  • Hey Guys,
    Here is another detailed video of my step-by-step guide to mastering the tumble turn, or as some people call it, a flip turn.
    I've been teaching these for years and have noticed that some clients find it pretty overwhelming at the start, which is why I have broken this video up into stages.
    Don't move to the next stage until you have comfortably mastered the previous stage. Also, don't be concerned if you get some water up your nose one the first few tries...that's normal. Just make sure you are blocking your nose or blowing air out your nose as your turn.
    So try out these tips and I'm sure it will really help you improve or learn the tumble turn.
    For even more tips or to dramatically improve your swimming fitness check out my 8-week, detailed swimming programs at:
    stephanierice.com.au/collecti...
    Level 1 = 600m - 1.5km
    Level 2 = 1.5km - 2.5km
    Level 3 = 2.5km - 4km
    I'd love to hear how you go with these tips, so please comment below so I can check in with you guys and also let me know if you have any questions.
    Xx

    👍Make sure your blowing air out your nose as your flipping because if water flows into your nose it will sting like if you gotten punched in the nose.

    I have watched more tumble turn instructional videos than I can count, and this is the first one that told me everything I wanted to know. All the details I needed were either shown well or explained well, or both. From the arm position on the flip to the dolphin kick at the start of the turn to the feet pointing slightly to one side, I finally feel like I have a good chance of getting it right the next time I hit the pool. Thank you for making this..

    she makes it look so easy!! two tips I noticed that I'll try is a. the dolphin kick to start the flip and b. both arms are 100% at her side when she starts the flip, which means her arms don't really move but end up in streamline after the flip... this looks really nice!

    Stephanie, do you blow bubbles through your nose when doing tumble turns?

    • @dimaskelvianto5173
      @dimaskelvianto5173 Год назад +1

      Definitely I believe. The water goes up to your nose if you don’t blow bubbles. Or else you can use nose clip to avoid it.

    • @Nishka_M
      @Nishka_M Год назад +5

      As a swimmer, yes you have too. Trust me, it’s incredibly painful if you don’t blow bubbles. The water goes very high up your nose and it’s burns so much!

    • @ruthatashacalsada1765
      @ruthatashacalsada1765 11 месяцев назад +1

      You should bubble when u do a flip turn. If you don’t the water will enter your nose, so u have to avoid it by bubbling.

  • @tiemen88
    @tiemen88 10 месяцев назад

    In the exersise you use your arms in the front, but when you actualy do the turn you have your arms in the back.

    ❤ beautiful. sadly for me, i am unable to do this maneuver, which basically precludes my olympic opportunities as a less than amateur swimmer at 50 something :) but seriously, spinal damage has me lucky to even be in the water. that said, i am wondering if there is even a remote chance of an open turn matching speed wise a tumble turn in a racing situation? my wall push offs are terrible and weak and not lengthy, my dolphin kick is lame, in the truest sense of the word in that it has to be subtle motion at most (damn it, spinal damage), and although my surfer body paddle torso can have me delusionally 'competitive' in the lane, i get beat at the turns and underwaters. are people even allowed to open turn in freestyle competitions? hmm. well. again, no olympics for me anyway, so, whatevs i guess :)
