    I've just ordered one of these Cobra chippers. I nearly cancelled the order because I was told they don't handle 'green' stuff very well, but after seeing your video I think I made the right choice. Thanks for taking the trouble to post your video.

    Remember as soon as you dont see chippings coming out of the chute its on its way blocking up, especially on green leaves, conifer and branches are usually fine but be more aware that green leaves and shrubbery seem to block these chippers if your trying to force it down the hopper. Smaller amounts is more efficient to stop any blockages. Your learn the best way on different types of cuttings the more you use it. Good addition to your gardening equipment.☆☆☆☆

    They’ve got one of these at my local garden machinery dealer, seemed too good to be true for the price. Good to see it in action, have you had much use out of it Mack? I understand it can take up to 3” diameter branches have you had any issues with putting thicker stuff through?

    Which model is this? Thinking about getting one as I do a bit of gardening and get quite a few small tree cut down jobs and they usually take a couple of hours to cut down then many hours to cut up to put in the van to take to the recycling centre, it's such a pain. I'm looking at the 3" chipper which should be more than enough for the work I usually do, which one do you have? Cheers

      I don't know what the model number is but if you just look up cobra petrol chipper you'll find it it can take up to 4 inch everything I put in it's handled very well I would really recommend it

      @@mackthomas8750 yes I was looking at their website, it looks like they do one model, a 3" with either pull or electric start, I think I might get one, I've rented one of those big ones that comes towed behind a van a few times but they've been a bit overkill for what I need but at £150 a day rental it probably makes more sense to buy a smaller one

    I have the same one but it’s blue. First I will say this machine is extremely dangerous if you wanna lose an arm because it sucks anything in once the branch touches the grinding wheel so do not let anybody that you love use that machine, only you use it after feeling comfortable with it. Second the wood chipper is awesome my only question tho is if the branch is too big will it destroy the machine or is there a safety feature to stall it because I feel like there’s no stopping this thing. It swallow anything you can fit into the shoot which can be scary because I don’t wanna blow the damn machine up lol

    • @mackthomas8750
      @mackthomas8750  Год назад

      If something's too big it just stalls but can sometimes block and you can risk damaging the machine but as long as your sensible with what you put through you should be fine

    It looks to be a loncin engine powering the machine, I think the engine is a Chinese clone of the Honda engine, they say the loncin engine can be hard to start when left not In use for a while, but that loncin engine you have is an electric start compared to a pull start, so you should not have that problem.

    • @bobbailey7024

      @@Josh-fk8ml oh most definitely the Briggs vanguard range are bombproof engines and in my opinion on par with the Honda gx series. Briggs have made so many awesome engines sprints, vanguard, quantum, I/C etc etc. what I was trying to put across was that the loncin engines these days are easily on par with Briggs and Honda we never have any trouble with them ! And that Briggs are making some right old shite as well as everyone else, swings and round a-bouts they all make good stuff they all make bad stuff 👍 Stale ethanol fuel will kill any small engine carbs no matter the make

    • @Josh-fk8ml
      @Josh-fk8ml 3 года назад

      @@theautisticarborist6846 Yeah I agree with regards to the stale ethanol I either drain it or run it out on my Honda petrol engine, I never leave it in the petrol tank over the winter, new carburetors can add up if you have to replace them due to stale ethanol.
