@@LogicLeoyt I don't think I can run Unreal Engine 5 as I think you need 32 gb of ram to run it. So I use Unreal Engine 4. and I can't put too much in my map because my machine can't handle it loses video signal and screen turns black then I have to reboot. I have to buy assets or use free assets because I don't have the 3d modeling skills or the mapping skills with the BSP.... How do we get our 3d model characters to talk audio dialog in the game. (facial animations) because I think it has to be driven by a data table. Basic Dialog conversation I can drive in the widget to display but Dialog tree branching nested within the conversations like what Kotor did is another thing altogether because the mouse button dialog has to be all dynamically driven in the same widget. (that I don't know yet). There are some things I can do in this engine and others I can't. I couldn't find the documentation on how to set up a dialog mouse-driven system using data tables to integrate it in with the basic dialog system that I have. I couldn't even find any documentation on setting up dialog audio skip. Sooo I could not properly set up my game in the engine because half of the documentation seems to be missing. So If you are not doing just third person shooter which is what this engine was designed mainly around, then I think you're gonna run into issues when trying to do storyline driven games..

I think that using Nanite for armor, weapons and props are going to be the thing that will have a big influence on the pipeline workflow. It would save a lot of time only having to retopo, uv and such on only the parts of the character that animates with deformations.

    • @LogicLeoyt
      @LogicLeoyt  3 года назад +7

Definitely. For me, the best part about nanite is that I would have to spend months optimizing the villages in my game (house polycounts, lods, etc) and now I can pretty much make each house a billion polygons and its all good no matter the distance

    • @safak2492

Planning on making my own dystopian Fallout inspired game soon. I’ve made mods before for Fallout but it will be interesting to model my own characters and environment. Looking to make it an ultra survival game and basically taking Fallout NV hardcore survival to the max. It will have the same type of evil corporation responsible for the complete destruction of society and numerous factions at play. Graphically the game would be amazing but I have no clue where to begin writing a story or sourcing voice actors haha.

Lumen is there to support something in the line of Raytracing on console.
Consoles can never do Raytraced GI at a halfdecent framerate, therefor Lumen has come into play; but Lumen is actually much slower than Raytraced GI is on high-end NVIDIA hardware, while also looking worse.
Therefor i have already stated that Unreal Engine is not really a PC-focused Engine, and also just doesn't make sense for the future when all hardware does path tracing rather than software approximations like Lumen.

Hey @sony @playstation here's an idea that would make an instant classic, it would be a Microsoft 3d movie maker like program for game consoles like PS5 Xbox series s/x, but with the unreal engine 5.
With about 350 different built in actors/characters, A vast variety of vehicle models (including thousands of cars, trucks, heavy duty vehicles bikes, which are fully interactive with the environment), and thousand of props, and ability to customize or create characters (take wwe 2k22s CAW suit as a benchmark for the character/actor creation, with thousands of customizable clothing, attire, hair, and customizable body type/ built of the created characters
Thousands of built in locations with thousands of different built in scenes based on different cities, like downtown Chicago, Paris,London, Washington,Dublin, New York, Las Vegas, Miami,Mexico City, Tokyo, Osaka, Hong Kong, Milan, Sydney, or beaches in Los Angeles,Mali, The Caribbean or some Mansions in Bel-Air or Beverly Hills, Ancient Palaces Wall Street, tons of landmarks from around the globe, The Mexican border rain forests, The Flavelas of Brazil, Gran canyons, suburban areas, farms, waterfalls, caves, and natural landmarks, oceans, seas, boats, planes, space, spaceships, & other planets etc, with many different camera angles. A
Also the ability to design scenes and locations, and upload them along with the created characters, images and props to community creations for others to download.
With optional downloadable packages that people could pay for like more scenes, actors, props, special car models special motion or actions that the actors and props can perform.
It could have built in lines, from voice actors, and the option to record lines dialogue, and sound effects in movies. Props and vehicle models, etc would have their built in sound effects. And also community creations where the community can view each other's films or contribute to the same project.
It would be a world where you can decide the number of extras (like if the scene is taking place in a busy city there would have an option to have busy heavy traffic with 100s of extras walking up and down the street), weather, day time, and could create explosions, special effects etc disasters.
The environment and buildings would be completely interactive so doors can be open or knocked down, or a window can be broken, a character can throughstuff through a window. Buildings can catch a fire and burn,or even explode or collapse water can out the fire,e
I think this would be a big hit, It would definitely revolutionize video gaming/content creating for social media. I have more insight on the project just contact me if anyone wants to dialogue about it .

Game development takes more power than playing games so you could play a game developed on ue5 but then trying to buid one might struggle depending on how much you push the engine and the type of game your making. Small experience with good art style then you'll be good massive open world with advanced features then maybe check your specs

Unreal Engine 5 is under DirectX 12 and programmed for next-generation consoles (RDNA 2) and no longer favors CUDA. Unreal Engine 4 is DirectX 11 so by default it favors CUDA’s more serial processing. This is why I ditched RTX for RX (RDNA 2).
