3 things: 1. super power saving mode will not wake camera up when it detects motion. 2. Camera does not trigger for anything outside a window (due to PIR). 3. I believe its still possible to access the videos on the memory card even if you are away and not on your own network.
Hi there. I double-checked and the way it way the Sleep mode works is if the sensors detect significant changes in light, the camera will switch on. Cheers!
@Jason-od9dx is correct. In Super Power Saving mode, the camera is asleep and can be woken up when using the app for live view, which requires user interaction via the app. It doesn't automatically record motion when in this mode. In (regular) power saving mode, it does detect motion and records a short video clip which can be viewed from the memory card whether you are on the home network or not. You need to set it to Power Saving Mode (not Super Power Saving Mode), or High Performance\Power Plugged In mode if you want motion detection push notifications as well.
Can this be used without any record-lights on, say for hidden security applications (eg inside a shed where you dont want to draw attention that there is a camera running) ? On my old gopro I could configure it to record without the light on as you dont want a red light facing forward into traffic. I'm wondering if similar could be to my advantage to see if anyone has been poking around my shed.
It's been a while since I've used it but I thought I remembered an option. However in the event I'm we re omg you could use some black duct tape to cover the light.
It's an indoor camera and not certified for outdoor use. Having said that the guidelines for safe operation are -10°C to 45°C (14°F to 113 °F ), Humidity 95% or Less (Non-condensing)
im planning to use this to monitor our cats outside our porch, I currently do not know who poops outside the litter box, can it record cats movement? or is it only human movements? ive read somewhere on the comments that you now use this to monitor feral cats but is now plugged in. I do not have a wall outlet at our porch so, I might just use the battery, wil it be able to record cats movement like within a 12 hour period? or can you force it to record like for 12hours without plugging it in? Also im thinking can it be powered off a powerbank? I have a 20,000 mah powerbank, it could be great if i could use it to power this continuously because I do not have access to a wall outlet. Also is the bottom of the base magnetic too?
Yep! You can set it up PIR mode and it'll detect any body heat from an animal or human. However for long recordings you'll want to do what you suggested and use a battery if you can't connect it to a mains power supply. You can't dictate the length of the recording time unfortunately so it sounds like you need to set it to continuous recording as if it was plugged in. You could experiment with High Performance mode that records longer clips though
You can pick up compatible MicroSD cards for relatively good prices. However, they are different classes of card that affect performance. Wyze sell their own Class 3 card on their store for $9 to $30 depending on the capacity: www.wyze.com/products/wyze-128gb-and-32gb-microsdhc-card-class-10?_pos=1&_sid=d56019899&_ss=r
Yep! I've had it running for months now and charged it a couple of times. If you put it on continuous recording you'll need to plug it into a mains supply. It's definitely my favourite indoor home security camera right now.

@@HowToDoItTech thanks. I've ordered one to experiment with. Not keen on using apps and wifi after the last lot got hacked.
Hi would the camera be okay outside in the canada cold weather ?
It's an indoor camera and not certified for outdoor use. Having said that the guidelines for safe operation are -10°C to 45°C (14°F to 113 °F ), Humidity 95% or Less (Non-condensing)

Hi, is there a way to connect this camera to a hikvision nvr?
No sadly, not that I've seen.
Hi great video, are you still using it? How is it holding up?
Yes, I am but it's now a feral cat monitor on a family farm. It's still going strong and still one of the best cameras I've tried.
@@HowToDoItTech Amazing! one last question, whats the battery life like?
It was impressive when first testing but it's currently plugged into the mains so we have constant monitoring (the cats are wiley).
@@HowToDoItTech many thanks
I heard the video can be not downloaded when use with SD card? How much is it

Is it okay to use it for long time or continuous and putting it to charge while away from home?

First! I also have one of these and will be making a video about it shortly. I'm pretty impressed with it so far though.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
