Last week, I bought the pink version (A2). Here is what I wasn't keen on : - The single measure cup has two nodules on the sides, the double measure has two. - The hot water will continue pouring through the coffee until YOU actually stop the water - I thought it would give you a measure of water. - When un/locking the espresso coffee handle into the machine, it's such a tight fit you have to hold the machine in place with your other hand, otherwise the machine will move in the direction of the way you are turning the handle! I liked being able to have my real coffee when I wanted it, so glad I have the machine.
Don't bother with the milk frother, the heating element scalds the coffee. The espresso on its own is outstanding, make sure the temperature dial doesn't go above 83 degrees. As soon as you turn the temperature up for the frother, the heater is then too hot to make coffee and it will scald any coffee you make. And the heat element doesn't cool quickly. If you only use it for making espresso - it's good espresso. If you start with the steam - don't bother. Also watch out for the inlet tube - it sometimes falls out (there are two possible holes when you try to reinsert it - use the one nearest to you)
@@uniquekillerz Also letting the espresso cool down at the same time? No thanks. I understand the price point of the machine and don't expect dual boilers, auto purging etc but at the point where you're completely reorganising a tried and tested recipe for your fav cup, I'm out. I can see this being at home in a student flat and that's about it to me, if your even sightly serious about a good cup, don't buy 50 quid cheap stuff from lidl
8:50 To make the tea I noticed you hot steamed the glass of cold water. Does it not have ttttthe option to pour boiling water from the unit ? Because the dial at the side shows water drops / steam as if they are two options ...
Thank you for this nice explanatory video. Is the material of the milk frother chrome or steel? You mentioned chrome at the beginning of the video, is it healthy for chrome to get hot?
@ Thank you for answering my question. With your permission, I would like to ask you a few more questions. It's been a while since your review video. Are you still satisfied with the product? Is there a decrease in performance? And most importantly, the device heats itself and then pours hot water into the expresso. Does the flowing hot water heat up in the plastic water tank or does it heat up as it passes through the metal resistance during the flow? I have a similar question: Does the steam water given by the milk frother heat up in the plastic water tank and spray, or does it heat up and give steam from the resistance while passing through the device? thank you very much in advance
Does anyone struggle with a plastic taste? The machine is functioning properly, I cleaned it before use but the coffee comes out tasting like plastic. Does anyone got tips getting rid of the plasticky taste? Thanks in advance
Hi and thanks for the review! Does the machine stop automatically after extracting the right amount of coffee or do you always have to stop it by your self?
Depends on the mug. I have one large mug and it just fills it to the top of it. Almost like it's gonna overflow. But it stops after a set amount of time.
Thank you for the review! Overall, are you satisfied with the quality of the espresso coffee it makes,in the long run? Also, because i am personally interested in the quality of milk foam it makes, and also due to the fact that its price now have been raised up to 90€,do you believe is worth the purchase? I would appreciate your honest opinion...
You are better of getting an entry Gaggia appliance, like Gaggia Vivo style or similar. They are around 100 euro here, but way better than this Silvercrest from Lidl.
Hi, i've been watching your channel since i found out you review lots of products from Lidl. I bought one in a different color (it's the SEM 1050 B1) but i'm going to return it since i can't use it with the ESE coffee pods. Did you had any problem? Thanks
That makes two of us. I only went in to get some veg, bits and pieces. Then I had to look around those shelves to see what they had and there was this coffee machine.
I got it today from lidl but sadly it was only grey one. I did buy it but ideally i would be happier with the pink one to mach my other pink silvercrest appliances.
@@shinagamitoo i just used my moms cheap ground coffee and it made it fantastic.Tastes like barista starbucks coffee very creamy.Which country do you come from ? We might not have the same coffee in stores to recommend you.
Really liking this machine. When I have made the coffee and take away the waste coffee its full of water not dry like in the demonstration, Any thoughts. Cheers
So it doesn't stop pouring on itself right? You have to stop it? How do you know when you've poured the correct amount for a shot? Also, would you say that the milk came out smooth and shiny or foamy like soap?
It stops automatically at some point. For 2 cups it is fine, though a bit watery when letting it run its course until it stops automatically. I would suggest stopping it yourself. Got the machine just yesterday and I experiment with how long I want to run it until it has my preferred taste. It says that in the instructions too. Experiment until you got the preferred taste for yourself.
Thank you for making this video, I found the manual hard to understand! Any guide on how to fill up the little cup, is that a min or max line on the cup or the scoop?
I bought this in RED and the first days I was quite impressed. But only after 3 days there is no water coming out of the "milk steamer". So no hot water coming out there, but epresso making is still fine. Everything is clean, no dry milk covering any holes of the steamer, everything is clean. There are coming out only a few drops and then it stops. I also tried inserting a neadle to clean, everything seems to be free. Espresso making is possible. Anyone else having this issue?
The first coffees 2x you can trow them away. And you have to wait untill the meter goes up. If you have actual problems.. go to the store you bought it. This guy makes reviews
Hey! Good video! One question, when all 3 buttons is flashing it means machine is too hot, so I have to turn off and turn on again? Or I can just hold on while its on for 5-10 min and it will cool off automatically?
Grazie

That's not about speed but about BEING jumpy for no reason...
the first espressos that you made, which filter did you use. the one cup filter or the two cup filter?
double

And how you going to make a latte machiato like that?

8 months later, whats your review on the machine? Any problems or its like the first day? Im thinking of buying One. Thank you
For 40 bucks what does it matter? Buy it and if it breaks, it breaks.
Great review. Picked mine up today in grey colour. Body is plasticky but as long as it does its job I'm good.

what is the size of the portfilter?
Have you had more use from the machine? And how have you found it?
Just think logic.. you can do any coffee with this

Usually is cooling down by himself
Open steam valve and start the water pump. this way the machine will cool down much faster.
be aware there will be steam and lots of water!
