- Another awesome night at Showtime Dragstrip! Tonight one of the guys got his buddy to come out with a 2020 Jetta GLI Autobahn DSG with a Stage 1+ tune that we wanted to stack against the Genesis as this is a brand new run!
First we do an 8th, where the quick shifting DSG shows its advantage, then we do a roll showing the V8 power advantage!

Really good runs! As far as I remember the GLI STAGE 1 APR+ is 290HP not 370. The numbers u have quoted would be for a stage 2 GLI. The stage one + APR is a warranty friendly version of the tune
Also the GLI only has a 6spd manual and 7spd DSG
I was going to point that out as well! Maybe he means APR stacked with a piggy back?
Thanks man! He has down pipe and intake as well. They quote stage 1+ APR with those mods around 330ish whp which he told me is about 375 crank.
@@martintintin7729 yes it is a 7 speed DSG
@@motortoys9942 The biggest difference between stage 1 and stage 2 APR was the DP then they would add in the stage 2 ecu tune for free. Now if he was stage 2 with the ecu tune he would be making around 320-350HP. You are saying he is stage 1 tune with just the DP and intake, if that is the case i promise you he is not making 370 HP. I have owned multiple GTIS and have driven this GLI about 10000 times. 370HP is costume tune numbers. Even at APR stage 2 is quoted at 350 with 104aki/108ron.
Hell yeah good runs man, i figured out the launch control issue too so next time hes out we should be able to get it a little quicker 👍
Hell ya they were good runs! That'll help with 8th time forsure idk about the rolls if it'll matter. But we need to get more vids of this car running other cars! Thanks to Jason for the feature of his car!
Damn Jetta moves. Good runs dude
Hell ya! That dsg and stage 1 he is making almost 400hp. Lol
Yea I wasn't expecting the GLI to keep up that well. Good run
@@jaguarology6776 stage 1+ apr does ALOT. and that DSG is serious. He got me in the 8th. Just couldn't keep up topside
@@motortoys9942 interesting race for sure.
@@SGTRacing yeah I'm hoping to do more of these with random/wierd match ups.
Lol 4 banger puttin in work.
Hell ya amazing what a turbo and good tune/bolt ons will do!
props to u for being the only 4.6 owner who consistently posts!
Haha thanks bro! Lot more coming! They are very underrated cars!
@@motortoys9942 looking forward to it!
@@motortoys9942 i dont know much about these but how does modding and tuning on these go? i dont see any hand held tuners for these and i dont see much aftermarket, how do you think i should go about getting power out of a stock 4.6?
@@UzbekAlibek yes you are right it isn't the easiest thing. Do you have any mods now? First off, always run 93 and get wider tires if you can. I would recommend KnN drop in filter and remove factory screen. Then, go with good mufflers like flowmaster or magnaflow or borla and then I would do 2nd cats delete only (no O2 sensor to worry about) and also resonator delete. Then do a custom x pipe. That's all that is done to mine. R2C makes a CAI (or you can build one but I didn't since the factory airbox is ram air). There are no handheld tuners but BTR makes an ECU tune you can get but it's like a grand. Those are my best recommendations
@@motortoys9942 Thanks! I appreciate it. I did some research but I don't see much talk about the 4.6 and nitrous i see more 3.8 talk. Do you think this thing would be able to run 50-75 shot of nitrous without issues?
Definitely a good time. Will bring it again. Going to stage 2 soon.
Hell ya bro! Will have to run again! Looks like I'll need a tune haha
Stage 1 APR Plus is 290hp, and the GLI has a 7 speed☺ A regular stage 1 tune is 320hp. Even the Golf R is about 360hp on stage 1, with the bigger IS38 turbo. No idea what he was doing on these rolls...if he jumped so fast from a standing, roll should have been effortless.
Yeah it's a 7 speed. He has some other things done to. And dude I hear u but I'm telling you the 35th Is faster. He does know how to race. Lol only thing he may not have been doing was brake boosting but he was "ready in gear". I just think the Autobahn has better launch control than the 35th. But I also think VW lies about ALL their numbers 😁😂
@@motortoys9942 They are all the same power wise. 35th edition has black rims and adaptive suspension. The guy with the gray one doesn't know how to drive. Give the other driver the gray one, and it will be a different story😂
@@DMCarReviews 😂😂 maybe. But the 35th still trapped 3mph higher and a lower ET than the grey one ever did (with 2 different drivers on the track for the grey one). It's just really odd. I thought like u I didn't believe it till I saw it none of us did but that 35th has something extra 😂
@@motortoys9942 Something is wrong. Possibly heavy wheels. What is the black one trapping? Gray one?
@@DMCarReviews haha dude you are repeating all of our thoughts. You aren't wrong at all it just isn't that way this time. Grey one 82 maybe 83 once and the black one did almost 86
Hey! weird i missed out on this video! my notifications aren't working for any videos i have to literally look for stuff haha.
Strange that happens sometimes. Haha just scroll down bro! 😂
I thought the autobahn didn't come with a dsg, only a 6 speed manual?
Nope they got both. The DSG is a 7 speed
The V8 will perform better at highway speeds vs a 4cyl with turbo. Just how it is.
Exactly. Spot on. But on the low side the GLI has me
V8 power💪
Yessir! Haha 😂
