I cannot imagine the horror one can endure once its gets dark I would have probably advised Riddick and the crew to stay indoors till dawn instead of being a midnight snack for these guys
Not that anyone cares, but I had a friend who's an astronomer look at this. Like all nerdy people of her type, she couldn't let it go. The movie is confusing so she gave two possible answers: 1. If the rock they are on is a planet, the eclipse would last roughly 12 days every 5 1/2 months. 2. If the rock is a moon of the gas giant, it would last 4 months every 3 years. Don't ask me how she got to these numbers. She explained it in far too great detail, but given her job, I'd tend to say she's right.
I know the movie is 23 years old and it's science fiction. But it's funny how our real world solar technology is leagues more advanced than this future tech
In Riddick universe there are many different planets, also civilizations spread far and wide. Would make sense , that some would have better technology than others.

By far the best Riddick movie.
What about 'by close"?
This is like straight out of a nightmare, seeing thousands of those creatures emerging knowing they are most likely starving.
Johns and riddick made this movie 🔥🙌🏾🙌🏾
A planetary ring made out of a carnivorous piranha like swarm is an interesting concept

The thing about it, it would be dark for a entire month so they would either be starved or attacked by the bioraptors
@@NathanCAY1010 actually it’s several months in the film
@@mr.rhenium3167 imagine they lost so much survivors in the space of what, 3 hours?
Well in the movie it says the darkness is forever, so it is what it is hehe
