@@DJTXD123 Vin has a bad habit of taking simple, realistic, gritty movies with really good elements like story, character dev, arc etcetera, and turning them into over the garbage where human characters demigods endowed with superhuman strength or intelligence.
I watched this film with a friend of mine in high school. He wasn't quite into horror, mildly into sci-fi and had no leanings toward action films. You might say the boy was sheltered. I got him to watch this film and he strangely liked it. His mother (who was overprotective) even enjoyed the film as well. I recently learned that he died during the pandemic. Covid didn't directly kill him, but it was because of Covid that he died. Side note, 1:55 he paused the movie and thought that Riddick stabbed her in the back. "Jons was right! He is such a liar and a monster! She's trying to help him and he just up and kills her!" Which upon clicking play he laughed and realized that he was wrong. Rip buddy.
sorry about your friend ! I wasn't a big fan of action movies either but the king 👑 right here made me to become one 😂😂😂😂😂vin Diesel is the 👑👌😘love Riddick
Fry is smiling at 2:06 knowing she will die for the passengers and atone for trying to ditch the passenger cabin at the start of the movie. She ultimately goes like a saint, dying to save a lone convict. It is hard not to feel the same as Riddick in that moment, the sense she had done enough and she didn't deserve this death like she believed.
Wow. You said she dies like a saint, and if you look closely when she's taken away from Riddick, she's been crucified "on" the T cross of the Bioraptor's head. She literally is like a sacrifice for the 'sinner'.
I thought this was so well done, these monsters are no joke and he takes down two but also gets injured. Shows us hes part human but all badass , 60% of the time, everytime
Seeing fry die like that was so painful to watch as a kid. Just dragged off into the darkness. You know she’s gunna die but it’s more mysterious and leaves you wondering how she went out or if she did. (We know she did) but it’s just how it felt at the time. It was a cold way to watch someone go out in the final minutes of the movie.
And literally all these events fall on Johns. If he didn’t convince Carolyn to not rush and get the batteries for the ship then they would have left with no deaths (maybe) and Riddick would have stuck to the deal. Maybe he’d kill John’s idk but I do know that they would have left that planet. Riddick is in fact a reasonable man
Shouldve kept the formula like this really. Dont put the strong character in the spotlight all the time and the show isnt exactly about him, he's just chillin, stabbin. Also that part where he burns a few of them as they launch you sort of get the idea of how he got to the slammer and why.
Another fav film who cant dig david twohys pitch black the man and his crew can make a slappn awesome syfy hope to see a new orig film from david twohy HOLD YOUR BREATH Mercs
Anyone know what a name of a tune, that started playing in 3:24 and ended in 3:50. I heard that also in Riddicks game series, but cant find the name. It's so gloomy and badass..
LOL that’s funny n kinda make sense. The themes set pieces and aliens r very similar they either probably didn’t know or just wanted it to garner attention n the only way they could’ve is by mentioning another similar yet memorable movie.
I f I was directing this movie it would of never ended like that. When she came back to save Riddick and then they kill her off? It went from a 9 to a 2 in an instant.Horrible! I never watched it again.
she’s the reason he keeping his humanity, so her sacrifice is like a reason for him to not walk too deep into the darkness, cause now he’s living for that girl live too, not just him anymore
That’s true I never thought of it that way. N if that bioraptor was the only one left or in the vicinity it would’ve finished off Riddick for sure. So her coming to save him was more than likely a necessary sacrifice
The woman was willing to die for the people she was trying to save, but not for Riddick. “Not for me. Not for me!” Hearing him say that in the rainy night, for some reason, just makes me feel sad for Riddick.
@@Aggression-hc3ypShe meant that she said she would die for them, not that Riddick would. Meaning she would sacrifice her self for them, but did not want Riddick to sacrifice himself. A legendary movie, a legendary character, a legendary time.
This series is pretty underrated, It was also confirmed they're making another!
The Riddick movies are garbage, this is the only good one
@@maniac50ae14 Chronicles of Riddick is probably the least good in the franchise, 'Riddick' is the best one

@@maniac50ae14 he is a furyqn though so he kinda does have some powers, in a world of necrons it isn't too hard to believe imo
It is really sad there will be another hollywood disgrace od a sequel to an iconic original
I love the way they designed the Bioraptors. They look very realistic and intimidating.
Oh I didn’t know that thanks for enlightening me, I just didn’t thought of it

Riddick universe is so criminally underrated, who even is responsible not green lighting sequels and spinoffs belongs into jail

Bruh frfr. They could’ve done one or two more movies like this and it would’ve made those other movies better.
When Radha Mitchell's character died, my mother said "That sucks. I was hoping she'd make it." She really liked Pitch Black.
Me to
My older brother was terrified by the Bioraptors as a kid. I on the other hand was afraid of Steven Spielberg's tripods.
This is how you write an empowered badass woman hollywood.
