    Shawn and Mel, you do realize that the singer is Geoff Castellucci ( one man) using his talent to create this video .Remember that 's one man singing four different parts. Great reaction. Geoff has a six-octave range to his voice. Great reaction.

      He and the beatboxer arrange about 90 to 95% of their covers and whoever does the arrangement is responsible for the whole thing except for the very final mix that I sent to Ed Boyer who also mixes for Home Free and Pentatonix.
      They just dropped a cover of Valhalla Calling which is the most epic to date. But they have an extensive back catalog since they’ve been performing in one way or another since 1997 when Geoff and Layne, along with prior high tenor Earl Elkins, released their first album right out of high school.

    Voiceplay is often referred to as the Theater Kids of the Acapella world and Geoff Castellucci is a founding member. Both his solo work and his work with Voiceplay contain a large variety of videos. I strongly recommend you look through and find songs you like. Since I see Elvis prominently displayed in the background you would love Voiceplay's cover "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You" and for solo cover by Geoff then "Way Down"

    Geoff is a phenomenon, a unique bunch of talents. He not only did all the singing, he did the arrangement, filmed and edited both sound and video He does it all with the aid of his wife Kathy. And help with costuming and backgrounds from his friends in VoicePlay. This is true of all his videos. In case you hadn't realised, it's all one man, Geoff, with different beards. He does this so he can sing all the parts of the harmonies he writes. He has a range of five octaves. Those low notes are called subharmonics whidh he is famous for. But he's doing the hight voices too. The song is from the film The Hobbit.

  • @Amomferatus
    @Amomferatus Год назад +1

    Welcome to Geoff Castellucci and yes that is his natural voice, a 4 + octave range, from C0-A5 on the piano, including subharmonics. Look up his other videos, that show his range. He is incredible.

  • @SixFour0391

    “I See Fire” is brilliant too! Also, from The Hobbit.

  • @Badger77722
    @Badger77722 Год назад +2

    All one man - just different makeup and costumes. All of the voices are still Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci (Italian, so the 'cc' becomes 'ch' when it's pronounced). Geoff usually has several versions of himself on-screen, each singing a different part of his range. He can reach very low bass notes, and still get up into low/mid tenor range for his highs. Besides the work on his solo channel, he's also the bass singer (and a founding member) for the a cappella group VoicePlay.
    The lowest Geoff got in this one was G1 - he hit it 3 different times, using a different technique each time. But it's not nearly the lowest note he has sung in a video - that's a B0 subharmonic, in both the VoicePlay Halo theme video, and VoicePlay's newest video Valhalla Calling. Valhalla is especially impressive, because he not only hits the B0, he holds it forever - or at least, it seem like it.
    For Geoff solo work, I recommend Sixteen Tons (my preference for starting people out on Geoff's videos), Blackbird (Beatles cover), The Bare Necessities (from the Disney Jungle Book movie), or his latest video Man of Constant Sorrow.

  • @tebubba
    @tebubba Год назад +2

    Geoff is a rare talent. His range is just sick. His G1 low notes are the bomb and he uses different techniques - chest, harmonic, growl etc. There are lots of great bass singers but Geoff is the king in my book.

    Recommend you check out Voiceplay where Geoff is the bass singer another Rabbit hole to jump right into. It doesn't matter what song you choose they kill each one. So it all depends on what you want to listen to first. They have everything from Disney (Recommend We Don't Talk About Bruno) to video game themes songs (Recommend Halo (listen all the way to the end)) or they did Nothing Else Matters from Metallica (definitely recommend). If you want some more comical their Nightmare before Christmas songs.
    I think my top favorite is probably Queen in 5 minutes or Boybands in 5 minutes. But they also have a song they did with Home Free Zombies vs Hillbillies 😊
    Whatever you choose enjoy
