I paid $750 for my install in May 2015. My hair was 6-8 inches and I ended up with about 420 locks. I saw my consultant every 5 weeks for one year and then I took the retie class and never looked back. So for 5 years now I haven’t spent anything much. Just shampoo here and there and I’m not picky on the brand anymore. Locking my hair was the best decision ever!!!

Hi Amber, pricing definitely turned me away for about 8 years!!! I was afraid to drop the coins because I understood it was an investment and commitment! That i just wasnt ready for. I took the leap July 2020 and i have absolutely NO regrets!!!! Im in love with them!!!! Its worth every cent !! Thanks for creating this price break down.

You are welcome and I appreciate your comment. These locs certainly are a commitment that I feel I made at the right time in my life as well. 😊 Although they have a set retie time, I really feel like they are true hair freedom! Take the bonnet off, shake, and go!..😂

    Hi ladies,
My initial install was June of 2021. It took 3 days and I started with 13 inches of hair. I paid $1700 for the install and $125 for reties every 4 weeks. I must say that I absolutely love 💕 my sister locs 😍😍… no regrets here. My hair is soft and I do live in a metropolitan area which may have factored into the price.

I'm contemplating cutting my hair just to make the initial price cheaper. Rn my hair (when straightened) is a few inches below my collarbone. Some parts of my hair is longer(such as the back) and some are shorter(parts of the front)
I spoke with the loctician and since my hair is both "long" and very thick, it would cost me a pretty penny to do sisterlocs. But the installation price isn't my main gripe, it's the maintenance price.
How much would it cost to maintain my hair while it's short and how much would it take as it begins to grow?
If the price point is out of my budget then I might just go with microlocs.

That's not bad at all. I have micro-locs so mine were cheaper, but the overall cost analysis is great. You made a valid point, that is a one time fee of $925. No flat irons, no hair products (other than shampoo), no combs, and detangling brushes.) It is a get up and go process. They are beautiful. Welcome to the loc'd family.

Oh, and I’m LOVING my Sisterlocks!!!!! I spend so much money on products, tools, wigs.... so, the initial $875 I paid n maintenance fee of $125 is worth it to me!

My establishment was completed June 4-5 so I just got them done. My SC’s base price was $1200 up to 6 inches and $150 and inch after that. She is a certified SC and a brand ambassador. I had 9 inches to start but because I got my ends dusted and was 8 inches in some places, she only charged me for 8 inches. I absolutely loved my locs when I got up from her chair. She did an amazing job plus she made the whole experience wonderful. We had fun! It took her two sessions to complete mine. I don’t have high density hair so it was the inches and her base price which is why it cost more for me. I feel that it was money well spent and I look at it as an investment in myself. My reties will be $125. The overall experience was just amazing! I had researched for two years and took my time looking for the right consultant for me.

My cost of my install was less but the cost my reties are about the same. I go to a trainee so that of course affects the pricing. I agree this is a darn good investment. The feeling of always ready hair was worth it for me. I can remember spending so much money as a loose natural on products, styling tools, and protective styles. So many hours and so much money invested. But now I have that time and some money back. Not one regret here.

I don't disclose because it could vary from person to person based on length and the time it takes. However, you can always give them a starting point!!
When I told my parents my mom understood and with my dad I had to break it down. I feel with some people when you tell them what you spent for installation they don't take into consideration the time and toll it takes on a person to stand and do that work and make sure they are taking care of us!
