Welcome to the Martial Arts Journey RUclips channel!
My name is Rokas. I'm a Lithuanian guy who trained Aikido for 14 years, 7 of them running a professional Aikido Dojo until eventually I realized that Aikido does not live up to what it promises.
Lead by this realization I decided to make a daring step to close my Aikido Dojo and move to Portland, Oregon for six months to start training MMA at the famous Straight Blast Gym Headquarters under head coach Matt Thornton.
After six months intensive training I had my first amateur MMA fight after which I moved back to Lithuania. During all of this time I am documenting my experience through my RUclips channel called "Martial Arts Journey".
Now I am slowly setting up plans to continue training MMA under quality guidance and getting ready for my next MMA fight as I further document and share my journey and discoveries.

Jeff’s 100% gonna start looking for people with knives to try and give them money
If I follow him around enough, maybe I can pay off my mortgage! 😅
Haha, Seth 😂😂
😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
So true
Jeff getting progressively more frustrated as he hears about the other participants winning the knife challenge without fighting is the funniest thing.
Haha, yeah, I was laughing out loud too both irl but also while editing 😂
I was cracking up over that too haha
Goes to show the difference in mentality for MMA training vs Self Defense.
@@LunaticReason yea but i feel like 90 percent of the people who train mma does it for self defense
@@qwertyki9367 That’s the difference though. You think you’re training for self-defence, but the mental conditioning in MMA is only for the ring. It never covers the mindset and goals of self-defence. It makes a difference in which techniques you select and how you apply them.
Honestly Icy Mike impressed me the most: He's the oldest, the smallest but he is still fighting hard for every little edge and advantage, his ball grab was even more impressive than his knife disarm
He also the most annoying js
And he is the least skilled. He lost a fight to an actual kid who had only been training for 2 years. He's a joke tbh
@@squuid15
Are you Randall’s ALT account?
I don’t get the hate for Icy Mike. Icy Mike is way smaller than the people he’s fighting and he’s still giving them a challenge.
@@Uuyrijies1123 Yeah dude is real small compared to everyone else, and quite a bit older than everyone else too besides Ramsey, but again, Ramsey is way taller and heavier than Mike.
Honestly seeing some of the guys react to the knife scenario by just giving their wallet is so immensely important. Seeing even these badasses not fighting that one really sends a paramount message of just not doing it. No matter how tough you think yourself.
I wish they'd try that on me, tho. I wouldn't give them anything but the asskicking of their life.

Yea, this is better than most 'reality' tv shows out there.
As a 47 year old in the UK who has just started martial arts for the first time I'm finding Icy Mike @hard2hurt and @RamseyDewey both very inspiring as guys in their 40's doing so well in these scenarios.
Hah, I'm older and smaller than Icey Mike...he's my hero, heh...although I like what I thought was a relatively smooth and good technical performance by Rokas...
It's never too late to start training. Started in my mid 30s and it's been 6 years. Keep it up!
Mike can be pretty arrogant (and often wrong) in my opinion, but he does have tons of practical advice that is quite solid. Ramsey is great from the zen and efficiency side, but gets a little arrogant in a smoother, less noticeable way. As he's saying good solid stuff, he sneaks some BS in there, and to be honest, him sneaking in his occasional political propaganda was getting tiresome.
@@bigguy7353 Do you mind giving some examples of these things?
@@bigguy7353 Ramsey is extremely unathletic. Like bottom 10% of the population.
Rokas, as many have told you this is amazing. please do not stop after this season, if you can get schedules on time this series deserves to be continued with different martial artists. love to see Shane Fazen, Jesse Enkamp, even someone OG like ginger ninja trickster.
we want commander dale brown, master wong, and grand master george dillman
Dave Leduc maybe :D
@@Goronsquad i think that dude is way too intense to play with rules prolly smacks camera guy in opening minute
Would love to see Jesse encamp and Dan the wolfman
I would also like to see Shane fazen here
Apparently ramsey was recovering from covid at the time of the filming taking place, as stated by his recent video. And he went through the exhausting drills in his weakened state, and he's also in his 40s. Truly impressive
I don't think you'll ever hear him complain about it either, dude's a beast
What stands out to me is just basic common sense. Youth, athleticism, strength, size, fighting mindset, all are trump cards that get played in the show. Look how well the largest participants did versus the smaller. Exactly as you would expect. Not a lot of need for fancy technique, mostly just basic grappling.
@@sweynforkbeard8857 the basics are the advanced techniques.
Well what doesn't kills you makes you stronger i believe 🙏
That's impressive. I recall having absolutely no endurance after COVID-19 for at least a month, and needing 3-4 for full recovery. He's a beast
It's just episode 2, but I feel like I want season 2 already. This is how you knew the video is great.
Thanks!
Dude we DEFINITELY need a season 2 are you kidding me
Your avatar's cursed as fuck!
But Monika approves it!
You noticed that Season 2 is confirmed and Rokas has funding in progress in the link below the video?
Everyone else is super cool of course but god I absolutely love Jeff’s fighting style. His fluid Muai Thai seamlessly transitioning into takedowns and jiu jitsu is really a thing of beauty especially how he uses his skill in practical settings.
Jeff looks like he has choreographed half his fights, the guy is nuts.
This series shows how far RUclips has come. This is better content than most reality competition shows on cable. My hat goes off to everyone involved in the production.
Rokas, you have created an absolute masterpiece. This show is too good! The contestants are perfect too
Thank you 🙏
@@MartialArtsJourney masterpiece indeed! I wonder how much money you had to spend on this. It looks like something the Discovery Channel would do.
Yeah I want to binge watch! It really helps that I watch all these channels lol. I like how their personalities and styles come out in combat…. It’s like what you practice will come out in a combat scenario. There’s some other RUclipsrs that I’d want to see also in a thing like this….
Dead serious, you guys need to throw this at a major network or continue it on your own. The editing is next level and the idea is so amazing and original. This could easily become an annual reality show/competition that would garner millions of viewers.
Rokas you deserve a huge thumbs up in recognition of your journey so far.
Nah, Being lowkey is better. Have more control over your own creation instead of interference from studios n shit
even if the content stays the same, the cheese a network would pour all over this would make it less enjoyable.
13:55 I love the goal isn’t necessarily just fighting. It’s self defense. You can make it easier or harder for yourself. He might’ve not been the best “fighter” but he was able to calm down and think which is underrated.
Yeah, but I don't see how the guy who got stabbed won this point too x)
He won the point fair and square. But he still died on the way to hospital.
@@TKZprod You don't just drop dead after being stabbed in the side. When defending yourself against a knife you are most likely to get cut or stabbed, so you have to control the weapon or disarm them ASAP and get distance. He ended up controlling it pretty well so I think that's why he got the point. Lets hope his phone didn't break in his pocket so he could call an ambulance lmao.
This is the answer to all those who say "real fighting can't be interesting to watch". What a show. Bravo to all staff and fighters.
well this isn't "real fighting" either they're using protective gear and not trying to kill each other

This is insanely good. Literally tv quality. Rokas needs to make a production company and sell season 2 of this. Icy Mike defending himself against guys way heavier than him was the most technically impressive thing for me, plus obviously Jeff Chan is professional level.
Icy mike had so much knife training the guy with the knife was at the disadvantage 😂
Thanks for the encouragement, guys. This was the hardest thing I've ever done. But yeah, the knife came out and I was like, "oh... i have something for this!"
@@hard2hurt Keep going!
I tend to agree, watching Icy Mike fight all I was thinking was, how would a man his size fair without combat training, I actually think it was pretty impressive.
@@hard2hurt As a tall guy, I am the most impressed by Icy Mike. At 6'5, I couldn't imagine fighting several 6'9 dudes that are stronger than me. Like I can't even imagine what I would do, but I just know that I would get absolutely annihilated and feel that it was unfair. He never complains and beats their asses at times. Unbelievable.
This series is to RUclips what Succession is to HBO... It's simply the best thing out there right now and I can't wait for the next episode!!!

Rokas is always amazing, seeing him start at Aikido and not feel so self confident and just the sheer progress and finally seeing him eat that Kumite/shark tank alive was so amazing. You're an inspiration brother

@@Irrelevant66 I disagree, I think the shark tank guys were kinda tired by the time Romas had gotten in there, has nothing to do with a background in aikido, which you implied is why they "went easy" on him

Love how Matt stuffed that takedown with the second attacker. This series is seriously amazing.
This is just so amazing! I love that the judges did acknowledge that you could run away! So helpful to know in a true self defense situation. So much harder to remember in training!
My jaw literally dropped when Jeff hit that left body kick to double leg takedown in the first round. He's so damn smooth lol
I thought and commented exactly the same thing!
Yeah it was fucking beautiful dude. I think I shed a tear 😂
Bro I starting fanboying😂😂😂
Bro is a video game character its crazy
Dude is the only professional martial artist in this competition and it shows
Another banger! Mike kicking the knife out and Jeff's double leg shot against the armed attacker were my fav moments.
Yeah, definitly the most badass moment.
Movie type shit right there. Fucking dope.
Seems like none of you noticed that he was going for the head, the hand happened to be in the way. And headkicks are the last thing you want to do against an individual with a knife, in terms of risk-reward ratio.
@@exileatsushi7165 his decision to throw that kick was determined by the position of the attacker - his back was turned. That was an excellent move to do in that scenario.
@@exileatsushi7165 i was not only going for the head... i hit it... on purpose... because I've practiced that exact scenario... a lot. It's an uphill battle for you to try to convince anyone that's a bad idea given what we just watched.
As a person who was raised in traditional taekwondo and then studied Wing Chun and I know I finally started Brazilian jiu-jitsu, seeing this approach to self defense makes me very happy as it's not just about technique but mindset. That seemed particularly evident with the idea of attacking things like the groin to the chin and rotating the neck and once you get your opponent off of you running away or giving the money over to the guy trying to rob you instead of fighting him. I also love how well Rokas as it seems like he was using Brazilian jiu-jitsu more than anything and that was super effective
Bjj definitely helped, but it seemed like everyone went for the double leg.
Matts fights were definetly the most interesting ones to me. To see his more self defense focused kind of approach was really educating and as a smaller guy myself, I felt like I should for sure copy some of Icy Mikes tactics. Thank you for all the effort you guys went through to create such a good series
Mike held very well for his size and age !
Agreed!
Ramset Dewey handling the knife attack was golden
and jeff’s reaction:shut the f**** up 🤣🤣🤣
Ramsey had the correct answer, but Mike had the rock star answer.
Never heard of Matt before this but he did incredible. I am loving this series.
Yeah I thought Matt was amazing in the "shark tank" especially since he was a bit smaller than the guys he was fighting against
Ok Rokas you were right, this was even better than the first episode! I love the variety of scenarios and different sized opponents you all had to deal with. Super intense while still being controlled as possible. Can't wait for ep3!
Rokas has turned into a BEAST. He did just as well as Jeff, while spending half the sweat. What a guy.
😊🙏
And that's because, I would dare say literally, of his Aikido background. He has the ability to blend in with the kinetic energy of the attacker, better than Jeff, despite Jeff being a beast. But he has the cage mentality of a fighter, instead of the self defense mentality. You can clearly watch it with the knife.
@@basilistsakalos9643 This. I commented almost exactly the same thing. Everyone else was trying to win, Rokas tried to escape and not get hurt.
@@basilistsakalos9643 Jeff was just putting more energy into it.
@@mikeohara1055 it is the blend of everything he has practiced in my opinion.
I love how Sensei Seth goes from "Fighting two people is super tough" to much more composed in the weapon rounds, like part of his brain is going "Oh, a knife/bat? Not as crazy as the swords I've had to defend against in the last two years"
Amazing episode (and great job with the editing and videography).
This is awesome. Rokas you have improved a lot. This should be a yearly thing with different contestants and fan favorites. Do a military version with U.S. forces Recon, Seals, Special Forces, Korean Rock Marines, IDF, JDF.
Awesome! This beats every tv show in my country without even breaking a sweat. Everyone is great! And It's cool how much Rokas grown as martial artist. Also Mike was like Woverine here and that's kind of warm my soul.
Nobel peace prize to Rokas for making these fantastic series!!! Blown away by the quality!
😁❤️
One thing this drives home to me is that skill is a great equalizer, but physical attributes are more important. Size, strength, youth, cardio, these are all huge elements. That said, I think it's telling that Mike did very well in the weapons events. He needs to tell Craig and Aaron "Thank you". :D
I have... Ryan, Amber, Mike and Eli as well.
@@hard2hurt Mike, you did very well. It is fair that in this competition this doesn't count, as the scenarios they simulate don't count it either, but the fact you were rolling with guys with more than 100lbs on you make it that more impressive. Not to mention age.
It makes so much sense since he is former police and all about the street
Striking skill is somewhat mitigated in these scenarios though,
because of the protective equipment. And in this particular vid they're going 70%.
So you can't just land a few solid shots, take out your opponents and stay on your feet.
@@BWater-yq3jx Mitigated - yes. But striking when full of adrenalin unless hitting some soft spot (chin, kidneys, clear groin strike etc.) and putting someone out of commission in an instant is never that reliable.
I love how each of the styles are really shine.. Matt did a good job of using those self defense techniques.. manipulating the head, using those knees… and Icy Mike’s kickboxing came through using a spinning back in one of those fights… good stuff.
I am not an MMA guy, I'm not even subscribed to any of these guys, but I have seen some of the Rokas videos on how he evolved his Aikido and sought other martial arts. Least likely to win? What? You breezed through all challenges maaaan. Also him being proud of making his wife proud, very wholesome! Congrats for that big W!
Thanks!
In a way Rokas looked probably the nicest and most frail in comparison. This might have appeared weak. Did you see season 2 is confirmed? And Rokas is collecting funds in the link below the video, there are an introduction to the next fighters as well, wonder how the statistics for them are looking.
This was intense! So cool to see that Rokas' journey paid off to such a huge degree. He's a real contender now!
the thing is that rokas is in really good shape and most of the guys dont
It's crazy to see what he has accomplished.
Also the fact that he actually paid for the bout have had some influence on the outcome...😆
It seems like Rokas is going to be the fighting sports newbie all the way up until he starts beating everyone out of nowhere. 😄
@hard2hurt
How jealous was everyone when you told them you kicked a knife out of the hand?
This is so much fun! Icy Mike kicking the knife out of that guy's hand was a highlight for me. And awesome work on nailing all of the challenges.
They should have given me an extra point!
I agree, while most contestants did the "right thing" by passively handing over their wallet, Icy Mike displayed balls and skill with that kick.
Mike's police training would mean disarming the attacker rather than handing over whatever.
@@hard2hurt Lol, betting you were pretty proud, right then. Good shit.
This is an amazing and refreshing idea in the mma/self-defense community. I can see this becoming something like what All Star weekend is for nba/mlb is for their players but for like famous ufc fighters/boxers/etc. Something fun to do with their skills while on time off or something. I don't think anybody can say Mike cant grapple after this. He did a lot of awesome things under pressure that would make most people cave. Much respect.
I was so disappointed in that last one because up until getting reversed, I was wrestling my ass off.
@@hard2hurt Mike in my oppinion when u grappled the bigger guys u went for the legs, I think l saw u trying single leg, then to run the pipe, but the heavy guy was hopping around and u were holding on to the leg he was leaning on u and u were carrying his weight and u got exhausted. Would it be better if u hugged the waist or got the under hooks and tried to go to the back from there and do the "Best take down for the streets" move and buckle the back of the knee of your opponent. I would like to hear your answer.
Maybe if he would add a little more ground recovery techniques, the IcyMike would do even better. I mean something like a upkick could be transformed into a roll backwards for standing up, no?
Absolutely fantastic series so far. As a martial artist of around 25 years now, I've had plenty of conversations about the difference in mentality and techniques applicable between a ring, a street fight brawl and self defense. To see experienced individuals taking on challenges like this is absolutely fantastic. It also shows that in a self defense scenario, your conditioning(both mental and physical) plays more of a factor than your techniques or training background. Absolutely superb.
Fr , I have been training for 5 years and seeing these techniques in like real scenarios , won’t just see if it works or not it is still challenging your physical and mental.
Ramsey shouldn’t feel all too bad. What you guys are doing is innovative and can pave the way for ACTUAL GOOD self defense.
Most self defense sucks because it doesn’t go through this scrutiny of a unique environment/circumstance.
Keep it up and do it for the science of it. 👍 🙏
Matt was impressive, fighting smart and avoiding take unnecessary damage. Good self defense skills for street danger.
Love how he prevented the takedown by shoving his hand on the guys nose. The guy could knock him down but he would probably break his own nose.
Yeah matt was on fire!
The cleanest performance
Yep. Showed the value of real self defense training and not just martial arts training! Also, the fact that he was the only one who even tried to run away is really worrying for me. If I was a martial artists that'd be the first hole I'd try to plug - it's so easy to forget about the flight if all you are training in is the fight mode!
Honestly never seen Matt before in my life (last video excluded) so I didn't know what to expect but he impressed me!
All these guys are doing an amazing job, but I wanna say the combatives guys are amazing. What a difficult job they have. They play the bad guys and fight over and over again, taking shots, being aggressive while not injuring their partners. That's a tough gig. No lie, they are badasses.
1000%!
They seem pretty happy about this, i mean look at the fun MJ and Alex Fry had in the later episodes, still waiting for bonus footage to be made public after rokas got rest. Maybe even a Season 1 tribute Music video? Still hope something is going to come.
Everyone else during the knife attack: Take my money, it's all good.
Icy Mike and Jeff Chan: Cowabunga, it is!
This is one of the best things that have happend to the martial arts community in a while.
Both my brother and i are martial arts instructors and even though we have a different aproach to self defense we love watching this together
Awesome!
I love how they gave Ramsey the point for giving the knife-wielder his hypothetical wallet and phone.
It was the best move. Icy Mike was the only one that would have survived of the 3 guys who decided to fight. It is a self-defense championship after all, not martial arts.
He's got that big brain.
Yeah but after watching the guys that decided to fight, only Mike would have made it out alive. The others got stabbed. So if THEY can´t do it, giving your wallet is indeed the best choice.
I love Mike's response to Jeff saying he's not in the best shape of his life. That's how I'd react lol
Yeah he didn't read the room!

Holey smokes. Watching guys who KNOW how to fight, get roughed up, is a real wake up call that you should do some sort of self-defence/martial arts training... Absolutely scary real world situations that we all one day might have to be aware of...

Hopefully this gets popular
BROOOOOOO! Rokas! I just got to the point where you went in the circle drill and maaaaan! I've watched this channel since your early BJJ/MMA training, and you've come so far. That was awesome!

One of the things I'm really loving about this series is the variety in contestant types. You have older younger and people in their primes, you have bigger and smaller guys, you have people with wildly varying training styles. Self defense is for everyone and seeing how they all handle the same situations is extremely enlightening.
Bravo for this series, Bravo.
Also Icy Mike's knife kick was 🤯🤌
I totally agree with u about The thing u said about "Variety in contestant types is wonderful." For example I'am a guy built like icy Mike, and I'm expecially watching him, how he tries to handle the situations.
Excellent point about the diversity in size, age and style.
Bro i swear if this was a real show, i'd watch every week, shout out to Matt, Ramsay and Rokas for not fighting thr knife guy, and shout out to Icymike for kicking the knife outta the guy's hand.

@@rowlinzonvaldeavilla3964 Right?!

This _is_ a real show.
And to Matt for actually running away!
I love Seth here, they forgot to put the quit in that guy. Really inspiring for me as someone trying to improve their cardio.
This was even more exciting than the first episode! Really impressed that most of you guys actually surrendered to the guy with the knife. No point in risking your life in a situation like that, however, Icy Mike's disarming kick was too damn cool.
My assessment:
1. Jeff is a pro MMA fighter, and being well trained and in shape, he managed to overcome the empty-handed challenges well.
2. Rokas' aikido background is showing in some areas, and he has great BJJ grappling skills that helped him survived. That aikido background seems to help him with the bat.
3. Seth is not as well conditioned as some of the guys here, but he still did great, and he is good with weapons defense.
4. Ramsey's age is showing, but I love the knife compliance. In fact, it is the best knife defense ever.
5. Matt really showed his stuff here, and his bat disarm is the best despite the helmet thing.
6. Mike's law enforcement background was well utilized, though he had a size disadvantage. He is in the worst shape like Seth, but damn! That was the best knife disarm ever!
Overall, regardless of the winner, these guys are great.
Great summary!
Matt's first bat disarm attempt looked like movie choreography with how well he did it fr
Why is Seth not conditioned? No one seems to have Jeff's condition but he is probably in same shape as the others.
Mike's age is showing, also on his streams he said that he has some kind of health problems that make him perform worse.
And yeah, Seth's shape is fine, really
You trully created something amazing here, Rokas. Good work dude!
Thank you! 🔥
Seriously, I was thinking the same thing. Great Work Sir! I also want to say, your impressing/surprising many since your… “wake up call.”
Your skill level is up there, especially considering the polled opinions.
Do the damage, while keeping your calm respectful demeanor, but do the damage. Your one I am rooting for!
So far this is my favorite miniseries on RUclips lmao
Not Mike just kicking a knife out of the attackers hand so smoothly. For me that single movement makes this series a x10 boost. I'm loving it.
It was interesting to me how effective your Aikido training was in this - not because of your fancy rolls and throws, but because you flowed around nicely with it all and gave until you space until you had your plan, which you were then able to execute.
Rokas pulled a sneaky kotegaeshi for control, didn't expect that, damn so good!!!
Haha, I was wondering if someone will see it! 😁
@@MartialArtsJourney yes! Haha I was going to make a quick video on martial geeks to cover it and see if I was right haha 🙏🥋
I saw it too, it was great and unexpected.
Minute 16.39 for the ones they didn't noticed.
This series is somehow the most entertaining and yet the most educational martials arts/self defense content out there.
Icy Mike's knife disarm was certified badassery! 👊🥋
This is by far the best martial arts & self defense content i have seen in years ! Congratulations Rokas, keep going, greetings from a fellow aikido black belt in Argentina.
Rokas evolves by finding ways for everyone to evolve together , it's amazing, all the guys there including urban combatives are spectacular, I'm so inspired by this journey
We want to see the invincibles 9h degree masters there
That's a good way of looking at it, and really, it's reflective of Rokas' entire martial arts journey: It all began with the question of, "Do I _really_ know how to defend myself?"
Everything that's come after that has been in pursuit of answering that question, and as he learns, he shares his knowledge with all of us.
I, for one, cannot wait to see Rokas Leonavicius in his silver screen debut, _The Disciple._ Coming maybe to a theater near you
That really is a wonderful way to put it.
@@hard2hurt thank you for your reply, sir
This was double the length of the first episode yet still didn't feel long enough! 😭
I cannot wait for the rest of this series! 🎉
This is 100% the next evolution in martial arts training and fight entertainment 👏👏
So proud of Rokas. He barely broke a sweat and got full points.
Jeff really dominate, it shows us that fitness and professional MMA experience really paid off.
Icy Mike manage to stand his ground and kick the knife from his opponent show his skill and determination despite his age and size.
Rokas manage to get 6/6 just show us he really become one of the best martial art practitioner ever since he left Aikido. Proud of you man.
Can't wait for episode 3😁
It was fun watching Jeff just dump almost everyone with a blast double. His reaction to how everyone got out of the knive challenge is the best part though
How about his jumping double punch!
@@alexwong7324 Imagine what those "bad guys" must have been thinking going into that and suddenly getting ragdolled by the main character. 😄
Yeah that slip into a double leg takedown at 5:30 was super clean. You can tell that Jeff is a professional fighter.
@@alexwong7324 Strike, Level change, blast double. It was beautiful.
Mike: “You can’t kick a knife out of someone’s hand. That’d never work.”
Also Mike: **kicks knife out of a guy’s hand*
Also Mike "making a dozen videos of how to kick a knife out of a guys hand" on a few channels.
Best show. No bullshit drama. Just awsome, competant guys doing the coolest self defense tests!!
Wish I was there 😄
This video series is simply amazing. Most entertaining martial arts content I've seen on RUclips!
Jeff got some beautiful takedowns in this drill.
Roka! The amount of knowledge that these two episodes has put out on self-defense and martial arts is amazing. You have created something really special, and I believe it's going to change the world of martial arts and self-defense training.
Keep it up, brotha.
Thanks! Huge kudos goes to co-organizer Jeff Phillips though too!
This isn't new?
Yeah my favourite was Jeff's immediate reaction to knife, "idk what I did" and yet he's done a variant of what pretty much all combatives go for. The headbutts were based too, he screwed up with the submission attempt, should've tried to get both legs to the left for leverage and overpower knife hand (idk if letting go with non-knife controlling one was a possibility cuz camera angle). For someone who has no experience in such scenarios it was amazing!
Last episode was as the show advertised. This episode was much more a battle of contexts.
1. Jeff has been in a fight with two people and knows that Batman does not grapple one opponent at a time.
2. You and Ramsey have learned a lot about knife encounters.
3. Your experience with Aikido helped you with the rear naked chokehold.
4. After hearing your and Ramsey's response to the knife, Matt picked up that strategy and adopted it for himself.
5. Matt's experience at Western Combatives helped him win the bat round. (21:38)
Also, Icy Mike giving up on grapples to the point of kicking the knife out of the attacker's hand is so Batman.
This series deserve a billion views It's a dream come true from every martial artist enthusiast.
Outstanding! This is terrific watching each of you handle all these scenarios. Very creative, without being hokey. Feels honest, real, and everything being a martial artist should be.
Need a girls edition down the road. I can totally see this as an annual thing now. Bravo
Absolutely need a women's edition
@jesusthroughmary if we get the common women self defense scenarios maybe we’ll get some of them throwing their stuff at their attacker? Lots of options there
If you've already watched this, consider watching it again. Have it playing in the background. Run it on .25x speed and let it play all day. The production value is insane and we need to convince the primordial chaos "blind idiot god" that is the RUclips algorithm that this is worth promoting. This needs factors more eyes and views than it is getting. Great work Rokas, and fight that fight to break onto the front page of RUclips!
No way
INcredible, there's no other series that I'm actually looking forward to the release date for the next episode. This is just fantastic.
Damn, Ramsay went from underdog to return of the king. That response to the armed robbery was surprisingly and still completely effective in disarming the situation without making the assailant get jumpy or engaging out of fear/surprise. Rokas and Ramsay were the goats of this one
Seth's grappling has gotten a lot better since the last time I he had a video including it. I guess the sumo stuff he's been doing has been a part of it.
Fuck yeah, this is the best series on youtube.
ROKASSSS YOU JUST ERADICATED EVERY EXCUSE PEOPLE HAVE TO NOT BE PERSISTENT. The moment we were all waiting for
I feel like this series could be aired in Netflix, it's rare to see this level of production on RUclips today
I think you guys are insane
I mean mentally
I love it comoletely
Will follow next chapters of this insane championship
Seems like a lot of fun. Would totally participate altough i might no get many points
Matt was such a great addition to the series. He did VERY well in this challenge, especially if you remember he hasn't been training frequently. I love his channel and hope he will find the time and motivation to post again.
I'm really loving this series. All the guys are doing great and is really interesting to see the different approaches. thank you Rokas!
