I have a library of over 50 courses at Texas Blues Alley that I've been creating and selling for over 10 years. I also offer memberships for full access and more advanced tools for studying the videos. So while I have put in a ton of time creating free lessons over the past 10 years, I've also been incredibly lucky to have a large enough percentage of paying customers and subscribers to make this my full-time job since 2009. Thank you for asking, not many people think about that.
@@Texasbluesalley Cool man, glad the platform is working. I have just been getting concerned with us (professional musicians) short changing ourselves. As you know, record sells are pretty much tanked and one of the other best ways to make money in music is teaching--and I have seen a sharp layoff over the last few years. I teach privately alot and it concerns me when people give a lifetime of knowledge away for nothing...and most of us did pay for lessons back in the day not to mention the hours of diligent study. But the platform is changing I guess and we need to adapt. Anyways--keep up the good work...I really enjoyed the top 10 doucheist things guitars players do VID...really funny and truthful...ha ha ha...take care bro
Awesome lesson and choice of lick. Hendrix was the most elusive player in MHO. When I look at his music tabs sometimes it doesn't look like it makes any sense, but he made it work. Creative genius. Thanks as always.
Great lesson. Glad it was in standard tuning and not a half step down. I play in standard tuning and I get a little confused when things are played in the lowered tuning. It will take me a little while to get this one right, but it will be worth it. Thanks again.
These were the Signature Set buckers, but in the split position. In that configuration they are essentially super-underwound single coils with a very low impedance, extremely brilliant sounding.
Of course I had the key wrong. The song is in F, not E. If you're in standard tuning, move everything up one fret, if you're in E-flat tuning, move everything up two frets to be in tune with the record.
I use that all the time, double stops in the pentatonic. I was totally wowed by the bend @ b 15, and returning it at g 14 :D! Hendrix was totally awesome
Do you play all the time with the string action set that high? I know SRV played with them high. He also played with huge ass strings. I have heard other players pick his guitar up and they said they couldn't hardly mash them down to the fretboard.
Yeah, the annotation at 1:08 was added because I realized (after I posted the lesson) that the song was supposed to be in F, not E. So I'm playing in E, but if you want to use this lick in the song, you'd have to move it to F.
Brother...do you get paid for this? You put a lot of work into your craft, you shouldn't give it away for free.

Absolutely fantastic lesson. The camera angle is perfect for seeing and quickly recognizing patterns.

You're really fuckin good at picking up not only the notes of each lick but the way to play each note with the style of who's lick it is.

man, i`m lost on words.
I love these lessons.
That's one of my favorite Hendrix techniques.

Loved the blues package u sold a few years ago. It was Freddie king, Jimi, Albert King, and BB

I love the way you talk, mate.
Great lesson. But I’m confused, the song appears to be in F# minor with the guitar 1/2 step down as usual for Hendrix?
Anthony - This is very good stuff, thank you!
Love those pickups!

awesome video, more hendrix lessons please!!!
You the man !
really good video , thanks
Do you mean HHendrix' recording is in F-...because you sound like your playing in E- to me? Help me out brotha? Nice feel you got by the way!

Those words were fine :-)
Most guitarists play notes.Jimi painted sound
Which pickups you used here?
very nice great
Song isn't in F sharp?
I find his playing very hard to nail down in any coherent way.
Always Zexcoil pickups.
high action on that strat
That pickup looks weird also.
It's a humbucker in single coil form. Man, you have jimi's tone and delay spot on for that song. GREAT.
What pickups are you using?
wouldnt it be one fret?
What gauge strings do you use?
but it seems you use a e minor scale ??
I AGREE!!!!!!!
thats a really weird camera angle. im constantly tilting my head
Midnight lightning...crash landing...
Peoples peoples....captain coconut...not nany can do these. His middle name was allen...not madrshall....
Great lesson but, next time eat first and slow down a tad. Your to fast for an old timer.
I did get it all after a few replays. Thanks Anthony
I need a sandwich.
JAMES MARSHALL HENDRIX....really,???
Am I the only on that thinks this camera angle makes it seem a bit unconfortable?
Yes.
