    It's incredibly how they can peform multiple 'sitting kicks' and still continue dancing. They have amazing stamina. Ask any western man to try and do the same and he will probably be rolling on the floor or gripping his back in pain.

      I guess that has to do with showing off their bravery and masculinity. Landing on both hands is safe of course but who needs *safe* when one is a ferocious gun toting, "death defying horse riding COSSACK?

    Apparently the word Kazakh is in fact from the same root as Cossack, but the word simply refers to a free-spirited nomad type, without implying nationality - Cossacks were such, as were early Kazakhs, but it doesn't mean they were the same people.

    • @AudieHolland
      @AudieHolland 6 лет назад

      My theory is that Cossacks usually operate riding from horseback. Maybe they invented these kind of dances to get rid of saddle sore or stiffness in the back and upper legs. A bit like I have a theory about how Irish dancing was created from the fact they had to stand all day doing work in the fields or crouch doing work in the mines. Notice how in Irish dancing, the hands do next to nothing. Probably because they were working mostly with their hands (and arms).

    Well, if some celebrities would do this Russian dance, they will probably end up with a lot of injuries. This dance is so much harder than you think. I mean, if you are a breakdancer, it would be much easier because they are used to do these acrobatic stunts. But the average dancer/celebrity would have some difficulties with it.

    • @andredel.8302
      @andredel.8302 7 лет назад +2

      Ukraine was not exist at this time! Learn History, look at old maps and globes, you will see Little Russia that what they call now Ukraine. This old part of Russia they start to call Ukraine after communist revolution in 1921-24

    • @LaraLazarOz
      @LaraLazarOz 7 лет назад +2

      Absolutely correct
      Watch Ukrainian Hopak and Zaporozhyets and see real cossak dance
      Original cossaks were Ukrainians and this is a vague copy and it shows
      The music is not spirited or fast enough nor has it got the masculine sound
      Search Hopak Dance by Virski and experience the DNA of real Cossacks

    • @LaraLazarOz
      @LaraLazarOz 7 лет назад +1

      Andre DeL.
      Ukraine is on ancient maps from the 1100 when Russia did not exist nor was it in a map
      MOSCOVIA was on maps from only the 1300
      MOSCOVIA was changed to Russia only in 1721 by Peter 1
      Ukraine was a geographic name from the 5thcentury
      In the 9th century it was called Kyivan RUS as a big Empire - a political entity
      In 1917 the REPUBLIC OF UKRAINE was founded
      Ukraine =500ie the 6thcentury
      Kyiv RUS = a Ukrainian political entity
      MOSCOVIA - 1300ie 14thcentury as a Mongol vassal
      Russia 1721 ie 18th century
      USSR 1945 and that is not Russia
      Hence Ukraine 6th century
      And Russia 17th century
      Russia did not exist when Ukraine did
      In fact when Kyiv Rus existed as as powerful civilized Christian political entity
      The northern Finic tribes in the 8th century did not have a name -- that became RUSSIA in 1721 were pagan , were not a political entity and did not have a written language
      Time you learned ancient history and not embarass yourself with crap and false information

      As usual when the truth of history Kyiv existed from 500AD and Moscow was a large swampy waste land of backward people living in mud huts and having birch bark as foot wear, and the Tsars originated from Kyiv Rus all current history was stolen from the Southern Rus just as the customs and religion so there.

  • @wenqiweiabcd
    @wenqiweiabcd 12 лет назад

    There are many cossack organisations; some predominately Russian, some Ukrainian, but thats hardly the point. The Cossack culture belong to all Eastern Slavic cultures.

    • @LaraLazarOz
      @LaraLazarOz 7 лет назад +1

      Mr. Wen \m/
      Cossaks arose in Ukraine
      100 yrs before there were any cossaks in the Rudsy Empire
      The Cossack in the Russian Empire were UKRAINIAN COSSACKS who fought for Catherine 2 and Potemkin
      Russian divisions were established by Ukrainian Cossacks
      Without the Ukrainian Cossacks there would not have been the development of the Russian Empire Cossacks THAT HAD ABSORBED Ukraine!!!!
      Get your facts
      Read history broadly and with understanding
      Emphasis on broad history knowledge as opposed to Russian DISINFORMATION

      No problem! Don't forget to watch the "Russian and Ukrainian Sword". It is not for "lazy people", but maybe it will intrigue you: ff you think about king Arthur while you are watching it, you are very right. Actually, it is (probably) a Sarmatian/Scythian (former names for Russians) legend. All British peoples were founded by them according to their myths. See Wikipedia->Scythians->Descent Claims.

    Thanks to you, sir/madam, this argument has degraded into a name-calling competition involving each others nationality and age. I too wish to conclude this argument, but I'd like to do so by pointing out to you that your view on Russia and Russian history is very wrong, and if you want to continue, I would not reply back asking why you're keeping this argument going. Good day to you.

    That's the origin of Cossacks, but over the history it has become associated with all Eastern Slavic cultures. It's been a major force in the Russian military in the 17th and 18th centuries. To call those Cossacks "Ukrainian Mercenaries" would be a tad over the top, wouldn't you agree? Not to mention the fact that predominantly Russian cossack organisations have been formed in Russia.

  • @wenqiweiabcd

    By true source, do you mean Ukrainian Nationalist websites? Anyone can write anything on Wikipedia, but just have a look at the editing history, the discussion page, and the list of well sources that are cited. You're accustomed to dismissing anything that is beyond your knowledge, beyond what you know in your head for granted, without ever stopping to question the validity of your own assumed truth. You are the one who needs to do some research before posting.

  • @wenqiweiabcd
    @wenqiweiabcd 12 лет назад

    Yeah, yeah, I was waiting for that "I'm Ukrainian you're not so shut the fuck up" argument. It's NOT your history that's concerned, it's your view on the Russian (or perhaps 'Muscovite' in case you think your people are the only true successor of Rus) history that's far, far divorced from reality. You're just dismissing anything that goes against your knowledge as "untrue, incorrect" and "Russian propaganda", be it Wikipedia or Encyclopedia Britannica. Do you, yourself, find this convincing?
