demoncleaner80 tambura refers to several stringed musical instruments, so you are right on the actual name. all depends on location, and india it is the tanpura.

I really wish American musicians were more like this. The level of creativity I see from European musicians is just so unmatched. Awesome song!
The problem with the american industry is that all bands are hostages of themselves... It is a matter of mentality. All these "great" european artists started doing their music and if you liked, good for you, was a very personal thing. On the other hand, the united states was in a state of "trends" after "trends" that every band joined and once they got a hold of it, they never left it. That is why USA bands are totally stuck up in their own style..

Loved the track. I have been waiting anxiously for the album. And I must confess that Arjen's face during the sitar solo made me laugh out loud, he's like "Dude, I'm rocking out with a sitar, how good life can get?", that's priceless!

Sounded like western song of course. But you are right there's a little mixing with middle eastern looks especially the clothes but rest was all indian , the architecture , the instruments spices incense and other exotic stuff all are very Indian.
Not even sure what the hell this is.. But I've got to admit, it's pretty cool.

Но чуть потяжелее у них выходит. И вокал мужской. Нужно будет поискать. Давно очень слушала.

This song makes me think of Orphaned Land for some reason, the middle eastern tinge, I guess. Anyway, always wanted to see Kobi on one of Arjen's projects.

Fantastic job, as could be expected. Arjen and Anneke are absolutely incredible separated but together form something unbeatable. Video excellent, with great ambiance and creates that feeling if want to be living in the history of the album. Congratulations! (ah, I don't like to mention my favorites early, but The Storm, in both versions, has been the song that I hear more - and deserves a lyric video haha). Great release! Cheers!!

This song is catchy and wicked beyond belief. Leave it to Arjen. Have always loved how he constantly evolves but also adds it layers of ethnic instruments. A composer of the highest order.

Hi Arjen and Anneke. This album is a dream come true! Ive been a huge fan of Anneke's singing every since I stumbled across her duet with Within Temptation. Ive been listening to Arjen since The Human Equation came out, and Ive been enjoying every subsequent album more and more. You are really honing your songwriting, everything Ive heard from this album is excellent. #applause But if I may be so bold as to say, I think Shores of India could have rocked even harder if the verse's rhythm was in double time. Just a hunch! :D
***** In the end it wasnt a matter of fast or slow actually. Just more... oomph, for the lack of a better word. The problem is, In the meantime Ive heard the album version. And now I have to eat my words haha! Its has OOMPH, those few bars here and there where the drums and guitar ad more texture. Absolutely spot on! Same with Endless Sea (Storm). The way it builds over time. These "radio" versions, as awesome as they are, didnt showcase the songs' full scope, as ive come to realize now. Thanks for a great album!
Oh, and "The Moment" might be my favorite song on the album. The way Anneke hits those notes make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! I can't imagine anyone else sing it.

To all the people who think it is more middle east than India, It Is India, as someone from india I can confirm this although song is nothing like an Indian song and no indian instruments are used in it. Visuals are definately from india.
