.. I have question.. Is it really going to be way worse of a climber ? Look forward to hearing back..Awesome channel.
100%! I had a couple before 22’s with the float X and never got along with the rear ended of this bike. I got them okay but never great or was happy with them. This rear shock fixed everything I wasn’t happy with but still kept it fun!
I live in the Boise area looking at buying my first real mountain bike. It's between this and the sb115, if you could only have 1 what would you go with for Idaho trails?
Hey! I would for sure go with the SB130 over the 115. the 115 is good, but in the summer here Bogus is a blast and the 130 will be great there while the 115 wouldn’t be ideal. Then for everyday rides the 130 is still a great bike.
What I dislike about the SI is how overcomplicated it is. Seems like a solution looking for a problem. When I had a yeti I was constantly annoyed by the dirt ledge they call SI. I'm not a fair weather only rider and maybe the bike was made that fair weather only.

@@dialedmtb I loved mine too but it isn't made for the conditions I ride in. I went back to basics. Figured that since I don't really race much I will go for max fun. I use the specialized zee cage. It’s a 22oz bottle but a 26 does fit but it’s a tight.
