NES emulators can do netplay for many years now. But I encourage everyone to try Parsec. It is a solution to play netplay on emulators without hassle or lag (IDK if it supports "rollback"). I'm fairly sure it even works on games that aren't emulated.
I would actually hold neighnborhood tournaments for this game when I was kid. Russia and India were the top two teams. Wish they'd make a remastered version.
I use to love to play this game back in the 90's, I remember my brothers and I only had the old T.V with clunk knobs on them and the bunny ears antenna where the screen was quite blurry for us to see the game well. But we make it work for us.
Yeah Randy's jump super is good, if you throw it from the back of the court you can get the ball back with the opponent running back to his side of the court and hit him with another super in the back....timing is critical but its brutal.
Bon Mot i prefer Boris has a powerful throw than any national dodgeball player, i use Soviet Union in versus mode and got 28 hit points when i use Boris super throw
+John the Phantom --- I Hate Google+. I remember when I was a kid,I loved so much the russian team song.I kept the ball and I did not touch the controllers,I was listening only the music.I also loved the final mirror team song.
Rajiv, the captain of Team India looks like Aboboy, Abobo's son in "Abobo's Big Adventure". Rajiv and Team India were the strongest opponents in this game, so I can see where the makers behind ABA got Abobo's son from.
Vahan Nisanian hahaha yeah Rajiv it's strong but his teammates Swami is the strongest player in super dodgeball, when he got hit by enemies his points decreased by 1 for normal throw and 2 for super throw
This isn’t a Nintendo IP, this is part of the Japanese Kunio-kun series along with Crash N The Boys and River City Ransom and a bunch of games that never came out in the west. The IP is owned by Arc System Works these days. Arc System Works just released a Kunio-kun collection for Switch recently though.
"If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball." That doesn't mean shyt when a super dodge ball is coming at you what sounds like the speed of freakin' light.
This game cracked me up and still does to this day. Just being able to send the other guy flying by smacking him in the face with the ball and seeing them go up to Heaven as an angel...man I had some serious laughs back when I played this lol 0:32 Also the opening theme to each stage of Renegade.
Actually the best special move is "John" of Japan. You'd have to throw at an angle (top right or top left, depending where you're facing). His special move is where the ball travels in a corkscrew motion that covers nearly the entire side of the opponent's court. Pretty cool.
Meat Missile I would use John instead of Randy because of John's resilience, even though Randy's Super Shot throws the enemy around the world, it doesn't strike me as useful. But since I like more to use the default team, well...
I absolutely love the backgrounds and how well it represents each country, man that’s a great game. I wish my 2 or 3 favorite video stores had it when I was a kid, sadly this game was super rare here in Québec city. 😔✌
I use to play this game all the time. I would use Bill and run back towards my backline jump and throw. His ball would go straight up and disappear off screen. Something the uploader didn't do at all.
not sure if openbor would be the correct platform but why is there not yet a super dodgeball engine?? swappable skins/courts/music from every gen, every special move (including updated nes), buttery smooth full/speed customizing, no flicker. if they released this i can die happy
The series primarily was released in Japan though. It had a super famicom entry for dodgeball and had a neo geo entry for dodgeball. Plus they did various other kinds of events, beat em ups, fighters, etc.
I played this when I was 13ish. My cousin taught me how and was really smug about how much better he was at it. Until I got good. Then I frustrated the SHIT out of him because he could NEVER beat me. EVER. It was so awesome. I love this game.
These games always get me to laugh, especially this one, because when you hit your opponent for maximum damage and they go off screen and come back in on the other side, I always go "DAYUM...YOU HIT HIM SO HARD, YOU SENT HIM FLYING AROUND THE WORLD BEFORE HE LANDED"...
One of the best games ever and so satisfying to beat over and over. I still love and play this game and have since it originally came out on the NES!!!
The Japanese version had Kunio's team go up against Team USA, followed by a match between a mirror version of Kunio's team. In that version, Japan saved the world from nuclear holocaust from the USA.
There is a 2-player mode where all the teams are available for playing, but the main campaign is US only. You could play as a Japanese team if you play the Japanese version of the game, but the stats and skills for your team and the opponents are the same as the US version, in terms of the what your team has and the stats of the opponents in the order you face them. In the Japanese version, the first match is Nekketsu High School vs. Hanazono High School, while Russia is in the position that Japan has in the US version, and the finals is Japan vs. USA.
One of my favorite games of all time. Favorite map: Kenya Favorite music: Russia The guy playing this is really good. I remember being that good when I use to play it a lot. Did he do an "around the world" shot, I didn't watch the whole thing? I remember some throws being like "holy crap did you see that?" lol. Awesome game.
6:30 Holy crap, I was just playing this game and I noticed for the first time ever that the match against England, the music is totally a loose cover of The Beatles "A Hard Days Night" ....at least in my opinion.
Same series in Japan, but they Americanized all the entries outside of Japan and we failed to get a lot of them. It’s the Kunio-kun series. Crash N The Boys was also part of the series.
This game honestly has some of the best NES ever created. You can't argue that
yeah right... i agree
This game needs to go online so we can all play against each other it would be so fun and competitive, we used to play this game for hours.
+ATXMEX Vato And the Neo Geo one *really* needs to be released for another system that isn't that. :\
@Adrian update: it comes out on October 10th :)
NES emulators can do netplay for many years now.
But I encourage everyone to try Parsec. It is a solution to play netplay on emulators without hassle or lag (IDK if it supports "rollback"). I'm fairly sure it even works on games that aren't emulated.
I usually hate sports games but I played the hell out of this as a kid
childofthe80s1981 me too!!!!
childofthe80s1981 absolutely!!!
I really wouldn’t call any entry in the kunio-kun series a sports game. The sports take a back seat to the combat.
I love the russian team song and the the evil mirror team song. The soundtracks for this game are awesome!
The Russian song is called Kaytusha. It's a popular Russian WWII song. Check it out.
I would actually hold neighnborhood tournaments for this game when I was kid. Russia and India were the top two teams. Wish they'd make a remastered version.
Sam's jump-toss was my favorite. That angled frisbee thing.... UNSTOPPABLE!
Yep. Doing it with a fade away (running backwards) would fuck my friends up in 2 player.
The was a favorite weekend rental during my childhood 8-bit days.
I use to love to play this game back in the 90's, I remember my brothers and I only had the old T.V with clunk knobs on them and the bunny ears antenna where the screen was quite blurry for us to see the game well. But we make it work for us.
i remember this in the arcade, was such a blast.
I loved it when they FLEW around the world at 12:56 min. .Lmbo
OH MEMORIES....
Yeah Randy's jump super is good, if you throw it from the back of the court you can get the ball back with the opponent running back to his side of the court and hit him with another super in the back....timing is critical but its brutal.
My little brother and I played this game for so very many hours as kids. Many fist fights were caused by this game.
Me and my friends we tried to replicate it in real life

Sam had the best throw.
Bon Mot Sam, Bill and Randy were my,team 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Sam is pretty strong and his Blaster pierce through the enemies, very useful.
Bon Mot i prefer Boris has a powerful throw than any national dodgeball player, i use Soviet Union in versus mode and got 28 hit points when i use Boris super throw
i like bill
@@bannor216 yeah same
No one makes me bleed my own blood.
Love that game and played it all the time in the early 1990s.
I like that England's theme is a combination of "Get Back" and "Nowhere Man" by the Beatles
omg the childhood
keep it forever in your heart! :D
+John the Phantom --- I Hate Google+. I remember when I was a kid,I loved so much the russian team song.I kept the ball and I did not touch the controllers,I was listening only the music.I also loved the final mirror team song.

Rajiv and Team India were the strongest opponents in this game, so I can see where the makers behind ABA got Abobo's son from.
Vahan Nisanian Holy shit, is very true. Glad to see Aboboy in a real NES game
Vahan Nisanian hahaha yeah Rajiv it's strong but his teammates Swami is the strongest player in super dodgeball, when he got hit by enemies his points decreased by 1 for normal throw and 2 for super throw
They weren't that difficult.
The real deal was their resistance.
They can easily revive this in the modern era with a "Super Mario Dodgeball" release.
Sam was OP. Hit multiple opponents and retain control of the ball? Yes please.
I used to play this at my friend's house a lot!
"If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball." That doesn't mean shyt when a super dodge ball is coming at you what sounds like the speed of freakin' light.
One of the best games for NES. Definitely the best sports game.
LOVED this game.
my favorite game...
River City Ransom with dodgeballs.
This game cracked me up and still does to this day. Just being able to send the other guy flying by smacking him in the face with the ball and seeing them go up to Heaven as an angel...man I had some serious laughs back when I played this lol
0:32 Also the opening theme to each stage of Renegade.
This game was HILARIOUS
For pc
The Double Dragon 2 sound effects are awesome in this game!
The AI of this game is the most hilarious that i ever seen in a videogame
@FalconX93
Ever heard about Kaillera? It allows you to play multiplayer ganes over the web.
I was half-expecting the players to say "Barf!" when hit buy the ball, lol.
I must have rented this game a million times when I was a kid.
In the top 5 most addictive games from the 90’s for me!!!!
hahah, the throw at 7:02 always made me laugh so much playing this as a kid.
Actually the best special move is "John" of Japan. You'd have to throw at an angle (top right or top left, depending where you're facing). His special move is where the ball travels in a corkscrew motion that covers nearly the entire side of the opponent's court. Pretty cool.
Sam Randy and Bill, the same 3 I always used! :)
I loved this game growing up! A remake online would be awesome!
The faces they make when get hit are hilarious.
I LOVED THIS GAME SO MUCH!
This game i love!!
I want play again :c
I use to play this game all the time. I would use Bill and run back towards my backline jump and throw. His ball would go straight up and disappear off screen. Something the uploader didn't do at all.
YES. Me, too - me and my friend played the shit out of this game back in the day.
I was super addicted to this when I was a kid.
Same
This was one of the best games ever.
played this game all the time as a kid
why does it look like Nintendo World Cup ?
They are.
But it's mainly on hand held consoles now.
~JagOfTroy
I am suprised both teams were wearing shorts for the Iceland matchup, lol.
I love this game and River City Ransom
Me and my cousins used to say "around the world with Randy!" Haha good times
Super Dodge Ball should be remake for mobile version so we can play online world wide
Love this game.
Played this for hours on end as kid. I liked the World Tournament style play. I always played as the USA🇺🇸
not sure if openbor would be the correct platform but why is there not yet a super dodgeball engine?? swappable skins/courts/music from every gen, every special move (including updated nes), buttery smooth full/speed customizing, no flicker. if they released this i can die happy
This game was a masterpiece. Such a shame it never got a sequel. It should have been a franchise.
What are talking about?
There were a few sequels for several game systems.
The series primarily was released in Japan though. It had a super famicom entry for dodgeball and had a neo geo entry for dodgeball. Plus they did various other kinds of events, beat em ups, fighters, etc.
What hes doing in 28 minutes took me months to beat.
i have this game but i have a hard time doing super or power shots! pls help me! how you do that??
I played this when I was 13ish. My cousin taught me how and was really smug about how much better he was at it. Until I got good. Then I frustrated the SHIT out of him because he could NEVER beat me. EVER. It was so awesome. I love this game.
bring back games like this and i'll buy a switch in a heart beat
I used play this game for hours as a child
These games always get me to laugh, especially this one, because when you hit your opponent for maximum damage and they go off screen and come back in on the other side, I always go "DAYUM...YOU HIT HIM SO HARD, YOU SENT HIM FLYING AROUND THE WORLD BEFORE HE LANDED"...
Este wey los perdona mucho yo a los 13 años hacía pedazos a todos los equipos ya tengo 27 años y aún así me emociono al ver el juego
Such an amazing game! :)
This game very fun
ok, once you started playing the actual game, you got better, props guy!
Apparently a sequel came out on Neo Geo?
Piccolo: DOOOOOOOODGGGGGEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Used the same players I did. Randy's jump attack was the best😆
One of the best games ever and so satisfying to beat over and over. I still love and play this game and have since it originally came out on the NES!!!
Love how they come from the left side when they get thrown hard lmao
The sound of the impacts -- getting hit must really really really hurt.
Super Dodge ball is north American release in November 1987.
Snow Pea vs Gatling Pea
Repeater vs Snow Pea
Peashooter vs Repeater
Nice job man!.love this game! One of my first games to come along with the NES back when she was new,,,,,,God I miss it!
oh how i love that nes music....memories
USSR has the Katyusha theme, I've never noticed that before 😅
I love the GBA version
The Japanese version had Kunio's team go up against Team USA, followed by a match between a mirror version of Kunio's team. In that version, Japan saved the world from nuclear holocaust from the USA.
goat of nintendo,, gives me adrenaline
Had it. Loved it
Dodgeball should be placed in the olympics.... LOL
Only USA but it's still worth it its one of the best games ever made its so fun, get it on wifi u or news even on iphone
Greatest game ever!!!
this game needs a remake
Actually, this game does have a DS remake.
the sequels and remakes all suck they need to release an engine with everything
definately in my top five favorite games for the nes. would be cool if they brought it back, keep it somewhat the same but with new graphics of course
Really wish they would release a new high def edition on the ps4
When you get hit by the ball so hard that you fly around the Earth. Seems realistic.
This game was SIIIICK
Can you chose which country you want to play as or do you always have to play as the US?
There is a 2-player mode where all the teams are available for playing, but the main campaign is US only. You could play as a Japanese team if you play the Japanese version of the game, but the stats and skills for your team and the opponents are the same as the US version, in terms of the what your team has and the stats of the opponents in the order you face them. In the Japanese version, the first match is Nekketsu High School vs. Hanazono High School, while Russia is in the position that Japan has in the US version, and the finals is Japan vs. USA.
I'm so emotional
One of my favorite games of all time.
Favorite map: Kenya
Favorite music: Russia
The guy playing this is really good. I remember being that good when I use to play it a lot. Did he do an "around the world" shot, I didn't watch the whole thing? I remember some throws being like "holy crap did you see that?" lol. Awesome game.
There were a couple. Hans being on the receiving end of Randy's Compressor Shot, for an example.
6:30 Holy crap, I was just playing this game and I noticed for the first time ever that the match against England, the music is totally a loose cover of The Beatles "A Hard Days Night" ....at least in my opinion.
China and Kenya's themes are hell awesome.
USSR theme?, it's basically katyusha but remixed.
THis game was my childhood comedy lol
Sprites were so similar to NES Double Dragon characters…
9:18 Aboboy? Is that you?
looks like river city ransom.
Same series in Japan, but they Americanized all the entries outside of Japan and we failed to get a lot of them. It’s the Kunio-kun series. Crash N The Boys was also part of the series.
love this game, what does the little numbers mean after you hit/get hit?
never understood it
Hit points/damage. Each character had different strength with regards to regular or power shots
That's my childhood lol, thanks for the upload!
