I have a 79' bus. I noticed that no matter where I go, someone will come up and talk to me, take pics and tell a story about a VW their family or fiends owned. I love the whole VW culture and helping to make people happy when i drive it!
I've had my bus for the last 50 years (yes I bought it New) a great vehicle used as a daily driver and holidays off to Croatia in a couple of weeks what a way to go and looked after very little trouble at all and going up in value!
"Air Schooled" is a great name - maybe Robbie should enroll himself? I might be wrong since its been a few decades - but I seem to remember that even my '62 and '65 Busses had a dome light, and you could select whether you wanted it to be on or off when you open the driver's door.
Your dome light dosnt work, my lights come on with the opening door, That's stock. (since the 50's) the other things u mention are non issues. Because most of them were factory or dealer options (since at least before u were born), Or only really important when NOT driving. My 50 year old daily driver (1600 with 34 pict 3 with header) will do 75 nicely. (70 Bay window) I dig ur bus.
The base model bay buses did not get dome light switches. Since my '69 was originally a tin-top Westy built from a kombi chassis, it doesn't have the door switches, or even anywhere in the body to mount them.
Very cool video. I must do the same reproduction video for my channel in Albanian language 😍 so far if the best articulated video that my brain can understand with my English issues

I think until you’ve owned one you will never truly understand the joy.
Rob is great! Such a great teacher. Miss you her in the PacNW.
Just drove my '64 sunroof 25 mi. to get the mail. ( the mailbox is down the street.) Hehe
love the colors all around, nice bus dude.
I bet those little Volkswagen buses were common & popular back n the '60s. Nowadays I don't see them around.
I like the Portland Oregon black lab brewery sticker.
Thank you! It was stuck on behind my back by the local Monday night meetup, back in regular times!
Robbie!
Why does he keep calling it a car?? Its not a car, its a volkwagon bus !! Atleast give it the respect it deserves for gods sake ! Its a bus !
Because it's my car! That's why ;)
yey Robbie!

incredible vehicle... if VW ever makes a hybrid or electric version, I'm first in line
...still wouldn't trust their figures lol the new bus concept is a bit strange for me
HappyFamilyPlan did.. did you just predict the future?
They did though
It's ugly. Not something you would want to be first in line but it is cool to see something like a bus
Gas is better.

Exactly. A/c has been an option on VWs since the 1960s.
