My grandfather had high Soviet military rank, he was very talented in many languages, music, technology, engineering, and was an overall wholesome and sweet man. He never told me much about what he did, and I’m sure it’s because they swore him to secrets, but he always spoke kindly on his friends in the military. One man who he knew could dance a lot like this, though being old now like my grandfather he couldn’t anymore, but the stories about it were always nice. I met him once and he was a very witty person, I wonder if he ever got to dance for videos like this hearing how good he was. Sorry for bad grammar, English isn’t my first language.
This is a shining example of the fact that the Soviet Army was one of the greatest ever, because instead of shunning Musicians, artists, and the intellectual, they encouraged them! Soviet Soldiers weren't mindless goons stripped of their identity and individuality like US Marines and the like, having had their spirits broken by abusive commanding officers, and meaningless, empty rhetoric, barked at them day in and day out until they become a killing machine. Soviet Soldiers had political training, because after all - A soldier without ideology is a potential criminal - and their superiors were their comrades first, and their commanders second. Soviet Soldiers fought because they loved! Evil returns as evil, but when it comes to love ~ souls mate eternal. It will all come back to us my friends, and the meek shall inherit the Earth!

I don't agree with you. Borscht, even in the days of Kiev Rus, began to be prepared on the territory of Ukraine, because all the ingredients for this dish grew well here, and only then other Slavs adapt and improve the other recipes to fit the products of their region. If we talk about kvas, then a drink very similar to it was described by Herodotus and Hippocrates, so this is absolutely not a Slavic drink, it just became the most popular on their lands. And pelmeni is generally an Asian dish ... Moreover, the people of Ukraine and Russia have a completely different mentality and a rather different culture, which unfortunately began to assimilate during the USSR
@@bazhenakyhot9192 And potatoes were originally imported from the Americas. Didn't stop them from becoming a slavic (especially Belarusian) culinary staple. Culture is a complex and dynamic concept and one thing can be a part of several different histories. Many distinct aspects of japanese culture originated in China, but the japanese adopted them, made them their own. This is a good thing, it helps different peoples learn and grow, and honestly? If our leaders focused more on what brings us together rather than divides us, there'd be fewer wars and less hatred.
I saw in another comment that the guys with the blue caps are from aviation and the guys in the red are infantry (part of the whole friendly competition thing) so that guy's specific dance was meant to mock the infantry. It just makes this post so much better.

@@bazhenakyhot9192 I mean, It kind of is? Ukraine and Russia overlap in many cultural aspects. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that other slavic countries consider borscht their 'thing' as well. Same with pelmeni and kvas.
