- It’s the FIRST-EVER Enclosure Build-off hosted by Snake Discovery!! This was the BIGGEST reptile RUclipsr collaboration in history to-date, with 10 amazing channels competing to build the best enclosure they can. This event was so big that we had to split it up into two videos! I thought Garrett's was going to be just weird and quirky.. and then he went and tugged at my heartstrings 😢
Edit; I wanted to add that I really liked Garrett's inspiration for his enclosure. On top of that, I love that it's still a bioactive enclosure, even though it's so different from the typical "natural" enclosures. So creative and he really thought about everything.
That's what I liked about his enclosure. He really thought outside of the box on it and went with something natrualistic yet manmade at the same time. It remsinds of one of the exhibits at the LA County Natural History Museum. In their hall of North American mammals they all sorts of stuffed animals from deer to elk, to wolves, to moose all in very naturalistic settings like you'd see them in the widl. Then they have one with a coytoe in somebody's back patio with a cat in its mouth, showing how wild animals like coyotes live amongst humans.
I wasn’t going to vote for his because others told me to… then he explained and I was like… yep- you get my vote!

To be perfectly honest, this is probably the most wholesome collab I have seen in a long time. Everyone's enclosure was perfect for what they wanted to do with each animal. Whether it be a leopard gecko, a fire skink, a bearded dragon, a corn snake, a carpet python, garter snake, ect. I think the real winners were that everyone had fun. The people to win the raffle are going to have a beautiful piece of art at home for their lovely animals to enjoy.

I loved everyone’s enclosures and I love how Clint displayed such sportsmanship he’s such a sweetheart. What really surprised me was Garrett’s comeback. He reminds me so much of my dad who passed away a few years ago and I really can appreciate how he put a personal part of his life into the enclosure. So lucky is the person who can bring it home❤️

Yours was absolutely the one I want most in my home! It looked so cozy and peaceful, both to observe, and to live in. And the hobbit hole made out of PVC piping was so clever.

Your enclosure has me so feeling so nostalgic. It reminds me of catching critters and going to the zoo in Louisiana. The copperhead and other various snakes had enclosures that had similar “southern workshed” feel that yours did!

I’m super late, but Elle’s enclosure looked the most aesthetically pleasing to me. So much beautiful greens and little details, it’d be quite a zen decoration for home.

One of the things I love about this channel is how it builds people up. Ed building up and supporting Emily. The channel building up and supporting other creators. Clint building up and supporting other builders. The channel building up and educating beginning reptile keepers. It is just such a nice vibe and nice example.

It's that great kind of passion and excitement that makes YOU excited too, even if you never thought you'd be excited about reptiles. That's the same kind of attitude Steve Irwin had. I never thought much about crocodiles or snakes until I watched The Crocodile Hunter. I was very sad when he passed, he brought a lot of love for nature to this world.
Clint's little "We've got a TRex" made me smile, i love his energy

I wish we could have seen his full process with the gorilla glue. It turned out so good, and looks much easier to work with than Great Stuf foam!
Agreed I was blown away by him. I knew he was a great guy but he is amazing! Such a sweet caring person. The T-rex sold me I am a die hard dinosaur lover.

Its been a while since I watched it but I think he uses water with the glue, which makes it puff up kind of like the foam? And then he sticks the substrate to it, which I think looks really nice and naturalistic!
I was mostly surprised that none of the contestants (and even Emily and Ed) seemed to know about his gorilla glue trick… I guess none of them watched his video!
That was fun. I LOVED Garrett’s barn. That enclosure needs to be here at our ranch. Our Bullsnake Rodney would love it!

I love Garrett’s setup because he really did add a little piece of himself in his build. That really was such a beautiful speech he gave. He obviously loves animals and I know a lot of animals would love his build to live in.

I'm just in love with Garrett's enclosure, it's so unique and beautiful... Everyone did an amazing job and were so creative, but Garrett's is by far my favorite! It's so nice to see everyone working and having fun, I could have watched for hours!
The story behind it sold me. Also, he made a mini barn in his enclosure which is insane. There was thought in every detail.
I haven't even finished the video yet and I am already like "I'm pretty sure Garrett will make my favorite enclosure." That's also because he won me over with saying "You have beautiful supplies.. Im looking for ugly!"
Dude didnt follow the challenge though. Bring one item and then use from the stuff they had there, he spent he most of his time in home depot. Its a very unique enclosure but everyone else build within the restraints of the competition. He had copper pipes, a metal bath, pumps and all sorts of stuff.

@PG Aquatics, someone requested gorilla glue and they got it. Had he requested his needs they would have been provided. He did not want Ed and Emily spending anymore than they already had. Express how you feel with your vote and do not put others down. This is about community and supporting the reptile hobby not tearing it apart.

Garrett and Clint are like my top two favorite enclousures. They look so nice. Garretts, however, gives me such homey nostalgic feels and I really just needed that in my life right now with how emotional and hard things have been for me. Honestly when I saw how unique Garrett's looked I knew I had to vote for it. That is such an awesome design. Though Clint's was honestly tempting.
Everyone did such an amazing job, it’s hard to choose a “winner”! I think everyone deserves a prize for how good of sports they all are and how they all were so creative!!

Edit: I think Brian’s is the best. Not only does the design feel fairy tailish and like a cottage with the mushrooms, but it also has a cute snake.

I heavily appreciate the heart and soul Garret put into the design and Idea of his enclosure, its absolutely wonderful and gives me so much nostalgia I didn't even know I had! However, Clint's enclosure had so much naturalistic fun and design to it that I think would be perfect for the species intended or even other species to fully enjoy! His personality, and generosity in helping the others with tips and hard work just hits me in a heartwarming way. My vote Is on Clint but I wouldn't be upset if Garret won what so ever. He worked so hard and put so much of himself into the build. Wonderful job to everyone! Keep building so many more amazing things. Stay Hydrated.

What I love most about the build off is that all of the participants really enjoyed it and put their All into the builds. I’ve watched everybody’s videos and they were all great.

I also love all the little bits of info we are learning, like about acetone removing foam and how to differentiate heat treated wood vs chemically treated wood. This is so awesome, love it!

I’m a bit confused. I love Garret’s enclosure, but I thought UVB doesn’t go through plexiglass. That being said, the rustic barn look really speaks to me. And the old tools just add such a great touch.
I just need to add how cute Ed is when he affirms things that Emily says: "YEAH it is". ADORBS.
