I've been looking at this sound system and the sonos arc sound system ( 1 sub and 2 one sl speakers). Currently the samsung q950a is at $1039 on ebay brand new and 1297 on B & h photo. Sonos Arc is around $2050 for everything. It looks like a nice buy for the samsung at its price point
I've had this for 3 weeks now, got it at USD 950 in my country. Buy it guys without hesitation, this will blow you away. With music listening, set the Sound mode to standard and you have access to 7 band EQ which is enough for most users. What I don't like 1)No full adjustment inside the Smart Things app, Samsung should update this in the future 2) No Google Chromecast support yet Airplay 2 is supported. What a bummer. So I have to cast to the Android TV via HDMI arc to the Soundbar.
@@novousuarionaoidentificado Music listening is satisfying, loud enough to be heard over the whole house 1300sqft, fidelity is good as well. I use Apple Music exclusively

Great review tho and I may end up getting this since I’ve seen it discounted for a pretty large amount.
Yep My thoughts exactly. My 9.2.4 is fantastic but Nakamichi needs new design to improve the front soundstage. There is no tweeter in the LCR. Only in the "side effects" speakers which are outside your seating(listening) area. So some clarity and details have low presence. The subs and surrounds is where the Nak shines.
@@edg9697 I’ll upgrade as soon as Nakimachi has a better sound bar system. Just watched Godzilla vs King Kong and wow! Waiting for wireless rears to on the next system.
@@flow685 I'm good with the subs to surrounds wired connection cause running wires thru stands to under carpet. Power cords i consider still wired because would be exposed in my set up. I was able to listen to the 950a and the sound from the bar alone, the Nak can't touch. But the 950a sub doesn't even compare to the Nak, plus the 4 surrounds. Bought zilla vs kong on 4k physical and can't wait to watch. Was disappointed in HBOMax stream of it audio wise.

@@SoraxCloud22 lol “do some research” bro I OWNED a Sonos Arc system. It’s atmos quality doesn’t compare whatsoever to a Q950A or even a Q90R for that matter.
I like the details in your review. I was interested in buying this soundbar but then I got an offer for Philips Fidelio B97. It would be interesting to hear your review of the Philips Fidelio B97 to make a good comparison.
I bought the Samsung 990B soundbar because of the good reviews. This is my first surround soundbar but the surround is stunning and very balanced. Beautiful bass, clear voices and sparkling background sounds. I do have the impression that the soundbar should be used with a (recent) Samsung TV. I am thinking, for example, of some extra functionalities (Wifi, QSymphony) that come with the Soundbar. The supplied manuals are rather concise, it is better to consult the online manuals for a detailed explanation. It is not suitable for use with my TV (Sony Bravia KDL 42WXXXX ). I run into too many latency issues with the sound for that. As long as everything runs via the ARC-eARC HDMI cable, everything seems to run nicely synchronously. Every time I try to play with my Telenet digicorder via the HDMI port (in) of the TV or the soundbar, sync problems arise with the sound. Especially when fast forwarding Telenet recordings or skipping from watching TV to recordings. The problem can then only be solved by deactivating/reactivating HDMI ports.
First time switching from soundbar from my old sony $300 5.1 sound system. Really impressed me in terms of bass, subwoofer, surround and height sound, but cannot impress me in terms of treble. For me, the sound of gunshot, thunder and shattering glasses sounded a little bit mumbled and not crisp enough. AND for me, this soundbar sometimes randomly turned off by itself after around 2-3 hours operating (it's like in eco mode where turned off by itself, but I cannot find any menu to adjust this setting).
I would jump on this in a heartbeat. My problem is, I will only use my subs! Not being a snob, but I run dual Krell subs in our home theater set up. Why, Samsung and so many other manufacturers will not put an rca out on the bar, baffles me. Yes, most folks don't have a... dedicated listening /viewing room.
Fantastic review really appreciated and I strongly agree to the dislikes just undecided if I should spend the $$$ for a product that has some serious flaws. Update I just got approved thru Samsung financing for my Q950A Soundbar can't wait for it to arrive late September. Your cats are awesome.
Based on that subwoofer alone I will hold out for the Klipch cinema 1200 watt system with 12 inch down firing sub woofer with the option of adding a second powered sub to the bar. Plus only $1599. Should be out this month. Klipch just update their Web page on the 1200 a few days ago.

Next year its 20 channels, 30 channels in two years lol. Throwback to the “watts” race of 10 years ago. To comment on qsymphony, had the q950t and 950t bar with QS. The bar did well but the tv speakers were so bad in comparison that it was distracting. When objects pan from the bar to the tv it sounds completely different and starts distorting. I can’t recommend using it with anything lower than the flagship model. Those speakers are not great but anything below is garbage, especially if they are downfiring only like q80a or below
I want to know the way of thinking of all these big companies when they decide on sticking cheap looking cloths on their premium products...First review of you that I watch, I like it! It is between this soundbar and the Sony ht 7000. Going to see if you have a review on the Sony as well.
Bass important to me. It’s what completes a sound system and gets you immersed in the film. I hated the inconsistency with the 950t, and now you say the 950a is the same issue. I went sonos route - the bass and sound profile is nice.
I own a Samsung TV 2020, Samsung Galaxy 21+ Ultra so it would make sense to get this system until you said music doesn't sound so good on it. You see for me music is everything. So I was pretty bummed to hear this. I'm still thinking whether to get this or Sonos. Money wise I would go for this but I also know with Sonos you can built to it yet it will cost much more. WHAT TO DO? lol
I'm thoroughly underwhelmed by the q950a. I was building a new home theater, with a 85 q90a, and I was looking for options for sound. I have a Sony a80j and a pair of Key q350s driven by a 20 year old receiver(total cost $600. I was every excited to get the q950a and audition it but every time I played a movie, the sounder just doesn't have the meatiness to the sound that a proper speaker can provide and it was tangible. I do feel a better subwoofer might have made a difference. But if a 2.0 speaker setup can sound convincingly better tonally than a ~$1500 soundbar, I really am skeptical how it can stand up to a proper 5.1 layout. The Atmos effect was minimal at best. I feel the small up-firing drivers are not powerful enough for most rooms, and mine was a 8ft ceiling. I would really recommend to get a a miss range 5.1 setup for the price.
Q950A is amazing make sure you are plugged into an eARC connection connect the media player directly to the sound bar make sure when you watch a movie you are using a good quality dedicated 4K blue ray player and not a home console blue ray player this = a home theater set up trust me I have both and this is better than my home theater setup. And make sure you use a good quality hdmi cable 2.1 for the eARC

Thank you for mentioning A.L.E.X.A. you are a legend
After one year how do you feel about the music listening experience?
@@novousuarionaoidentificado Music listening is satisfying, loud enough to be heard over the whole house 1300sqft, fidelity is good as well. I use Apple Music exclusively
Yeah... it's undeniable that Samsung soundbar performs is top notch. I even use it with my LG C2. May upgrade my living room TV to a S95 to get Q Symphony living room epicness!
This was the review I needed to hear since I'm considering the HW-Q950A, HW-Q950T and a few other soundbar systems. Thanks!!
Which is better???i have q950t. Is maybe same?
Love how your cat absolutely trolled you after complaining about them being attracted to it by hopping on your entertainment system and shedding more fur all over it 🤣
Sorry, just couldn’t help laughing! Great review tho and I may end up getting this since I’ve seen it discounted for a pretty large amount.
Another fantastic review!!! Hoping the Nakimachi brand ups there game with a better soundbar. Loving my 9.2.4 and the kick the two subs have!!
Thanks for review. I think I will get it for my small home theater as it is quite cheap here around $660
been waiting for this
I just watched your review of the 950T and later find out there is a newer version the 950A. I hoped you did a video on this one too and I was lucky. Good job man 👍🏼
Loving the channel, please review the new LG system too if you get your hands on it :)
It produce very good sound,I bought it around 950 dollar 💰, quality product
clear yes..the sound bar cracked up up a little causes ear fatigue..they have improved yes ..more suited for people that are not overly fussy with sound quality
Good review. I will still stick with my Sonos Arc system. I haven't been disappointed yet.
Yup Sonos Arc has the best sound and the subwoofer is the best in class
@@SoraxCloud22 definitely false
@@jayroman3384 Nope just do some researches please Sonos has the Clearest sound and we don’t Even need to talk about subwoofers
@@SoraxCloud22 lol “do some research” bro I OWNED a Sonos Arc system. It’s atmos quality doesn’t compare whatsoever to a Q950A or even a Q90R for that matter.
@@jayroman3384 You’re so funny the Atmos On my Sonos Arc is much better compared to my brothers Q90R and yes do some researches
Love your objective reviews. Keep up the good work. Would also love to see q950a vs LG sp11ra comparison
If I can ever get my hands on the LG SP11RA haha. I appreciate the kind words!
Such an really review. Thank you
Can you speak about how the Atmos compares to Sonos?
Not even comparison. Samsung is way too bright.
Sonos does not support Atmos.
@@vinhphan86 yes it does. The ARC supports Dolby Atmos.
Also against the Bose 700 combo? Number of reviews are saying for music the Bose is the better pick? I love music as much as movies...
Best Number 1 LG atmos LG DSN8YG / LG DSN9YG 2020/2021 ?
Hey Jonah I just got this 2021 soundbar from my local video store for $949!!
I like the details in your review. I was interested in buying this soundbar but then I got an offer for Philips Fidelio B97. It would be interesting to hear your review of the Philips Fidelio B97 to make a good comparison.
Very good review and explanation Bro
Awesome review as always!!! Thank you!
I would prefer a on screen menu or the app to have all settings on it. Other then that it's bloody good
Please review LG s95qr flagship 2022, I subscribed to your channel. Big fan of your reviews
It didn't work adjusting the treble and volumes? Fiddle around with it a bit.
Will wait to see the klipsch 1200 reviews first since very powerful.
Great review!
I'm amazed that no one is able to do a review 0n the q 990b? Are they just not sending them to you guys?!
Best buy has this with a $300 GC purchase. Think it's the last day sale
Did not know that! That’s a really good deal
@@JonahMatthes checked this morning and its still active. Usually their ad ends on Sunday
I understood perfectly, I have 14 cats so this is one more reason I prefer sonos arc
Yes but the price 😂😂😂
Hate to ask again, but sure everyone is waiting to hear your review of the Samsung q990b. Any closer yet?
Great review~ it is very helpful for me. Thanks a lot😎
Bought this with a 77 lg c1. It's like having your own private movie theater
Really ? I’m waiting so long time to the cinema 1200 ! This system is coming this month ?!!!
Does the cinema series support dts x?
@@Richbroth No, which since I use a massive Blu-ray collection, mostly encounded in DTSx, that is keeping me away from the Cinema 1200. Klipch and Sonos both lack DTSx, which is a massive bummer.
You should do a review of the 990b .. it made some changes that you didn’t like for the 950a ..
I LOVE this review you review how use is good.
Think I'll look into the Sonos range....Music concert blurays are important to me. Though of course movies are too. But music quality more so.
Samsung Q950A pack your bags! the Sony HT-A7000 is comming!
Holy crap, I didn’t think I’d find anyone with the cat claw issue on the cloth wrapping. Our sound bar is covered in cat hair and although mounted, I caught a cat on the sound bar the other day scratching.
Ouchh.. I was browsing through comments to notice user experience since we have 2 cats anf 2 dogs are home.
I hope you make a review about the Samsung Q800A as well
Jonah mate, the Q900a is going for 500 quid whilst the 800a is going for £350 (Sammy is offering cashback on both) . Which one would you go for mate, help?????? Cheers mate!
Those speakers are not great but anything below is garbage, especially if they are downfiring only like q80a or below
what tv you were using?

Which is better soundbar sony ht st 5000 and this soundbar please reply
I want to know the way of thinking of all these big companies when they decide on sticking cheap looking cloths on their premium products...First review of you that I watch, I like it! It is between this soundbar and the Sony ht 7000. Going to see if you have a review on the Sony as well.
What is the best soundbar for cathedral ceilings???
Great video!
I had no idea, I could plug in HDMI components into my tv using ARC and eARC. This information is very helpful.
Which is better good bass Dolby Atmos JBL 9.1 or Samsung q950a please replay sir
I love it when your cats make an appearance!!!🥰
Sonos Arc with one sub vs Q950A - which is better?
Samsung
Samsung
Hey Veeash. I'm currently making a video on the Arc VS Q950A. Are there some specific things you are wanting to know about each system?
Curious has Samsung updated thier app software for the cons you stated? Or should I just go with the Sanos? Or is there a better Soundbar out now?
I really want to pair this soundbar with my 75 inch Sony X950H. I just don’t know how well it will behave as it is $1600.
Bass important to me. It’s what completes a sound system and gets you immersed in the film. I hated the inconsistency with the 950t, and now you say the 950a is the same issue. I went sonos route - the bass and sound profile is nice.
Q950A, Q930B or Q800C+SWA9500s ? Without price aspect
WHAT TO DO? lol
I don't know maybe you're doing something wrong cause the base on minds is insane
I would really recommend to get a a miss range 5.1 setup for the price.
lmao obviously a proper setup is better you tool
Q950A is amazing make sure you are plugged into an eARC connection connect the media player directly to the sound bar make sure when you watch a movie you are using a good quality dedicated 4K blue ray player and not a home console blue ray player this = a home theater set up trust me I have both and this is better than my home theater setup. And make sure you use a good quality hdmi cable 2.1 for the eARC
What is the difference between the HW-Q910A and the HW-Q950A?
What is everyone’s thoughts? Auto eq on or off? I’m about to try it to see if there’s a difference.
hi. great review. compared to sonos full system what is better surround sound system and sound quality?
Can you suggest what speaker stands I can use for these massive surround speakers?
This system is in first place but I'm doubtful if the bass isn't strong. I love strong base with movies and music.
Did you buy? Because I have same concern as you
@@davidselva2035 I didn't. It went up almost $600. Waiting for it to go back down.
@@DonCastro. thanks
@@DonCastro. I bought JBL 9.1 it’s awesome ,bass too good , atom’s experience phenomenal
Great Review ! If I connect a 4K player to it, will it pass Dolby Vision to the TV ?
Yes it will work.
Hello, I finally got my Q950a set up with my Samsung QN85a! When I go to Netflix and play A Dolby Atmos movie I don’t see Dolby Atmos on the LCD screen. Does that mean Atmos is not working? There is surroundsound and all speaker are working but not sure if atoms is. It just say eARC
I wouldn’t get that just because of the fabric covering the speakers. Really good system otherwise
Good review..
I got Samsung Q90 (2019) tv with HDMI Arc pot do you think samsung Q950A
Q950T will do the job.
I can think of a simple hack for the display, a simple 45 degree angled mirror reflection should suffice to give you the readouts
assuming the reflection is readable... wouldn't it then be a mirror image which would still be difficult to read?
Except the words would be inverted and upside down, when reading via a 45 degree mirror
@@JDDD33 you're right. Now I've just got my Q950A unit, now I need to get myself a pentaprism to make it work, basically, it does this images.app.goo.gl/45gEFKaJhFf5T7pv5
I could not hear what you said every time the cat passed by, he is so cuteee :). BTW, I planned to try this new Q950A, but still obsessed by your comment in the other video: "the traditional HT system with the same price (I'm talking 1.5k to 2k range) will blow these soundbars out of the water". Is that still apply for the Q950A on some level ?
Why you cut the cat jump at 12:30 ? :) put it at the end of the video like "Director's cAt" :)
Thank you for your review. I agree with you on all things you said.
BTW, I have just bought (1 week) this system in Italy for 980 dollars: a great deal in my opinion.
Do you have any suggestion for a best setup? are you going to make a video for it?
Jonah, what new soundbars comparable to the Q950A are you looking forward to reviewing in the future?
Really looking forward to the Klipsch Cinema 1200 (if they ever release it) and the LG SP11RA. I hope LG did some adjusting because the previous LG SN11RG wasn’t super impressive imo.
Will Apple TV 4K works with this system, and play Dolby atmos??
