I bought it yesterday, it works perfectly, I would like to add that if you press / charge a little harder the coffee foam will be richer but the coffee will come out more slowly and vice versa, also after each use wipe the coffee grounds on the machine where the water comes out, also do not use the advice city water from the tap, because it creates limescale, you can buy some cheaper purchased mineral of course non-carbonated, makes a very rich aroma of coffee with the help of 15 bar pump, quiet, fast heating water, easy to use and maintain, for this money in its range I think that it is almost the best considering all the facts and also the most important things, thanks to the video it helped me decide for it, whoever buys it will not regret it for a moment and will be delighted after the first cup of any coffee, greetings to all coffee lovers from Serbia...☕
I must agree, one tip i use, if you like ur cup hot to maintain ur coffee hot for longer, i put 3 cups of water thought the steamer, heats machine n the cup.
I bought this yesterday and find that the coffee I’m drinking has no taste and is very bland. The coffee I’m using is decent quality as well. Would anyone have any tips on this?
@Stephen K approx 30 seconds I’d say, about half a tea mug full roughly. Also when I’m pressing the button for the machine to heat up water seems to trickle out, also the thermostat gets stuck and will not go back to zero after use, I have a feeling my unit is probably faulty
Most people use already ground coffee that is coarsely ground, I like to buy it in beans and personally grind it a little finer, why a little finer, first I get more coffee when grinding, second the foam is a little richer because this machine has 15 bar pressure and it is not a problem for him, depending on the quality of coffee that will be the taste of your coffee, do not hope from the middle class of coffee that your taste will be top, when I use the same coffee already ground and when I buy it in beans and ground it by myself and do everything the same, the taste is different because freshly ground coffee and coffee that stands for who knows how long ground is not the same, I use another trick, when I heat the water I press the right steam button and let the hand / pointer go a little higher than the icon cups of coffee then press the left button once and twice, so the coffee will be a little hotter than usual, and sometimes I additionally heat the cup a little in the microwave before pouring,we are all different and each of us loves coffee made in his own way, when I pour coffee into a cup I don't like to mix it with a teaspoon so I heat the milk and sugar in the microwave to melt the sugar, I don't use that metal additive for steam at all, I tried once I see how it works and that's it
I'm getting an extremely bad plastic taste from my machine though. Anyone else had this? Washed it with sodium bicarbonate a few times but stays..I suspect it's the plastic tube in the water reservoir. Just wonder if it gets better in time. Bought yesterday. Can't drink it..taste of plastic all the way.
@@Djiejejdj hi, maybe you're heating it too much, I don't remember having that problem, make espresso when the arrow hits just above the cup sign 😄 anyway it will probably "wash off" after few uses, run the water several times
Hi Thank you for your complete teaching. I have bought this machine recently and I have a question that you may be able to help me. The manometer doesn't reach zero when I turn the machine off. Is it OK or there may be a problem? Thank you in advance
I bought the same machine, the temperature won’t reach more than 82-3 C though. I have used it for a week now and it has never reached the cup indication🤔
you have to stop manually, that's one of the important reasons why I bought it, sometimes I want to put more and sometimes less water depending on the type and strength of coffee and depending on what I make...
its doesnt stop by itself which is stupid cause everytime your coffee is gonna come out defferent literally dont buy this shit its a waste of time and the coffee is crap i bought it and im dissapointed as fuck
This thing died on me after 8 months of use. Even after endless descaling, won't pump hard enough to exit the coffee. Never will buy Silvercrest ever again.
Nice Video. But a good espresso is at max 9 Bar. And the Maschine got a pressurised portafilter. Meaning you get even crema with really coarse grounds. I would recommend saving the Money to buy a flair. But this is more for Espresso Fans.
Good, clear review of this inexpensive coffee machine. Like you, I'm not really a fan of latte or cappuccino, and have been looking for a compact espresso machine that doesn't cost thousands of pounds. I noticed recently that Lidl have the same, or similar, machine on sale as I write. I'm replacing a Nespresso machine that cost more than twice as much, and has just given up the ghost. To be honest, I've never enjoyed being tied into the plastic capsule ecosystem as it limits the type of coffee you can use, and isn't exactly environmentally friendly.
Just bought this machine but am getting a constant extreme PLASTIC taste from the coffee and milkfoam it produces. Anyone else has this problem. Does it disappear after regular use? I suspect it's from the plastic rubber pipe in the water reservoir. But I can't drink mine. The plastic taste is extreme.
Hello! I'm not sure if you're ever gotta see this but I'll try my luck. I got my Silver Crest espresso machine today. My cousin in Italy sent it to me here in the Philippines and she didn't test it when she bought it. Today, I encountered a problem with it. I followed what you did in this video but there's no water or steam coming out of the machine. 😭
The manual on page 10 says sometimes air gets stuck and u need to press steam button and turn knob and let steam come out. It should take like 20 sec it says.
Lol. Come on don't be so harsh on the Techguru. Apparently he doesn't know much about espresso...well most people don't. And that's ok , we are all here to learn. However if you change the basket with a decent one and throw away these pressurized bullshit (did you see the crema from the espresso he made? haha it's ridiculous ) hack a bit the temperature (depending on the coffee you use) grind your own beans (of course) etc etc ...then you may be able to extract a drinkable espresso even with a cheap machine.
with all due respect, the way you are making coffee is horribly wrong, pretty much everything about it. It is really not great to see that perhaps a lot of people who see this video (and have just entered the world of dialling in espresso) think this is the way to make coffee (even if it is only with this machine)! I do suggest that you inform yourself better about dialling in espresso in general and what are the effective factors contributing to that. You surely will see the improvement.

I have a problem with this machine, I can't twist the handle or "clock it" to the center it's really tight, anyone else?
I had it stuck a few times. Turned the machine OFF and then tried it gently, then it worked.

On a regular use with normal water and assuming the thermometer is OK, the minimum temperature you will see is your current ambient temperature.
I bought the same machine, the temperature won’t reach more than 82-3 C though. I have used it for a week now and it has never reached the cup indication🤔
I have the same problem with mine. The espresso/steam buttons don’t seem to be working at all. They don’t flash when the machine is turned on
Does it stop on it own or do you have to manually stop it when you think it's enough coffee? Eg. Sing espresso or double espresso

Is it possible to do mocca or latte with this machine?
I have a problem when i tab in cofee botom she do the water in the vaporization voie
Hi everyone I bought this yesterday but after the first use it’s not heating well is it a problem
how long does it take to get to the right temperature?
less then a minute
Do you know if this machine has a stainless steel boiler assembly? Is it normal for machines at this price range to have that?
Wau have nice mic

Quick question what type of coffee to pick up for such a machine, first time user
Any decent pre-ground will do, finely ground coffee won't work well with the portafiler

Cappuccino needs 2/3 heavy cream milk Nd 1/3 coffee. Not 3 spoons of froth on the top!
