  • Finally get out and shoot my High Standard Riot Shotgun!
    Beat up and ugly is my style, shoots like a dream!
    This is similar to the shotgun Seve McQueen used in the movie “The Getaway”
    Such a smooth buttery action!
    Hate to say I traded this in towards a Ruger 10/22 M1 Replica. But, I can't have everything. I've said before, I am 100% self funded so I run out of money, sometimes I have to let stuff go to get different things.

    I have a hi-standard 18-7 and it cycles and ejects federal shorty shells without any issues nor any mods. Did you ever try just loading them without any mods? I’ve shot numerous shorty’s without issues

      I've shot shorty shells out of my flite king and it works 99% of the time. I also have the rubber stop for my mossberg 500 and that works 100% with the mossberg.

    I had same front bead hole issue on an Ithaca, I believe. Check Brownell's, Amazon, Midway carefully- they have a larger screw-size bead (6-48 ?). If you get it and the tap, it allows you to rethread and re-use the original hole without agony. Nice gun. I have a Deluxe Riot and an original Getaway gun, which has specific options. Check my friend's videos on the HS and the Getaway Gun- Jeff Kelley: ruclips.net/video/Y2zHbOXwEnw/видео.html

    At 8:05 in your video a live shot shell drops out of the receiver. Check the 2 "Cartridge Stops". Left and Right. Better yet ask your gunsmith to check your weapon before you bet your life on it functioning in an emergency.

    Come on dude why you wasting time with whimpy low brass loads? Be a man and put 00 buck like McQueen did and what that gun was designed for.

    • @crankygunreviews
      @crankygunreviews  2 года назад

      Contrary to popular belief, the height of the brass does not determine the charge of the load. It is more a carryover from the old days of paper shells when you needed the extra brass to keep the shell from being destroyed with hotter charges. These days even a lot of hot loads are low or mid brass. And this was an old gun, I didn’t want to jam the hottest loads I had in it the first time out.
