      Hey Janet!
I'm sorry I missed your comment before now!
I'm so glad I could save you a little money...I saved it for a set of pencils I'm about to do a video on...I think you will enjoy them WAY more than Blick.
But keep in my, at the end of the day I'm just giving my opinion...I would hate to know I stopped you from getting something you would have enjoyed. So be sure to get another opinion on them. I dont want to kill your coloring fun!!!!
      Thanks for commenting, Janet!!! 🥰

Blick Artists Colored Pencils are manufactured by Koh-I-Noor. I don't mind the Blick colored pencils due to the longevity in which I've owned them, but they aren't the first pencil I normally reach for when I color or draw. My usual go-tos are Prisma, Chromaflow, and Polychromos.

Hey Brandon....Im only just seeing your comment....sorry!
Polychromos are definitely at the top of my list. I recently pulled them back out and I had forgot how fun they were to use

Woah, so surprising for such a pretty looking pencil. I thought they would be better because of Blicks stores too.
But as always your art looks beautiful with it and you wouldn't be able to tell how they laid down unless you used them yourself because the art looks so good.

Yeah I always have that concern...someone saying, "Oh but they look beautiful in the picture you colored!" Haha you can always make lemonade out of lemons...but it doesn't always taste so good haha

Well at least they have color names on them 😂 I got my FC black edition (100 count) a couple weeks ago, and I really do like them but there's no color names on them 😡 just numbers! Who the hell remembers pencils by numbers??? For that reason alone I'm kind of sorry I bought them lol

Haha I want you to know that your comment stuck with me for days...I had to search for where I read it!!! haha But I FOUND YOU!
I tell you what Stacie...if we were color buddies...I would bring you over to the dark side!!!! haha
I am just the opposite. I don't look at the color at all because I organize by number (not names)
But what I'm thinking is that you don't do swatch sheets do you...DO YOU STACIE?!?!?! Go ahead....you can say it...you can break my heart!!!!
We have to fix that now dont we 😘

Agree! I can't get over how Faber-Castell doesn't give color names to their Black Edition, Goldfaber, or Classic sets. It's as if they don't care about any pencil lines other than the Albrecht Durer or the Polychromos. Especially because of the quality of the company. This isn't a fly-by-night Chinese distributor. Surely FC has people whose sole job is to come up with colors and color names. And they have a universal color naming system. So the names exist, the company just couldn't be bothered to put the names on the pencils. And these aren't cheap pencils either by price or quality. Very frustrating. These pencils deserve better (the Black Edition is also hampered by that triangular shape of the barrels. I feel like they'd be so much more popular if they had a round barrel - maybe still a black mat finish and black wood to differentiate them from the Polys and competitors).

There's actually more pencils. It's sort of confusing but there's a stand-alone gray set of 12 pencils. So that would solve your gray problem. And there's a portrait set which includes, I think, it's 6 additional colors that are not in the main set. Mainly light skin tones of reds and pinks. And a landscape set that features an ultramarine blue that is not in any other set. So there's 91 colors (72+19). One can buy the other three sets or you can buy the additional colors open stock at Blick. But it sounds like these pencils weren't your thing so you can just skip them!

I was gifted a sample pack with red, blue and yellow. I also own polychromos and prismas and I really wanted to like the blicks since I shop there so much but my impression of them is just scratchy and the color is ashy 🤣 but I'm coming from a pretty high standard🤷🏾‍♀️

I hear you! Its like once you drive a Rolls Royce...well everything else is just a car haha
But it is always amazing to stumble across those little diamonds in the roughs when using other brands. I thought about you during the last video I created...Its funny how our bar can raise and lower so much with pencils haha

Haha Its so funny, after doing these videos and going back and listening to the way they all sound when going down on paper, I'm starting to see that SO MANY of these sound like this when recording. Im still on the fence, I am not sure if I like the sound or not haha

I was thinking GREAT art store...GREAT pencils! I was wrong. haha
But I guess at the end of the day we can't love them all...there have to be those bad ones to make us really enjoy the ones we love right?!

This product lacks curb appeal. I'm not jazzed by it.
That scratchy sound...yikes! I'm kinda disappointed... you would think something by Blick wouldn't be like this.
    Great coloring as usual!
What Color Swatch book are you using?

ITs so funny you say that...ever since you made that comment about the scratchy sound...Im starting to see that almost all of them make that sound when I am recording them. I think they are just messing with your ears at this point. haha
That little book is "Color Charts" by Yasmeen Eldahan
Hang in there, Im going to try to have some of the ones I created out to yall soon 🥰
