  • This song is an original composition using the Mandalorian Dialect (Star Wars).
It took me a total of 28 hours to compose, due to the fact that I wrote it in English first, then translated it to Mandoa, and then adjusted the lyrics to fit the music better.
I added in "Vode An" at the last moment, because I just couldn't pass up the opportunity. It fit so well!~
    Star Wars belongs to Disney.
A Buir's A'den (excluding Vode An) was written and sung by me.

Journal of Master Vorndar of the Jedi Order
My journey with these Mandalorians since after the war has been a fascinating time, and my departure back to the Temple on Coruscant grows near. However, I must relate the events of last night as they have left me much to ponder.
In the evening, where the clan Kryze usual holds banquet around a campfire after a day in the hunt, last night fell in an eerie silence. Hardly a whisper could be heard. I knew something was up. The young warrior who had been my translator and guide with them explained to me that tonight we will witness a rare ceremony amongst their people. That of the *Darasuum Gra'tua*.
As the bonfire grew more and more intense, the usually energetic play of tambours began in a rythm that was slow...deliberate...I am ashamed to say even fearsome.
The clan's great forge was brought outside to sit on the south side of the bonfire, who was now, with the stars, the camp's only source of light.
All the mandalorians wore their Beskar'gam, helmet on and stood in circle. I was silently invited to join them in their singing.
The clan's armorer came out of his tent, and all music and whisper went instantly silent.
He walked to their great forge and began melting Beskar.
On the other side, a woman exited one of the tents. She was not wearing her beskar'gam. She was however covered in tribalistic war paint and wore the beskar'gam's undercloth that was form fitting. I could feel the turmoil in her emotions, yet she showed no sign of it.
She was angry. An anger I have never felt before, and I have faced several Sith Lords in duel. But this...This was an anger that made even Malgus's anger pale in comparison.
We stood, singing slowly a chant that felt like a funeral dirge, a song of sorrow.
    A song of death.
The Armorer suddenly stopped hammering. I do not know how long we had been standing, and singing. Minutes. Hours. It was deep in the night now. He walked to her, a glowing white piece of Beskar forged like a pauldron.
I almost let out a gasp when I understood what was about to happen.
The woman, at his approach, stood unflinching, her arms raise parallel to the ground.
It took but a moment. The sizzling of the beskar fusing to her flesh. The smell of burning skin and clothe, set aflame for an instant.
Yet she didn't flinch. Her mind was in atrocious pain. Yet her anger unquenched.
This process repeated. The other pauldron. The breastplate. The armguards. The gauntlets. The legpads. Only when the breastplate was applied did she let out a faint groan, tears of agony rolling down from her eyes.
Yet there, facing the fire, she stood.
    Her anger unquenshed.
Finally, upon her head, a burning white helmet was applied. She did not scream. She did not yield. She did not fainted. The camp fell in silence. Then everyone bowed to her. Not a word was uttered.
The Armorer brought her her weapons. Her jetpack.
Not a word was uttered. In silence, she departed the camp, took one of the ships and flew off. The clan waited for the ship to be away before raising from their bow, and solemnly brought back the forge to its place. The sun's first rays was getting up above the canopy.
I asked my interpret what had happened. *Darasuum Gra'tua*
He said. "Eternal Vengeance" he translated before I could ask.
Remember the Siths the clan fought last month?
    Yes, of course I do. I helped didn't I?
Yes. Well, as the Siths fled, one of them got to the camp before we could come back.
That is when it all dawned on me. The clan had a single child who died during the last Siths assault. A lone sith came in the camp and murdered the child and the clan's servants before fleeing.
This sith had murdered a child. Her child.
Flashes of her anger overtook me for an instant.
She did not flinch in the ritual of fire, for no flame in this Galaxy could quench the wrath of a parent whose child was stolen from them.
The Sith probably thought he got away with a merely grieving mother. What he doesn't realize, is that this is a mandaloriam mother.
I whispered to myself "The Galaxy is not large, nor deep enough for this Sith to hide now"
My young interpret could only nod in silence.
This is a grave crime. So in silence she departed. For no song shall be sung of this treachery. His death shall not be written. His lineage, forgotten. For he faces the wrath of Mandalore. And the unquenchable fire of the vengeance of a mandalorian mother...

It is said that facing the wraith of a Mandalorian parent is to face death itself. Even the most cruel of Sith know better than to target a Mandalorian child.

A translation for those who want it. Some Mando'a words cant be summed up in a single word keep that in mind.
    English:
    The sad parent mourns
    His/Her children’s spilled blood
The bad people wounded his/her angry heart
    Fire lead his/her soul
    Beat the evil
She hunt the much hated person in revenge
    If you scorn the parent
    You will face death
For the parent is more dangerous than the child
    Chant:
All will feel fear, all will feel pain
    All will know Mando’ade hate

As a side note, the Title is A Father's Wrath,
Father can also be translated as mother/parent depending on dialect of the clan but carries the same meaning across the culture

    • @kerchoo8295
      @kerchoo8295 2 года назад +20

Mando'a has no gendered words and mandalorians don't see gender like other cultures do so I believe it's more of a neutral "parent" instead of gendered Mother/Father since the distinction doesn't exist for them.

This feels so much like a Funeral Dirge , not just for the Child taken too soon, but for those who brought harm upon a beloved child, whoever committed the act, their entire lineage is about to become a footnote in galactic history, but for this particular clan, this will be a mournful tale of Hate and Grief Filled Vengeance because...... This Is The Way.
it immediately gave me the idea for this quote below.
*"They have Taken one of ours before they could truly walk their path, For this we will remove their bloodline from this world, no songs will be sung of their resistance, no names of theirs will be remembered, the only evidence of their passing will be Scorched Bone and Rubble" - Haarmek Ordo before the Scorching of a Settlement in the Outer Rim.*

@hereforthebants888 If you think of the ancient Romans as being the earthly analog of the primary people of Coruscant, the analog for the Mandalorians would have included the peoples who lived west of the Ural Mountains and/or North of the Alps during Roman history: the Keltoi, the various tribes of the Goths, the Rus (ancestors of modern Ukrainians and others but *not* of modern Russians), other Scandanavian tribes, etc. To me, it's natural for the epic Mandalorian sound to have a Northern and Eastern European sound because of this analogy. (BTW, I am descended from some of these ancient Europeans.) However, other people hear their ancestors sound in Mandalorian--and that's natural, too. All of us, even the Romans themselves are descendants of proud tribal peoples, if you look back far enough. Also, all of us are the descendants of warriors--or we wouldn't even *be* here to love the Mandalorians!

There's two english words in the lyrics that have Mando'a translations as of writing this:
"Spilled tal" should instead be "tal'galar." Direct literal translation of "spill blood" (tal + galar). Maybe shuffle its place in the sentence a little, although it might work as-is.
    (Tal'galar - Verb, [tahl-GAH-lahr],
    to spill blood, bleed)
"Mourns" should instead be "echoylir." Direct replacement, no alterations needed.
    (Echoylir - Verb, [eh-choy-LEER],
    to grieve, search, mourn)
Other than that, the remaining english words are fillers that don't translate, probably because Mando'a is a lot less flowery and a lot more blunt and information-dense.
It makes sense though. Soldiers don't say, "There's a man 200m in front of us." They say "Man, 200m, front."

Buir means parent. A'den means wrath. So it's a Parents Wrath.

Kaysh means she and he in mando'a. If you put "ven" before a verb it means will for the future form, and for the past you add the word ru before the verb And for spill its galar or tal'galar for spill blood so you could say ru galar or ru tal'galar for spilled. Mourn can be translate in echoylir in mando'a. Sometimes to find the translation you have to search the verb at infinitive form without conjugation and you will find it in mando'a, also for the words use the singular. Like aruetii = stranger and aruetiise = strangers, you juste have to add or remove the -se or the -e it depends on the word like verd = warrior and verde = warriors, so to singular or plural the word you add a -se or a -e. And for the verb you add or remove the -r like epar = eat ni epa = i eat.

      The sad mother mourns
      her children's spilled blood.
The bad people hurt her angry heart.
      Fire leads her soul
      to the evil.
She will hunt the skanah in revenge.
      If you scorn the mother,
      you will face death,
for the mother is more dangerous than the son.
All will feel fear, all will feel pain.
      All will know Mandalorians' hate.
